Is there a 0.28.2 version of the steam edition? Or some way to swap some files around to make that happen?

Go to the Fairfelts and either pay 500 or do the quest if you have enough intrigue. There are two routes in that, one will give you the book for free and one will force you to *still* pay the money.

Which prologue path? Which island? Which guilds? Which attribute highest?
If all you want to do is watch the scenes, go to the gallery from the menu and cheat enough money to unlock everything. Otherwise there are far to many options that you would need to match up for a save.
I lose my save and I try with the save on home page. But it's full off bug now. I restarted from the beginning but now I don't want to do it again.

This is my most recent savefile. I have restarded a few times myself. In this one i went with the route through the castle. There is a whole lot of content left to do. But at least you wont have to go through the absolute beginning. View attachment file1.rar

I guess. That another patch will be released in a few weeks. And then, like they have for 9 years, they will take a vacation with their family, cut off from the internet for a month, a month and a half. For now, they have provided a guide on how to: run the game on MacOS, Linux and how to use joiplay to emulate Claire's Quest on Android.
If I have a save for version 17.1 and the game is 28.2, will everything be in the gallery or not?

Depends. There's a guy in the gallery that updates your saves so the gallery itself should be complete, you'll just have lower stats on average as a number of stat increasing choices wouldn't have been in your old save's playthrough.
There's a (smallish) chance the save will refuse to load entirely, but as long as it does it will be able to be updated. There may also be some jank involved as going up that many versions with a save means there will be flags and triggers that haven't been set when the game expects they have, but that's gameplay. If you're just using it for the gallery unlocks it should work fine.
