RPGM - Claire's Quest [v0.27.3] [Dystopian Project]

I have conflicting feelings on this one. I decided to give it a chance on a whim seeing as it had the lesbian tag and the description boasted about player choice. I will say most of the H content in this game ISN'T for me. It seems to have a heavy focus on rape. Even if you avoid it yourself it is still a consistent theme that shows up throughout the game. Which is regrettable. But the game is well made enough that I still enjoyed it and even found 4 lesbian scenes to boot. If any fellow lesbians feel like giving this game a shot. Take the difficult path at the beginning, two of them seem locked behind that path. And I imagine those would be continued in future updates. And of course save often, you never know when you might make a choice that drops you in a situation you'd rather avoid. Stella, Charolette, Sally, and Aiyana are the lesbian options I found. Asluag is clearly also a lesbian but no scenes really as of yet other than a kabedon scene that was admittedly pretty cute. [v0.24.2]

Wonderful RPG game. The different lewd situations Claire gets (forced) into are very well made. If you're in the mood for a sexy adventure, than this is definitely worth a try. You have different approaches and stats to build in the game so it even has high replay ability.
A false note worth mentioning though: there are still bugs in the game, due to the fact that the game is still in development. So save often.
The dev has already successfully completed a game prior to this one, so I'm confident we'll see this one reaching completion as well.

Amazing game with a deep story and tons of different scenes. A lot of different kinks and semi-animated scenes to unlock. The only drawback is the lack of real RPG combat or action. It's basically a point and click adventure transferred to RPGM. Great for what it is though.

This is one of the best rpg porn games out there, the amount of content is impressive, the art is correct, the story is good. The sex content is very kinky and diverse, even too extreme for me at times.

Played the last 4 patches of it and it is truly amazing. The artwork and story are well balanced and things do get pretty interesting as you progress. One of the best out there IMO and you can find it on steam early access too. Can't wait for more from the developer. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

New rating, because I want to be fair. The game is good. Just because it's not my thing anymore, doesn't mean it's bad. If I were an old subscriber, I would be pretty mad that a lot changed to seemingly conform to safe standards and patreon guidelines. Old review is below, but the game is at least a 4/5. Maybe even 5/5 especially for an rpgm game. I just wish they had a darker version on their subscribe star or something. Minor gripe, but it could also use some more depth to their combat/exploration like their other game overgrown genesis.

There used to be a lot of non-con content - something that, you know, made it feel dystopian. Unfortunately patreon guidelines seem to be ruining this one. Many forced scenes have gone the aphrodesiac induced, brainless cum-addicted slut route to make it seem consensual. There is still plenty of content, but all of it seems to basically be hollowing out. If you want great games in what used to be the same vein as this, check out anything from touhou marupon, or LonaRPG. Dystopian project's completed game overgrown genesis is also pretty decent, as it was done before patreon got to it.

Beautiful animations and I love that there's more to do here compared to Overgrown which I love BTW. It has a ton of improvements and I can't wait to see more. I am excited that the world is larger and has more options.

My favorite submissive game on here. Great art, nice variety on the situations you can end up in, with good dialogue leading there.

Appreciate the no combat approach to an RPGM game. A fair few situations early on that will lead to bad ends, but once you get a bit further into it these have lessened off considerably.

Short : Really good game with sometimes not so good gameplay mechanics , but still sooooo worth it, so TRY IT !



The really good part :

- The art is beautiful, REALLY
- there is plenty of fetish, slave, rape, bestiality, monster.... , whatever weird fetish you like you can probably find it here
- Music is good, I especially LOVE the one playing in all Valos town, "Empire of the Highlands" ( and the ALT 1 version ) in the BGM folder ( Here is you want to listen it )
I've even taken it to use it as a background music for some D&D games


Now the part that need improvement :
( I will not call it "Bad part" because there is not REAL bad part in the game )

- The hunger and sleep system is really annoying, only here to slow down your progress
it's a RPGM game, no need to slow down thing, the engine does is very well on his own

