Ren'Py - Completed - Ciri Trainer [Ch. 5 v1.0 Beta] [The Worst]

Worth playing if you are a fan of universe, game has not much else going for it - mby art.
spoiler allert - by the end ciri gets corrupted into wearing skirt and showing cleavage but there is some action with her outside of main arc in the middle of the game
Mc interactions with ciri are very sparse (one spanking and one sex scene for the whole game...) focus lies on some random side characters, quite repetitive at times

I weep for what this game could have been.

I have played this game chapter by chapter as it was being released and at first I had high hopes. The first two chapters are nothing short of perfection. A slow burn that balances grind and content while setting up extra content for the future. Stuff like forcing Ciri to harvest "materials" (read cum) from monsters or animated spanking punishments which held hopes for so much more. I expected it to lean more into this aspect and have the MC slowly corrupt Ciri while mixing in some legitimately funny jokes and some pretty hot scenes with Ciri and some secondary characters like Triss.

Then came the third chapter. Now, I genuinely enjoyed the third chapter; based on content alone it's probably my favorite of them all. But it jumps into a heavy bondage and fast corruption game where Ciri is bound and violated completely against her will by a character that's different than the one you've been playing up to this point (you still control this guy though so don't worry). Like I said, I really enjoyed this part but it felt like a very different game than the first two chapters. It was clear that the creators had given into pressure to try and rush to the end result without actually building off of what had come before. I had a bad feeling that this was the beginning of the end of what could have easily been the best trainer game ever made if the creators had just stuck with what they had shown early on.

I'll be honest, the forth chapter was so bland in comparison that I honestly don't remember a ton about it. They gave a half-hearted attempt at the mechanics of the first two chapter by introducing 1 new monster for harvesting that basically followed the exact same template of the fist 3. There was also adding the option to finger Ciri when you spanked her; something that could have been great had you not spent the entire last chapter whipping her and shoving cucumbers up her cunt as an entirely different person. There was also at least one scene where a secondary character forced Ciri to eat her out without any input or anything from the player. This chapter is where it really started to feel less like a game and more like a shitty VN.

Part of why it felt like a bad VN was the addition of art commissioned from an entirely different artist with a completely different style. It went from animations on a softer, more rounded style to static CGs with harsh lines and janky mouths that I wouldn't want to put anything near, let alone a dick. The new art itself really isn't bad, I'd probably enjoy a game just by that artist, but the styles clash so much that it looks awful by comparison with whats around it. Especially when they can't get character designs consistent across the two styles so you have no idea who's doing what. This art is accompanied by some of the absolute worst writing I've ever seen in a porn game. I found myself completely skipping over entire plot relevant sex scenes just because of the awful writing that accompanied it. And they really start to stretch out these couple of poorly written scenes to try to make the game seem longer. Seriously, if you ever find yourself writing "pulsating" or "turgid" to describe a dick, just stop typing and never start writing again. They really need to learn that less is more.

Chapter 5 was probably the most disappointing of them all. It drops all pretense of what made the first couple of chapters so amazing in favor of more completely static CGs that don't match the rest and more awful scene writing. You basically grind by clicking the same couple of options for an hour and then get hit by 3 or 4 sex scenes all back to back to back with no break or any real player input. There's one choice that even slightly matters and then it's just whether you can overcome the most boring fight the game has to see all the endings (took me 3 tries just spamming the same move over and over). Then the game just ends and you try to remember why you were so excited for the last chapter to be released. You check the gallery to see if you missed everything but you didn't. Not even the completely pointless scene where Ciri adopts a stray cat.

Overall, I'd say play the first two or three chapters (depending on how much you like bondage) and then dream about how promising the game is and the kinds of things you want from later chapters without actually playing them only to be disappointed. 3/5 stars for 3/5 good chapters.

I wanted to like this game but it lacks so much content, and i'm not talking about story content but about things you can actually do during "one day".

You wake up, you train Ciri for this and that, you click on "explore the dungeon" then you go to sleep. Repeat 3475 times.

Of course there are some "events" that occur from time to time but they really aren't a lot of them and it's not thrilling at all.

I liked the graphism and the "fight" mechanisms aren't bad but it just looks like a big waste of time even for a game.

