He killed BS and refused to sell the assets to the guy because he claimed the BS dude would scam people on patreon by sitting on the art and just bugfixing things while the game never got finished

I had high hopes for Nephelym being a successor to breeding season. Still think the art and animations are pretty good but as far as gameplay it seems to have been stalled for a while. As the above updated stated, cant believe cloud is still getting support. Dev are just strait up scamming at this point with the last 5-6 updates having almost 0 new content. Easier to find and fix and infinite amount of bugs so you can keep collecting money.

This is more like an "Anti-Update". He put something in but only half-way untill a "possible future update" that may be in like 6-7 years. This shit needs to stop.

Nephelym has so much going for it... unfortunately they decided to make breeding just a level grind instead of the point of the game. In BS, smart breeding would eventually lead to extremely powerful offspring. In Nephelym, the offspring of any mated pair almost always had fewer traits then either parent and the trait levels would mutate down instead of up. Nephelym is a breeding game that doesn't really want you to breed things, it wants you to go sit under a spawner and hope something spawns in that matches the stats/traits you need.

You know this is the few places people can call out this kind of huge scam projects?
Not to mention with or without F95, Cloud Meadow will always retain the scheme they are pulling, since they are really good at that, which is also the purpose of this project.
Without law/rules to regulate these "crowd-funding" frauds, the least we can do as consumers is spreading awareness.

well to be specifically about cloud meadow game, this has been started since 2016 in their patreon page so the game has 7 yrs still in development.

as for Breeding Season game it has been 10 yrs now.

This is insane how this game gets little to no art added with every update. And what I thought would be a very small part of the game (the dungeon crawling) is trying to be made into the main game now. Such a disappointment. Everytime I would see this game getting hoisted in Latest Updates I would get my hopes up, see the changelog and get disappointed again. But now I just get a little sad seeing it in Latest Games without even seeing the changelog.

Part of the reason why their scam went wonderfully successful on steam is because many steam users also consider themselves anti-piracy and never want to associate with sites like this. Prospective buyers can only evaluate their purchase decision based on steam reviews from ppl who already bought it, who never know about any of the drama, history, and even the development time it has taken... all they know is that the game is updated monthly so it's fine. it'll be 3-5 years until they'd realize this is a scam and by that time there'll be fresh new blood (or cashcow) to be milked for another 3-5 years.

This place clearly does not stop anyone from giving the dev money as we can see by years of continued donor support. A rube is born every minute who would pay for this stuff, but that doesn't bother me. What I believe to be concerning is the culture among the dev class for this type of game, where you have the usual devs that just lose steam and move on, but also this rogue element that wants to scam anyone they can. It's a culture that taints what could otherwise be good projects. I'm not going to get up on my high horse from a pirate site though, but a pattern has emerged.

People are tired of seeing this thread pop up with another nothingburger update and burying legitimate projects only to have the problem exacerbated by a bunch of people piling in to bump the thread with hottakes about a game that has been spinning it’s wheels for 7 years. F95 doesn’t really have a good way of handling a situation like this, but at some point enough should be enough.