- Some bug with some game mechanic, like when you use the camping kit with low hunger, it tell you that you need to eat first before going to sleep, but it consume the camping kit anyway

- What I consider to be the worst thing about this game, you have some scenes ( a lot ) hidden behind stats check without us knowing about those stat check
Especially the defiance stat, some scene require you to have defiance UNDER a certain level to have the scene, and it's indicated nowhere except in the walkthrough
For exemple the slime scene won't unlock unless you have 2 or less defiance... why ? that make no sense
Defiance is a too global stat, it's used for when you want to tell someone to "go fuck himself" , this is a good use, but it's also used to check you physical strength to know if you can escape some situation , this is a bad use
If you really want to have a stats check UNDER a certain limit, then add a other stat : "Strength"
it's more logic to have a strength check than a defiance check for when you need to fight something and that wining or loosing depend on this stat

- Also the number of scene that are hidden far under obscure choices is enormous !
you can't play properly without a walkthough, because some stat check make no sense at all
Exemple: if at the beginning of the game you made the mistake to speak bad to someone just one time, you add a defiance point to your stats, and just because of this SINGLE POINT, there is a lot of future scene now inaccessible unless you loose that defiance point ( which is really hard if you don't want to use the cheat system to lose it )

But I think the dev knew all those problem with stats because he put a cheat system build in game to edit your stats when you want
With this cheat system combined with the walkthough, you can't really miss a scene
But for those who don't want to use a walkthough... good luck



The real problem with those stats is that the game is made to be enjoyed from a submissive path with claire
The game let you choose if you want to be a "slut" or not, but if you decide to focus on the sex part, you don't build up the right stat to progress in the game and you will just have a lot of game over

For exemple, you need defiance under a certain limit to have access to a lot of scene, BUT now you can't progress the main story because you have defiance stat too low
And if you choose to max your defiance stat to always succeed the stat check and progress the story, then you can't see 80% of the scenes that ask you to have low defiance stat
So in the end you end up saving every 10 min, trying something with a certain stat to have the scene and then reload , edit the stats and try again to progress the story

So it's not game breaking, far from it, it's still enjoyable, but it could be better



- All the side quest are pretty good, even if sometime it's a little annoying, having to go from place A to place B over and over again, but eh... it's rpg maker.. nothing new here
And in the end, the sex scene reward make it far worth it

But for the "main quest" there is FAR LESS sexual content and the rest of the quest is just boring
The quest with the crazy noble lady for exemple, I just didn't understand why it exist, it serve absolutely no purpose and have no sexual content in it

- The weigh system is really bad, just with all your costumes, you have already taken 1/3 of your max weigh so yes you can store them in a chest , but.... you have to store them in a chest, so.. lot of time lost just walking to the place where the chest is

- I think the inventory system need a total rework, all items are put in the same list no in any particular order and after a few hour of play, when you have full inventory, you have to search a lot to find the thing you want in all this mess

- The mechanic where each time you enter Valos town, it have a chance to rain and you need to escape rapist is... not funny anymore the 2nd time
If only there was a scene variation or new scene or new enemy why not, but it's just the same stuff again and again, and without a option to skip it

So for my conclusion, this game need :

-Better teleport system to navigate though all map without having to each time walk to the boat
-Remove weight system, it's useless
-A real global map could be nice , you have maps in the walkthrough but you don't see where they are connected so it's hard to know where to exit a map to enter a other
-Stats need to be reworked too to avoid making one small decision that can lock you out of literally the entire sexual content of the game !

But don't worry about all those bad part, they are not so bad that you can't enjoy the game

I still enjoyed this game very much

game is okay but the monster scenes always end up being bad ending. this is saying all orcs and goblins and things are ALWAYS bad which is not true! they can be good too!!!! 5* otherwise! i dont like how dirty men that all look the same can be horrible but they don't result in bad ending!!!

When this game came out it was absolutly amazing, but then something happened to their first artist and now the drawings of Claire don't get anywhere near to that old top level. It's a shame because this game could be soooo good but unfortunately the drawings have been completely botched. A once in a lifetime opportunity for such a game to be great completely eradicated.

