Thx to that guy i tried Princess & Conquest and boi, you can actually play it as a game, not just a glorified gallery of cartoon porn. I think i clocked like 20 hours of P&C since, there is so much more to do. Fast travel would have cut that time three-fold, but i'm okay with that, sorta morrowind experience. Whatever i do there feels like a proper gameplay, driven by the thrill of exploration and curiosity about the world mechanics. For those who wants like just 1 vital comparison between the two games: imagine if CM had a worded description or some bit of dynamic text for each and every scene/interaction it has, including pixel ones - thats wut P&C does. Enter gallery code for CM - boom, you are done, there is nothing else you can do in this game atm, no goals. Do the same thing in P&C and nothing will even happen. To see the gallery you need to explore the world and it took me like 20 hours without a guide just to find the place where i can check all the sexy animations. Now i want to do the related to them quests, because reading adds a certain flavor. Goals.
Hold on tho, i compare these two at all because both games have pokemon breeding mechanics, which i dig in general. You breed them, you mix them a bit and rebreed them, you than gear them and lvl them up - they win your battles and in case of P&C you can even take these pokemons to your NG+ .
And if i had to roughly compare the animation quality it would be something like this: CM HD scenes: Redline; CM pixel scenes Aggressive Retsuko; P&C: Detective Conan.
Redline is infamous for very expensive and cool animation and i think i heard that it nearly bankrupted the Madhouse studio but ppl at large never even seen it. On the other hand you can watch the same episode of Detective Conan for decades.
It will take like a year full throttle for nimbus clowns to achieve such level of filler, even if they put dem drawfags on unpaid vacation, hire 12 writers and scrap the whole dungeons detritus. It is still in the game right? What were they thinking creating that "dungeon" system? I once did 10 floors of this dungeon with exactly the same landscape, it was sickening, i physically felt dizzy. I have like 6000 hours on warframe. I know how to waste time on grind in randomly generated environment, but that was the first time ever when i truly grasped the definition of insanity - doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different result. P&C have much simpler looking world (not as simple as dwarf fortress tho) but its like Skyrim in comparison to CM, with mods even.
Here are few ideas for nimbus:
*Scrap the current system with buying eggs/monsters from vendors. Scrap starting monsters.
*Scrap "dungeons". Get the world map. Navigate it by foot, airships or even quest items. Put monsters into their corresponding regions/islands/clouds/whatever you envision.
*Combat is looking good as it is, maybe add a "battle fuck" utilizing current pixel animations.
*Make a full story for each proto monster character/aka your first breeding specimen. With related quests and mechanics, make the player work for it and want to work for it. All the barn pokemons of those species should come from that original npc character.
*Have an actual plot/endings.
*Whatever the budget for smut animation/porn you have now - make it 0. Getting support from patrons is one thing, basically patreon is charity platform, but going on Steam without an actual game? Relocate those funds into text and start typing about how it feels to take a steaming load from a horse cock early in the morning for the sake of civilized society. The quadrupeds are crucial for the new frontier settlements and the government expects 30 steeds by the end of the year from your efforts. And by the way everything is not going according to the 5-year plan.
