Just to clarify, the main(WIN) version links are from patreon (and thus patreon compliant, meaning 'censored' for certain content). The Steam version links are uncensored for that particular content but are perhaps a little behind on updates? Do I have that correct?

No matter what there are complaints for these games.
Dev does X, those in favour of X1 or Y moan on and criticise
Dev does Y, and the opposite.

I am glad when a decent game is not abandoned and generally is playable. Stuff not my cup of tea, well for someone else.

Checking the gamefiles, they seem to have renamed the "Complete edition" to "Collector's Edition" for whatever the reason. It even uses the same color on the top, just changing the name.
No. You have that backwards.
Patreon is uncensored (because it's hosted on their Discord, but requires a Patreon account access. It's very much against Patreon's ToS). Steam is censored when it comes to specific questlines which have been removed from that version.
I wouldn't say an 8 month wait for the Patreon version to be updated counts as "actively updated" when it used to be 2-4 months for updates not that long ago. The waits between versions are getting longer and longer, with more focus on adding side quests than actually finishing other quests or adding main story content - seems like the Dev is just losing interest in the story and game they actually created, and is just churning out enough to keep the subscription money rolling in.

A lot of new things added but also a lot of stuff at standstill for a long time, depends on whether you want to explore new quests but there is a lot of new stuff, especially if you played when there was only one path available.
