More to the point, people are responsible for their own money. Don't sign up for a patreon page you don't actually want to support. You have no one but yourself to blame if money you didn't want to spend gets withdrawn from a system which you knew could do that, did that thing.
No, it's not a scam. Some people struggle with the idea that an independent, amateur production is not going to hold itself to standards even AAA developers struggle and destroy themselves over trying to keep. You can always pay for the finished product if you don't like the patreon model.
I've seen indie studios do more with less. Stardew Valley was made by a single (SINGLE) person in 5 years including everything from art to mechanics and music. Plenty of successful metroidvania on Steam costed less than this game made in 9 years.
If you wanted to make a point you utterly failed especially considering that OG: Genesis was completed like over 2 years ago iirc? People were promised the slow updates were due to "endgame" and that release dates for Claire would have been faster after OG was finished......they got even slower. The comparison to Triple A game is nonsensical if not downright morally dishonest. This ain't a final fantasy nor metal gear solid.
It's an RPGM porn game that ran out of fuel YEARS ago. There is no uber graphic nor majestic plot nor complicated mechanics. It's the same thing that happened with other "ambitious" titles such as kingdom of decpetion and De Luca family. So much passion to begin that gets exhausted after 3/4 years and only gets a lazy yearly update just to fool whoever is still believing there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Not about to tell people who support the devs financially what to do with their money but please, don't tell us this game in anything more than a lazy cashgrab that will never be completed. I've seen people in toxic marriages putting more effort than the devs are doing with this game.