It's time for me to do my review on Claire Quest (the version I'm going to review is 0.23.3). I'm pretty sure that claire quest is one of the best games on this site and the best h-rpg so far. But there is nothing 100% perfect except God so I will say the pros, cons, suggestion and close with the conclusion.

PROS:
- Character art is extremely well done.
- the story, both the main and side quests are excellent.
- the difficulty is not high, anyone can play this.
- multiple routes to follow.
- although the game is simple, it has a complexity in claire's personality (currently has 4) and in her physical situation (drunk, pregnant, sick or tired).
- various fetish, so basically you'll find yours here.
- large amount of content.

CONS:
- updates are quite time consuming and don't always come with a good load of content. I know that the claire quest developers have another game, but this game that they continue to support is already finished so the focus should be on claire quest and not the one already completed.
- few repeated scenes, if you don't like the gallery to review the scenes then this can be a negative point.
- a lot of content but almost all of them are open and with no forecast to close, that is, many quests are incomplete.

suggestion:
-add more repetitive scenes. Gallery isn't something that bothers people that much but the fact that claire quest is a sandbox/freeroam and has few repetitive scenes is something annoying and besides, most of the aggressive encounters lead claire to a bad ending and with that you can only see that scene once and then only in the gallery.
- focus more on an island or area and then move on to others, so you finish a piece of content and don't leave them accumulating as they are now.

conclusion:
- Claire quest is an excellent game for those who like sandbox/freeroam where your choices matter the course of your heroine and the flaws of this game go unnoticed due to the positive things that this game has.

Claire's Quest [v0.22.5] is an excellent adult game. I divided my review into 3 parts: amazing things about this game (+), worring aspects which are not affecting current version much (-), and my personal opinion ( P.S.)

1)Players have at list two ways to complite quests: subbmissive, but usually peaceful (not for Claire), and sexualy pure, but more cruel (not for Claire).
2)All games mechanics are simple, working and imersive
3)Despite other reviews 80% of not gameover sex scens are consentual, also game choises philosophy makes other 20% close to being consentual, cause Claire becames stronger/smarter if you are not currupting her, thus rape scens won't occure.
4) Gamedesine, artstile of CGI and charecters are perfectly fiting togever.

1) Balance of MFC stats (which are both personality and skills stats) is the most worring thing. At this moment most of CGI situation play out differently according to 4 stats (defiance,intrigue, depravity and seduction), player can increase them for money, and unfortunatly this can breack immersion.
2)Game is not close to final stage of production

Currently this is the best female MC corruption, monster game, which has decent amount of h content and imersive quests.

The game has a lot of interesting kinky content and scenes. It's even too kinky, because Claire hasn't had a normal, respectful lover in the entire development history, and everything will revolve around rape, bestiality, prostitution, slavery. Everyone sees Claire only as a toy, and she has never had the opportunity to turn everything the other way around and use her seductiveness to her advantage. Probably, this should work for the setting, but variety would be very helpful.

But this very setting, coupled with the writing, plot and lore, is the most exciting and unique part of the game. It is a sturdy, mesmerizing and deeply crafted dark fantasy full of thieves, assassins, tyrants and usurpers, conspiracies, filthy aristocrats, slavers, pirates and just plain rude trash. The prosperous continent is engulfed in hordes of invaders, while the island states have long turned into bedbugs, themselves destroying the remnants of their former greatness. The Rathpike has become a den of whores, bandits, pirates, smugglers, and a slave trader, all under the watchful eye of Zeon, who collaborates with the latter. Valos is ruled by insane aristocrats who are far from this world, who do not see the real state of affairs. We haven’t seen the rest of the islands yet, but I don’t think it’s much better there.

In general, if you remove adult content from the game, then it will be just a full-fledged and independent work in the dark fantasy genre.

The game is just super fun with a lot of content. It is very good that the author has not abandoned the game since 2016. I would like to wish the author success in his work, good mood and creative ideas, and that the content of the game does not end. Respect.