Summary: Literally every Witcher enthusiasts naughty dream come true.

Highlights:

• Interesting and meaningful story, with a well paced progression and cool little twists.
• Well done CG's with various fetishes + Bonuses with other female characters
• Nicely done minigames + Easy mode for people that prefer more classic VN's.

Definitely worth to support, especially considering each update consistenly improves the game.

Rubbish from start to finish. Never has such a good idea been butchered so much. The art is decent at times but the horrible ideas the devs have make the game nice at best and disgusting at worst.

Not to mention half the assets are stolen from the Witcher 3, even some music. Corners have been cut when drawing and ciri as much as possible, but no expense has been spared when illustrating various monsters.

Complete waste of time.

Just one word for this game - "Epic!!"
The comics art style is awesome, consistency in the character artwork that resembles a lot to their original game version models. Plenty of smooth animations. Sticks to its genre of corruption and slave training. Heaven for Male domination and BDSM game fans. Option for inventory and equipment. The dev knows his stuff and derives everything purely from The Witcher saga. Awesome character development and satisfactory grind.

The combat mechanics are balanced and nothing is forced in the game. Plenty of choices that will have consequences in the future (can't wait).

This is a perfect example of how to design a game... has a lot more content than a finished game when compared to others.
A Masterpiece!!

Credit where credit is due, the game is absolutely amazing. I like the artstyle quite well and the fact that almost all of the things are lore-friendly just adds up to the game. The game's full of content that's able to satisfy different fetishes, chapter 3 especially even though i'm not into that stuff and it kind of gets repetitive. Chapter 1-2 were amazing, 3 was okay and i can only hope 4 and 5 will be awesome and i'm sure as hell they will be. Definetely play this game if you're a fan of The Witcher books/games.

An amazing cartoon rendition of The Witcher, the artwork is very well done and the characters are well draw. The game play can be somewhat tedious/repetitive but it allows build up towards scenes and story progression, there are also different difficulty settings as well as a cheat menu to reduce the grind for materials and such. The music is fitting and (to me) quite pleasant, there is also some voice over which was fairly well done.

Overall I would say this is a good couple hours of content while playing on medium difficulty (chapter 3) as I write this, there are a number of lewd scenes and animations the further into the chapters you go so don't give up on the semi grind of the first chapter.

Great visuals and animations! I also like the fact that a lot of the story is inspired by the books and not completely made up. Gives you a sense that this could have happened in an alternative timeline.

A huge plus are the fetishes as well. Especially the monster sex makes this game more unique than most of the trainer games. which are boringly vanilla.

Can't wait for the next chapter. Maybe with some bestiality content like Ciri jerking off the horse as reward for helping her escape lol

I personally found the first two chapters to be a bit too tame for my taste, so I'm really glad we're being given more opportunities to degrade/humiliate Ciri now.

That being said, I could do without having so many scenes that feature Ciri having sex with disgusting monsters. I guess some people must enjoy it though, so whatever.... Just not my thing, I guess (At least those scenes were optional).

Rated Ch 1-3

I really enjoyed ch1-2 which started as a simple, nice "trainer" game, where you slowly get to know the (cute) innocent girl, build up your castle and her magic and fighting skills, trying to pursue her and activating her desires towards you.

Then came Ch3 and the game took a vicious turn from "Trainer" game to flat out "Rape-y" game. Now, you have her locked in your little dungeon, in order to progress the game you need to inflict pain onto her, or rape her daily, or ideally both to make her cum, because in the twisted minds of the devs, that's how women work. Additionally, you can have her raped by monsters or humans, or have her groped in your local tavern. These scenes can even be collected as memorial cards for an in-game card game.

Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely no claim to a moral high ground. I, too, enjoy porn games with sometimes questionable storylines, or watch murder series for entertainment, but flat-out daily rape for story progression is like these games where you drive tanks over prisoners.

IF you like trainer games, ch 3 is not for you.
IF you like rape-y stuff, force and tortures and dungeons, ch1-2 will bore you to death.

Either way your kink goes, I don't believe you will be satisfied.

