Yeah the gallery unlock functionality provided doesn't seem to work, but https://f95zone.to/threads/universal-gallery-unlocker-2024-01-24-zlzk.136812/ does and can be used in conjunction with this mod without issues.

Hi all my compressed unofficial Android port of City of Broken Dreamers 1.15.0 with scrappy Walkthrough and cheats mod.
Usual gestures, save name/delete, seethru textbox, resizeable game and dialogue text.
Scrollable textbox - no more text off the bottom of your screen
Alternative persistent saves/log location
Grant storage permissions on first run!
**Special Instructions:**

Install apk.
Grant storage permissions on first run!
On first run you will get a prompt to copy the archive.rpa file to documents/Wills747/broken.dreamers/game folder.
(game will quit now)
Copy the archive.rpa file to the directory indicated in game.
Restart the game.
Keep in mind if your default install location is an actual SD card and slow speed this may slow the launch.

Also, keep archive.rpa. I'll likely use it for future updates to minimise the apk size.

RPA File:

You must be registered to see the links

Update Apk v1.15.0:
(RPA file needed unless you still have it from last time)

Try downloading archive.rpa with a solid internet connection or even better on PC then transfer it to your phone.
Without looking at the RenPy files I suspect it's an error reading the RPA file.

I have not tried this game with the mod on Steam. I have however, used mods on other Steam games from here and they worked fine.

After running the game for the first time it appears a black screen with this note : Quick one-time GL2 check. What does that mean because i'm stuck there.
