Please don't take a 4 star review as a criticism of the production value of the game because it is not. The production is top quality, probably amongst the very best games on the site. Plenty of quality fap content on top of a relatively engaging mystery plot.

However

I am knocking a star off because this game feels like it takes itself too seriously. I know that's Philly's wheelhouse when it comes to story telling and I don't fault him for it; he does it very well.

I just find it hard to enjoy the game personally when it's so dank and dreary all the time. The game just needs a little more lightheartedness somewhere because the depressing, bleak tone, whilst perfectly fine for one playthrough, discourages repeats.

As games of this type go it's not bad. Most of it is actually pretty good, the artwork and writing are above average. There is definitely some vibes from fiction genre's such as Bladerunner and ShadowRun.

I forgot if I noticed any grammar or sentence issues, i'm sure there was some but not enough for me to really say much about it right now.

The world this created has potential for a lot of different ways to play out the story. It's not as flexible i'd like in terms of play styles but it's as good as any other I could think of for losing some time on, particularly with Covid pillaging the countries of the world.

Played like hundreds of adult games from this site. And this is the first time I'm rating a thread! Because it deserves it and more. It'll always be in my top 3 list.

This has become one of my favorites. Great renders and not only a really tough out story, but a entire universe that could be expanded into various other stories. Will definitely keep an eye out for that dev and as soon as a can, will become a patron but for now, the best my broke ass can do is give it a 5/5 stars.

This game is like a jewel among many others, very impressive, a masterpiece, beautiful heroes and made with soul. Such works inspire to create something of their own, set the level of quality, the author of this game is worthy of high praise

Now the game is complete i decided to try it again and see if it got better, that was a bad move, it got worse.

The story was very interesting at the start but once things start going down you quickly realize its not going to let you do anything you want to do, they kill people on your side but the MC refuses to kill anyone on there side, the plot is pretty repetitive, MC and gang show up to friends place, it gets raided and ends poorly for the friend, they then go another friends place, it gets raided and ends poorly for the friend, they then go another friends place, it gets raided and ends poorly for the friend, it forces women on the MC that totally destroys all logic and established story(and for me was the straw that broke the camels back).

The game has a split aim which only does justice to a more masochistic player, i.e. the women from a romance/sex point of view are simply horrible for any self respecting player as most of the women are simply disgusting and while you can have the MC talk big, that's all you can do with them, so unless you want to date/fuck stuck up, bitchy, annoying, prepaid, traitorous, murdering sluts, well your not going to get much out of this game as there is not much else left.

Sex scenes have bad angles and are zoomed in way too far, its honestly hard to see any of the action a lot of the time.

No matter how hard you try not to take the job, the story forces the MC to because it has to obviously, but because of this having him give up on it so easily is super annoying and its even worse because he doesn't explain why he gives it up right away and when he finally does it doesn't make much sense, having the MC(a seasoned ghost who really doesn't like or trust baynard industries), his ex-wife also a seasoned ghost and Ellen Lane a long time fixer all being fooled by the big corporation with a heart of gold who just wants to help people angle was a stupid plot point to say the least.

The MC lacks any real presence, there is nothing he does that someone else in the game couldn't do(and usually does), he's a huge sucker believing everything he is told even with blatant evidence to the contrary, wont even interrogate women(even combat women), wont kill anyone at all and is super easy to lure into traps(literally betrayed by one woman half a dozen times and she kills his friend but then trusts her again without a second thought).

The ending is pure garbage that leaves a bad after taste,
The art is good but used poorly.

The is probably the best 'erotic' game i have ever played.

The story is intruiging and covers everything from drama to epicness. It is also written in good english.

The renders are phenomenal and represent the dystopian world very well. The character models are lovley and unique (at least i have never saw the models in any other game).

The animation are really good, in addition they are not only sex animations, but sometimes normal movements as well. E.g. driving a car though the neon illuminated city, which improves the atmosphere.

Nothing less than 5/5 stars for the jewel.

An awesome game. The graphics are stellar and the animations...just wow. A pretty good and branching story line. It gets pretty immersive and i cant wait for new updates. Hope it doesn't end up hanging in development hell

I should start by saying this is one amazing game.

You play as Jake, a ghost mercenary that got a lot more than he bargained for after accepting pne job from a old contact. From there the ghost will navigate a futuristic cyberpunk Los Angeles and meet all types of characters in a beautifully done story. The 3D renders are really well done and the same can be said about the animations.

All following a cyberpunk aesthetic. Even the characters like Abby, who suffer from a supposedly random genetic mutation or the femme fatele Victoria and the hulking Henry who both got body enhancements to make them more effectives at their jobs.

Same for the sexbots programed to serve every need, even the virtual transgirl navigating the web.
The game also has a nice soundtrack that helps give the mood of some scenes.

Everything works well in creating a rich and entincing world.

One of few games on this site where the story is what I am playing the game for. I got so hooked on the story that the sex scenes where just in the way sometimes. And that is impressive.
The story is so deep that it makes me want to read a book just about all that happend. I need a AAA game made by a big company to make games with this deep of a backstory for everything.

Incredibly polished.

Everything about this is super slick, after a while daz games can start to kinda all blur together, but something as well done as this easily stands out.

The world/setting is really interesting, I love the kinda bladerunnery/cyperpunky dystopia thing that's going on.

The renders are incredibly well done, as are the animations.