Edit: Aug 26th: while my critique still stands, I have read that the devs intentionally made Ch.3 disturbing to further Ciri's character development. And there have been attempts to riot against the game, which I personally find wrong, so I give it a good rating (excellent Ch.1-2, quesitionable Ch.3, and hopeful for Ch.4 and beyond)

It really looks like it was inspired by Witch Trainer, but it's honestly better than Akabur's lazy, low effort "games" in every possible way. Much better art, actually interesting story, great music and sound effects, less buggy, with amazing animation.

The best and the only NSFW game about witcher universe. With high quality art and interesting, lore friendly story. It's not you usual 3d porn where hardcore incest sex starts 5 minutes after beginning no matter what you do, so don't expect it. And it's not a linear visual novel, you actually have to use your brain every now and then. Being familiar with witcher universe also helps, without it you won't understand some things.

People voting 1/5 not understanding "why this minigame (?) gets such positive reviews" are likely not understanding anything about games in general.
After all, it only takes inspecting which "games" they like to figure out: a brainless 3D characters game and a "minigame" featuring vastly inferior 2D art...Nuff said.
Back to the serious stuff: I can only vote 5/5.

-Art and Code are both top notch: these guys really push Ren'py far beyond the usual "Renpy cookbook copy/paste" that is so common in the vaste majority of renpy games (that those haters like, lol);

You know these days not many games in pornogame idustry what actually have a 'gameplay' in them... and style and interesting story and characters and... blah, blah, blyat... So if you look for a game what have these or just fun and not mocking you. Then it's one of this type of games. Here develepores do actual job not just some passage project what be forgotten forever in one second after you close the game.

Ok, i dont mention them but you know there not many good trainer games *Wink* Not 3d renders *Wink again* and not inferior in quality to these games.

So explantion of my rating is simple and i basis on what this is a visual novel.
Good sides:
1. Good art. Not 3d renders!
2. Interesting and fun storyline whith Ciri what can be intriguing. So my regards to script writer... or screenwriter... or writer... yeah... i look forward to this story.
3. Some times playing i have a boner... it's an adultgame so i think it's a plus.
4. This game have gallery, its a huge plus for all this type of games!
5. This game have collectables, i wish this was more of them and with other paths to achieve them.
6. Simple and understandable, intuitive gameplay.

Ok, Bad sides:
Really there is no bad sides for me i think.
i dont find bugs for now... So i think yeah dat is all.

Last but not least...
and in the end of review that i except from full game.
1. Multiple endings! you know not just deadends but a really diffrent story branches.
2. So if it's a TRAINER! i think we will see the real character progression like "BEFORE AND AFTER"... so "Ciri before" and "Ciri After".

4. Creative gameplay that can progress and change whith story progress so the player dont bother whith one kind of grind.

Im a Witcher fan, so my review could be not very objective. I like graphics, I prefer 2d more than 3d. Good humor in dialogues, and good storyline. Performance is ok, no bugs faced during the playing. Good amount of content. Hope this game wont stop on chapter 2

The scenario seems pretty good (maybe a bit far-fetched for some events ), the character design is pretty great, music may have some improvements, but globally this game is a promising spout in the adult games garden.

Introduction is boring and unnecessary. Most people are already familiar with the story. The dev could've easily started with adult Ciri outside ready to receive training.

For some reason I don't like the main protagonist being Vesemir. He's too old.

Interface is very confusing and unintuitive. You have to click every item in the room to advance the story.

Art is fantastic.

Gameplay is terrible. You'll just end up clicking everything to figure out how to move things along.

The quest log says "find a sword for ciri", but doesn't tell you how to actually do it. The whole point of a quest log is to help the player achieve their goals, not give vague hints that don't help you advance the story.

The game does a poor job with first impressions.

- i can't figure out how to get a sword for ciri
- i can't figure out how to train her in alchemy
- i can't figure out how to get her new equipment

I will try the game again in three months and gladly update this review.

nice Story and gameplay with a lot o humor and exelent graphics. Looks like it will be a surprisingly deep story, what I like a lot. Tons of content already and although it is just chaptor 1 , it doesn't get boring. I think it could use a bit more balancing because training is too easy and repeditive but earning money takes super long. The game is pretty grindy, so I really like the build in cheat option but it kills the game play. Maybe different modes like easy, normal and hard could do the job, so you don't have just the options to grind yourself to death or to rush through the story.

A lot of potential and already a fun little game! Thanks a lot