Claire's Quest is a story about a girl being dragged through a dark fantasy setting, kicking and screaming. She's pulled from a comfortable life and thrust into a dark reality of murder, rape and slavery. It's possible to navigate around the pitfalls and keep her safe, but it's realistically difficult for a girl who starts out with nothing but her body and frankly... that's not really what you're here for is it?

While the art is great, the game dives too heavily into kink for my preferences. Bestiality, Futa, slavery, prostitution, rape, rape and yet even more rape is what you can expect from this game. If that's your cup of tea, you'll enjoy your time with it. If you're looking for Claire to dominate men and use her femininity as a weapon, you'll be disappointed.

Honestly... this might be one of my favorite H-Games I've played, and it's not even finished yet. The amount of content already on display is already staggering, and the fact it has no combat and yet still has hours upon hours of things to do is incredible. Legitimately, the only issues I have are small things that could easily be fixed or tweaked.

PROS
- Story is... actually good. It is legitimately good enough to play the game just for fun. The different choices do actually affect the way different quests and events play out, and it isn't always a painfully obvious "be good or be bad." Some choices are genuinely tricky. I actually felt involved in different quests and the story and am excited to see where it all goes.

- Art is very good. All around the presentation shows a lot of care. Menus look good, CGs look good, and everything just feels good aside from very small issues that are, honestly, hardly worth mentioning.

- A lot of content. Right now I am writing this review at V 0.22.4 and it took quite awhile to see everything. It's worth it to explore to see everything.

CONS
- I'm not the biggest fan of the music in some areas. It stopped being an issue pretty quick but in some areas the music is a bit too intense. There isn't too much levity when it comes to music.
- The "cum" sound effect is not my favorite. This is likely entirely preference, though. It's functional, though.
- There are many scenes that are not repeatable. There is a very good gallery feature that can also serve as a bit of a checklist, but that isn't always the same as being able to just naturally have scenes occur again.
- Just a minor bug here. The text is a bit hard to go through. If you are trying to skip text (such as if you are repeating a quest event to see what happens down another path) if you hold the button you can end up accidentally making a choice. Just making it stop at choices would fix this, though.

I am really damn excited to see where this game goes. It is very impressive and the fact it has no combat might seem like a negative feels as if it has actually led to some really creative decisions. Very, very good!

I've played this game for some days and decided to quit. Appearantly, this game is developed by a whole group of staff so it has great plot & lore & lots of content. Compared to other games developed by 1-3 people, this game is indeed on a much bigger scale.

However there's something fundementally "wrong" with it.

1 The name should be changed to "Claire's quest to be RAPED". Don't get me wrong, rape content here and there is okay, but 90% of the content is Claire being raped/rough fxxked is just boring.

Players don't get REWARDED with scenes if they finish the quest bravely or wisely. Most cg needs player to intentionally fail. So basicly if you choose to be defiant/intrigue, then you won't get much sex content. Basicly Clarie is meant to be depraved. Since she's a female protagonist, how can players immerse themselves? I for one, am neither a sadist nor a masochist.

2 The art-sytle. Not saying 2D-art is bad，but it is not beautiful enough to support a high-level game like this. The drawings quickly become repititive. High-quality 3D models & renders & animation should been used at the beginning.

3 The lack of real lovers. Claire should have 4 ultimate lovers to pursuit like in Battle for Luvia, each attribute leads to a different lover in the end. Or have a harem like in Peasant's Quest. Not just thugs, thugs, thugs, monsters, monsters ,monsters.

The game doesn't feel like a porn game with rpg style, instead it feels like a rpg game with some porn added (specificly rape-porn & monster-porn)

Excellent game because of many points. For my surprise, I even remember the story, different plot twists and stuff. Sex scenes are beautifully drawed, I like the style. Different rpgm games have cons like slow game progression (in terms of sex scenes), art, tediousness, but in this game I could spent like 5 hours straight and even more. So, in my opinion it's iconic rpgm game (I mean, maybe not innovative, or masterpiece, but it's better than like 90% of rpgm game. Played a lot of them, and wouldn't name a ten games comparable to this).
