the problem with animated scenes that it is very very time consuming to make, at least twice as long as a static one. it also takes more storage on your computer. long story short, it would either end up less content per update or less updates since it takes longer time.
indeed you need the topgrade from a dog and then wait for Beth questline dev or if you pass by rivermont or did not save Beth, pray for a miracle

you cant atm, the ranch stuff is still being implemented, the only one you can do in the ranch atm is the girl and her horse

I will repeat this question as there does not seem to have been a response and I can't seem to figure out what is the unlocking condition. The message reads "Increased Monster Activity Ahead, the Road to Narfu is temporarily closed" (on going to the Narfu route entrance in the Wash immediately after the Mercenaries / Rusty Shield quest development
You got several places with some, I can't recall, personnally I only got 6 of them, I guess they respawn but did not bother yet as I saw the quest was not finished.
3 when you free Beth and arrive in a grotte, and 3 in a sewer I think it was Argos or rathpike sewer or someting
To answer my own question, went to the Sally's Eatery in North Rathpike to get the Something Fishy quest (re Narfu supplying Sally Eatery with Fish) and then on going back to same entry, the soldier was there and could enter after that conversation, gaining access to the route to Narfu.
Hmm, the grotto at the Prologue, and there is three slimes in the basement of the Inn in Valos... (which don't respawn)... others known?
