To be honest, if they somehow MIRACULOUSLY manage to figure out a non-boring gameplay loop to match that of Stardew Valley (why even mention modded here?), I think the game - as a game - would benefit from that the most.

Same if they re-did breeding mechanics, instead of "spam eggs, pray for RNG to give you good traits you wanted, sell all of your other newborn slaves immediately for infinite money."

At least tell the important part of the story. The dev from this game was the main artist from Breeding Season, and thanks to some legal bullshit, when he left, all the art that he had done for breeding season couldn't be used anymore. Breeding season was a scam, sure, and the guy left accusing it, but here he comes and does the same thing. This game is in develop for what 7-8 years? He promised 2 years.

Breeding season became a scam BECAUSE of the artist. Prior to that goon jumping in, the game was being developed at a very consistent pace and hbomb made his own art - afterwards, the major limiting factor of development was art assets - as usual for these type of games. The art from the programmer was pretty mediocre, but spurp should NEVER have been given any kind of partnership, only commissions for assets to slowly replace the mediocre ones. Hbomb was doing just fine on his own, his big failing was giving any kind of trust to spurp instead of paying him by the asset. The game didn't make it or maybe barely made it past where it was before the artist joined in the time spurp was being paid.

No it wasn't. Read what Vanilly said, that shit started well before spurple arrived.
I followed it on the forums when it was still a one man project. Progress was quick then. It slowed down when he made a team, which was when the artist was brought on. I don't care to re-read an old drama post by one of the team members that wasn't Hbomb.
