This - These are some of the most god-awful ugly monsters I've ever seen. Too "furry" for human-lovers and too "human" for furry-lovers. I don't know who they're supposed to appeal to but so many (if not all) of the male designs are absolutely atrocious.

There's some content to play around with, but overall the game is still very much unfinished.
The farming mechanic is not really well rounded. The 'breeding' is kind of a mess. Just RNG rolls until you get what you want to provide a time-sink.
But really, even if you grind out the RNG mechanics, and get your dream team of favorite monsters, there's not really much to do with them.
The story is funny, for sure. The writing is okay. Nothing too terrible, and there's gay and futa shit if you're into that, but as a game? Nah. It's not there, and we don't know that it'll get there. It doesn't look like it.
Give it a shot if you like, but under no circumstances would I recommend you buying it on steam or supporting them on Patreon. They'll just wipe their ass with your money.

What's the actual story behind this game? Did the lead artist get fired and now the rest of the devs are just pretending the game is still in development.
I wonder if they'll ever add in more regular sex scenes instead of the sprite sex scenes.

I think so, but you need to be well aware that the game is unfinished.
While that may be a severe understatement, it can still provide a good bit of fun for a relatively short duration depending on where you will personally give up on the game.
The models are nice and what little (normal) animations there are, they are well done, which is why this game can muster the support that it has. It looks visually pleasing. Including the combat, which while also incomplete and would love to have more skill variety, it's actually pretty damn nice as far as adult games go with a very solid challenge on higher difficulties IIRC.
All in all, yes. I think it's very much worth your time if you like the core concept of breeding games, but it's important to understand not to expect a complete experience. Do that and I believe that one can prolong the fun they have with this game for a surprisingly long time before the large amount of problems will inevitably pile up.
