For the same reason, Fenoxo who owns Coc1, coc2, and Trials. gets or was getting 800k which I am not sure it is any more. I know it was about 4 or so months after it first started, the combined total from his donation and patreon was 810k total at the end of each year. You could sell poop, and there would be 100 people per 1 smart person to buy it.
Fenoxo and his team at least release new content on a semi-regular basis. Although you could argue that most of these people are grossly overpaid for the amount of work they do, but of course it is all comes from patrons and donations. Although there is a very curious trends with projects like this, the more money comes in, the less and less work seems to be done month to month.

Only waiting for the inces patch to be updated now :/

I mean look at Diablo Immortal. If Blizzard fans are dumb enough to spend thousands of dollars on a game they booed developers over, do the idiots at Cloud Meadow's Patron really surprise you?

It is not Diablo Immortal It is Diablo Immoral ^^

This game is a SCAM. Do not support it, please.
Don't plan on, unless it was getting descent updates regularly.

Play it, anyway, I say - rather than focusing on what "could be", evaluate what "is". Basically, the game would have no replay value for you; nothing stopping you from playing it once, at least, to have an opinion based on experience rather than hearsay. Past that - not much different from watching an ongoing TV series: once you catch up, one episode per week feels like never enough.
That's what I'm doing, good thing I'm a slow player when it comes to games anyway.

I get what you mean, replayed this game to see what changed after so long but now I'm left wanting more
I don't know how long the game is but I hope it isn't to short because a half cut story is the worse especially when you really want it to continue.

My brother in Christ, if you seriously can't see what is happening with this game (a full on, shameless milking of patrons) then, for your own sake, you should probably get off the internet. Clearly you are either too young or too stupid to be here.
A few corrections:

1. You misunderstood my point completely - where did you even pull "not seeing what is happening with this game" from, exactly? I never said anything of the sort.
2. "for your own sake" - proved the actual point of that post, thank you for that one.
3. "Clearly too young or too stupid" - assumed whatever and went with it as...some sort of insult? Or something? Not sure why you consider that statement an argument.

In light of that, I fail to see what was YOUR point. Could you rephrase it?

Your post is easily interpreted as "people should mind their own business", which in turn implies that telling people to not put their money into a scam, is a bad thing to do. Hence why he assumed you don't think there's anything wrong with the game, because why else would you post that?

itsyeboii My point was actually "people should think before speaking". He says people get scammed - great, I wish to know how he knew what the people donating are paying for. Is he saying they know they keep paying for something they no longer want? Has he even tried to entertain the possibility that the people still paying WANT to pay for whatever they keep getting? Saying something is bad just because it seems bad to you is questionable (did the people feeling scammed not pull out yet or something?). Or is he trying to reach out to people to get them to stop paying?

What WAS he trying to achieve with that post? Beats me, hence my question at the end of the post you quoted. Judging by that reaction right off the bat, though, the "why else" part does not look good - to bash someone; a typical "how can you not see something so obvious to me" attitude.

Sorry if looking for constructive dialogue triggers people. If I were guilty of anything, I suppose it would be failing to see my fault in that.

P.s. not to mention that my original statement was addressed to someone else.

I feel you man, i was in the same situation as you before "im struggling to feed my monster i keep because lack of food n money. The worst part is i was in their discord before n i ask to the team to reduce monster time like 2 or 3 days "one of the team said "yeah keep hoping" imagine when you suggest something to someone irl n he respond you like this!
(Ps: im not farm type player) no point to play this game, you need to become patron to acess the vip a.k.a cheat.

You're overanalyzing quite a bit here. He wasn't trying to achieve anything with his post, he was just saying some people spend money on entertainment/developers that straight up disrespect them, supporting a Patreon developer that hasn't shown any progress whatsoever for way too long will have people questioning why in the hell you keep paying your hard earned cash.

I'm not even going to respond to the last part of your post.

I tend to analyze things, yes - I prefer understanding the mindset rather than reply in the form of whatever you call that last outburst of his.

Seems logical to me that if you question the people paying, you would be asking the people paying ("I'm pretty sure no one who still supports this scam will ever find themselves in this thread" of his further reinforces the point), instead of preaching in a place you, by your own admission, expect to have exactly zero representatives of the group.

What you and him seem to be missing is a simple question of mine: why do you think people still paying are NOT getting what they pay for? All you keep regurgitating is "they keep paying for something they will never get"; all I ask is "how do you know what it is that they keep paying for? Would they not have stopped paying by now had they stopped getting this "thing that they want"?".

P.s. "He was not trying to achieve anything with his post" sounds rather sad, if true.

The answer to your question is that there just isn't any content being made. Your point could work in theory if there were substantial content updates, but we're not talking about a developer who drip feeds content, we're talking about a developer who provides no content whatsoever.

Who in their right mind could say: "wow this 4th update with no content in a row is totally my money's worth"? You underestimate how gullible and/or hopeful people are. Maybe the Patrons are scared that if they stop donating the game will get abandoned, maybe the developer finds a way to convince them, maybe they forgot they were pledging, but I have a hard time believing Patrons are genuinely satisfied with what they're getting unless they're doing some Olympic level mental gymnastics AKA deluding themselves.

"If developer so bad then why Patrons still paying money?" actually get's used a lot on this site but like I said, there's multiple factors as to why people do this. Why do you think so many people gamble? Humans are fucking stupid, including me.

Anyways, plenty of good (and bad) games got abandoned and the people who supported the dev got left in the dark or in worst case, got held on by a thread of lies or empty updates to keep sucking the money out of them, this isn't an isolated case.
