Alright... Wow...
I'm amazed that from the early builds of the game, all that really seemed to change was more content. It's a very... Rough game... And not in the fun way.
Took me ages to realize about the job change too. A pencil icon right besides the name implies renaming and not a core and necessary feature.
The game only ever accepts mouse inputs for menu. Buying things at the market is miserable, how did that ever made past testing? Even as a solo dev, I cannot believe the entire notion of buying things exclusive once at a time, with a prompt telling you about each individual purchase and requiring a confirmation at the EXACT button that's on the other side of the screen each time never really came up... How? Seriously. I don't get it. I could only conceive that if it's meant to be intentionally annoying.
Also, I can accept that automating the process is something you have to unlock. But that doesn't excuse the entire manual controls having to be that bad either. Having to manually escort the clients to the entrance is just an odd decision all around.
And the whole Hygiene and Comfort mechanics... Hoo boy... No way to automate this one. Have a janitor. Click them. Click the room. Select clean. Wait for it, all the while the room is inoperable. And then repeat that for every single fucking room of your brothel, every day, during work hours. With no way to automate. No way to clean stairs either, those are meant to either just stay fucked up, or be replaced every day.
There's also the slight issue of managing your employees, but I can see how that would be overlooked in a... Management game... Really? A single big-ass stack list with no sorting or search function? No way to batch assign? Have to look each and every one to be reminded which ones require an individual room?
Worse still that those somehow aren't the only core features missing for a game of this genre. No breakdown of total costs? Food consumption/generation? Projected income? The ability to move rooms instead of having to delete and rebuild? Employees that require an individual room can only be assigned a room if they are workers, however, the room NEEDS to be assigned even if they work off-site.
And that's not counting the different ways the game broke. Some clients just hang and freeze the game at expedient end. Some buttons suddenly become un-clickable. Employees bugging out and staying at the opposite end of where they should be assigned. The front door sometimes just glitches out and spam "too crowded for clients to come it" even though there only a single guard and a single controller there. And sometimes just popping a huge UE error console while the game runs on the background and the brothel stays open outside of works hours.
Look, I really, really hate being negative. Whenever possible I try to be encouraging and understanding. But this is supposed to be a finished build. It's being sold. And it's the second one, after a first attempt that had several poor design decisions as well. I love the artstyle, but as games these just don't work. They're actively frustrating more often than not, and makes me wish for a gallery unlock right away, because that's only really enjoyable part of the whole thing.
