so I'm new to this game and haven't been here for the drama that clearly happened... What (if anything) happened, besides the game being in development purgatory and maybe not having that much porn content?

What (if anything) happened
S-Purple is the art lead and (IIRC?) project lead for Cloud Meadow.

S-Purple was also the art lead for a nearly identical project called Breeding Season, which was in development about a decade ago.

S-Purple worked on it till he decided to jump ship, but not before collecting checks for months while contributing almost nothing in that time.

Due to an oversight in the contracts, S-Purple also retained ownership of all his own art. Which was roughly 90% of the art in the game, not including place holder art that was never meant to be in the final release.

S-Purple quits Breeding Season, informs the project lead that they must remove all his art (because he does own it, after all) and functionally kills Breeding Season.

Can anyone help me with either BepInEx or MelonLoader, i'm having no issues loading both of them by theirself with no mods However whenever i load CinematicUnityExplorer with BepInEx or MelonLoader It Seemingly works fine "at first glance" but then whenever i go to try to click on ANYthing from CinematicUnityExplorer it doesn't register any clicks as if the mod isn't there even though it is there and i can clearly see it, the only thing i can do with the mod is i can drag around the pop ups whenever it loads but i cannot minus them out and i have a hotkey (F7 for me) to show/hide the whole mod but that is currently and as far as i know the ONLY things i can do with it.

Does anyone have any suggestions/work-arounds to get it to work or any alternatives to CinematicUnityExplorer that actually work with BepInEx or MelonLoader? Also, Here's what it says for both BepInEx and MelonLoader if it helps:

How do you get past the steel barricades and the floating rocks? I was anxious to see more forest content aside from Rook.

It'd be relatively simple to track hours worked- there's tons of automated systems on platforms like Github that'll tell you exactly how much work was completed, you can stream your sessions, etc- and if they choose not to, it's probably because they know they're not doing it.
I simply would not log hours if I was my own boss.

(I am and I don't)

I paid for that game on Steam for 20 bucks in 2019.
So much potential. But it's not abandoned, right?
They could absolutely finish it. And at this point it's the bare minimum for S-Purple to finish a single project he was involved in without it either collapsing in on itself from his own arrogance or because he's a greedy snob who resents making art for cash unless he's being paid to make whatever he specifically wants. He might be able to find people who will pass money to him but he's going to spend a long time living in the shadow of the projects he's killed. And that's only if he actually finishes the project. He could find himself getting pushed off Patreon and similar platforms if he fails to deliver ANOTHER project.

People just don't expect CM to ever reach a full release. And because the project isn't garnering the level of support Breeding Season did, S-Purple is probably in a situation where it doesn't make financial sense to keep delivering his overly expensive animated sequences because he's not going to do that for borderline poverty wages. Which leads to a cycle where less content gets released which reduces head count for patreons which leads to less content...

But no, the game isn't actually canceled and it is not abandoned.

What (if anything) happened, besides the game being in development purgatory and maybe not having that much porn content?
I also left one part out that I was reminded of when I was looking up how much Breeding Season could pull monthly on Patreon, which was apparently ~40k monthly. Because S Purple's contract made him an equal partner he was also entitled to half the company's pot for funding. He didn't just rug pull the game's primary art assets and ruin years of work, he also made off with half the company's liquidity. And of course he then threatened HBomb, the guy who gave him a job and made Breeding Season in the first place, with legal action if he didn't go along with all this.

Le classic. i Paid 20 bucks for FF in 2016. There are some guys who donated jasonafex in 2015. Yeah everyone thought western ero game scene was bussin during obama end in office and in year we gona have tons of good games, too bad it was brutalized by fenomenaly lazy, borderline scam, devs, and now we back where we started: praying to Japanese ubermench and wondering why guys from west cant do the same.

Japanese devs rely heavily on a relatively low cost of living- a cheap apartment can be had in Tokyo for around 500 bucks a month- and some specific social quirks to stay in business. There's tons of adult children in Japan who basically don't work and live off the family money because the average Japanese household is notoriously stingy with spending. So it is usually the kids who inherit their parent's money.

And the reality is that most eroge developers are not successful. Alicesoft is basically in a class all its own because developers in that industry typically live and die within a decade. And even that's a good run.

...And Alicesoft itself has had to go the route of microtransaction laden gacha games.

I understand all this, but at the same time average western dev is also having pretty decent living condition for working on his project. What im saying is that average western erogame either dies in version 0.0.0.3b or just getting milked infinetly until the end of times, because some rich kid forgot to cancel his moms credit card subscription.

I can name tons of good japanese ero games that was made in last decade(and i mean games as GAME, not vn or text rpgs), western games? Maybe 5 or 6.

Doesn't this developer live in Hungary and not US etc. though?
It's not as cheap as a 3rd world country, but definitely cheaper than the US.