The writing is good and language fluid and natural - I was constantly keen to find out what might happen next.

The music is spot on and fits the setting nicely.

One thing that I'm on the fence about atm is that I hope depravity will deliver in the future. It gets a pass for now as the game is just starting out so despite me building it up at every chance I get then it's fine it's not gotten too wild... just an opportunity for some choking that I found out was due to that stat from some reading here ... but if you've got a stat called 'depravity' and I don't get to do some really really messed up stuff by the end of the game then I'd be sorely disappointed about it.

So while this game is a definitely 5, to be balanced I'll mention some things that I was less keen on:
While the animations are great they are way, way, way too often used to give a panning shot of a girl from her feet up while she slowly turns her head ... it's like every time one enters a room or changes it happens and it gets super cheesy and really detracts from the cool vibe the game builds up.
I'm not that into the main love interests... so there's 4 women that appear in your "contacts" list and so I presume (possibly wrongly) are the ones that'll be focused on... the spunky doctor with the heart of gold (eg massive cliche), the oversexed and overboobed corporate lady (not my jam), the retired singer lady (best of the 4), and the innocent girl on the run (who despite the game trying really hard to make me care about, I just don't)... now that's not to say all the girls don't deliver ... I actually rather like Chandra and I'd have thought she was an important character given I've gotten to sling it in her 3 times already (but again isn't in the contacts list so maybe not) ... or best of all is her friend Abby who is super hot and I was disappointed when she was only around for a second initially, but her reappearance later gives me hope there'll be content with her (lord help me but I can't help but have the horn for a girl with horns).
Last one is that it's probably the kind of game you'd want a walkthrough for, but thankfully given how popular it seems to be then there's a mod that adds highlighted options ingame (man I wish that was just an option devs always included in their games).

So yeah, it's right up there with the best of them atm, just have to hope it keeps up this quality and delivers when it's a completed release.

I hardly ever give a game a solid 5. But City of Broken Dreamers is truly remarkable for a VN.

The game features some of the best renders and animations that I have have seen. Plus it looks Smoking Good on almost any resolution. This is high quality shit here. Once I get a 4K screen, this game at least for me is going to burn a image on my screen of SuperHDD goodness.

Most VN have a generic story which border lands boring. Here is it has sort of a cyber punk feel to it. Here I am engage to find out what is going on and meeting the multiple characters. The game so far has a lot of replayability to unlock different scenes and outcomes. I look forward to see how my actions affect the future.

Another thing I enjoy is the music. Not only in the main menu but through the story. It would be nice if they somehow had voices for cast reading the dialog. But what is there is fantastic.

I have supported them off and on and plan to support the developers again when my finances are a bit stable but definitely worth supporting.

Definitely worth checking out! You won't be disappointed!

The production quality of the game is very impressive, the visuals are beautiful with a diverse and well-designed cast of characters with plenty of raunchy and intimate adult content, and while the story sometimes is falling flat on cliches it is very intriguing and entertaining, has multiple choices in dialogue and story progression and the writing is consistently well written even when venturing in the said cliche territory.

Overall a very competently made adult VN with impressive visuals and quality.


Edit: While the game never lost the quality in visuals which are a treat to look at, the writing which never was that outstanding to begin with has gotten weaker towards the end. The story climax was underwhelming and the characters and dialogue weren't as natural and dynamic as it was initially at the beginning of the game.

Just the absolute best in every way. Best renders I've ever seen, one of the most unique story's in any VN, decisions that matter. I can't say enough. It's just a level about everything else, even the best stuff on here. Being a DIK is the only thing that even comes close. I cant' wait for more!

The only problem is I cant get enough of this, it plays like the best movie i have ever seen, if you thought Depraved Awakening's story was good, this is on another level...

the storyline is legit good,,no half assing it..its like a CGI action movie and a porn flick f'd and made this VN,,lol...two thumbs up!!

This game is AAA quality. Renders are fantastic alongside the models. Use of actual cinematics, either using the models themselves to spice up dialogue sections, or in scene transitions, keep things fresh.

Everything appears to be properly scaled together aswell, and most environments are unique, meaning you probably won't see 95% of the sets used in other games, unlike some, where you'll instantly be able to remember which game you first saw it in.

Story is pretty well put together. It feels similar to Altered Carbon, in how things work in the background and how the city gets set up and explored, nothing truely feels like its wasted, but rather adds to the experience everytime.

My only issue is trying to figure out a good path through the game seems kind of difficult. There is a walkthrough that works pretty well in being able to guide you into making choices to boost your score with some of the girls, but nothing indicates whether it can lead to the good path or the bad path etc. Things are kind of in limbo on which choices will lead where in the future, with different variants overall not feeling that different beyond how you treat situations normaly (be kind vs be assholish etc) it feels kind of like you're going to end up at the same sort of destination no matter what you choose, except you might have just a couple of lines changed to reflect how you've acted before.

Overall, i highly reccomend this game for the art alone, the porn itself is just a massive bonus

This is an outstanding neo noir experience. Storytelling characters and render are all top class. Investigation is exciting. The suspected near future environment is something new and unique. I experienced different routes by choices and you can influence relationships with the girls differently.

Best game on this site .

I love games like this with unique setting ( not just plain old recycled school harem ) where there is an air of mystery and buildup to your fav characters. Not just 'yes girl'.

Amazing render + futuristic settings + hot girls = man's wet dream
