Im dissapointed the south path is so much worse from a gameplay perspective.
I made 2 runs maximizing possible gains and found that north path enables you to:

1)learn lockpicking earlier,
2)get the animal farm license
3)get infinite gold from inn, as you can loiter in town forever
4)establish history with returning characters such as beth and charlotte
5)recieve just over double the possible stat gains. (+10 vs +21)

Objectively speaking, in gameplay terms the harder route traditionally yields a better reward for completion. Risk vs reward and all that.
The south path is narratively superior and clearly more story-involved, so it baffles me that its made the decidedly worse choice, where both difficulty *and* rewards are concerned.
Its obvious that it is the more recent addition of the two, as it clearly hasnt been playtested enough.

1 year later, i want to ask: are these still true, or is the south path better balanced now?

There will be no more updates this year. At most, there will be high-resolution Art Packs for Patreon. Starting in January, they'll focus on side quests and the first quests on the two new islands. The next update will be released at the end of February and into mid-March.

I hope they finaly stop updating the freaking Ranch. This is the most out of place sensless quest line in the whole game. I mean if ranches where girls milk animals to sell their cum ( i mean wtf for ?!) exist in the game setting , why is such a big taboo for the girls working under Claire and Claire herself ?! Thigs like that are hot if they are taboo not socially accepted like in the game. I wont even go on about Claire buying stimulants , lube , cowboy jeans , hats and boots in a medieval fantasy world.

In case the dev visits here. Bug report: this bug may only apply for Linux versions, since it is a filename-case issue for v0.25.1

In the refugee town, you get to a point where it says it cannot load img file: ui/Stat_Por_Fx.png What I had to do was duplicate Stat_Por_FX.png and change the 'X' to lowercase for the duplicated img.

Normally I don't play these types of RPG's, but I am loving this game! Such great writing and erotic content--keep up the great work!

Yeah, hope the ranch and sisters of fertility stuff is done (haven't played the game in some time, so I don't know the progress). I just want them to focus on the main quest first as I actually find the story entertaining.

Not really unless your a completionist. The extra scenes on that path aren't great in my opinion and not worth the effort.

I dont think 1 route is better. The hard route has a few plus points. You save a character and get some backround story. I think that decides for me to go the hard route, which is not more difficult btw, maybe slightly. For the char development of Claire, the better choice is the easy route. You meet certain characters earlier in the story and it makes more sense, you start in Ratpike and experience more. If you accept the blue ribbon girl getting killed, you go easy route. Maybe save your game before the decision, go south, finish that, reload and go north.

I have two saves, top route 100% current content without cheating. Bottom route I cheated a bit for stats once I got to Valos. Bottom route is easily doable, but you are very "underlevel" for Valos. Also, I don't think you can learn lockpicking without going to Hooktown via the north branch. Could be mistake though. It'll be a while before I finish this other playthrough, so there a lot of things I don't know post prologue...
