If I'm being honest, I prefer molester/corruption games where I play as the girl(s).
I've been playing games where you're the molester for most of this century and it gets old.

(This will fill arrest gauge of the boss and will let "us" to arrest him)
Refining what "we" learned today:
If "we" want to defeat boss 1, "we" need to arrest townspeople ONLY when there is a PURPLE GLOW around their icon. Only after these actions boss's arrest gauge will fill up, allowing "us" to arrest and defeat him.
In Fortnite terms (from person who never played it):
To achieve our #1 VICTORY ROYALE over the First boss, "we" need to snipe his forced teammates only when there is a purple aura around them, this will deplete Boss's shields, which for some reason deplete upwards, allowing an easy kill on shields down boss, giving us
#1 VICTORY ROYALE!

Fact that such little text explains everything in details, yet so many people here find first boss difficult - is really petrifying...
The 2 coping theories I have are:

minor version jumped from .10 to .15 and the only fix is changing ear letter from Y to E

I understand that this is trying to do a Vampire Survivor's style roguelike, but I kinda hate it.
The lack of any good permament upgrades means you can get completely screwed by a bad run.
I just had one where I ran into a Hooligan who does nothing but spam restraint over and over. It's completely impossible to do anything about because I'm level 3 and have no speed boosters, so even when I break free, his time to recapture me is faster than my time to arrest him.
I've been stuck here for multiple minutes unable to do literally anything about it because my stats are too low and this fucker is preventing me from getting any exp.
My only choice is to just quit the level.
Starting over and over and over from nothing really does feel like trash. Make level-ups come much slower but make them permanent, make the upgrades actually matter.

What in the world are you talking about, there are plenty of permanent upgrades and there are several that can help with this exact issue. It sounds like you don't understand what the Defend action or Defence stacks are for.

You have to LEARN HOW TO PLAY
Truly terrible news for a gamer nowadays...

It's not DarkSouls, Sekiro or whatever you can call it. It's a fuckin porn game where: you go in, get points for arresting fuckers, shit gets too hot or you are very close to the boss - you leave the train, improve yourself with points you just earned and now you are doing next round better than the last one.
All you need to do is prioritize speed boost, exp boost, and some useful skills, like stun or calming down passive.
And don't sleep on masochism - it's one of the best skills in the game. (earn exp after each touch, even if restrained.)

They apparently don't know what a roguelite is, since that's the main thing this and Vampire Survivors have in common.

I cannot wait to hear more about the new game Metamorphose is working on! Hopefully they give us something soon.

I've actually never played VS, but the while 'two skills combine into a new skill when you max them out' thing definitely started there.
Or at least was popularised there.
