Has anybody won in the free play mode yet? Or is it made so the player has a low to no chance of ever winning on purpose, that way the lore is that the game is never ending?

it's possible. just quite a lot of luck on how you land every dice every turn.

I won't do all the math, nor explain everything. More, the main reason for why you get that feeling, is because we normally focus on other things (Get more effects, pregnancy stage, and so on).
Just remember you are 1 out of 4 person, so by logic and default, you have 1/4 chances of win. Just because there is 4 players.

Ok am I dumb and missing something? I literally can not select search no matter what button I press. I can see it pop up when clicking on the backpack or cupboard but the only thing I can do from there is close the menu.

Yeah I can pretty much do everything else but I can not click search. I'll click enter on the bag or cupboard and it will show
But from here clicking Z/Enter closes the menu. WASD/Arrow Keys when moving around the map work but do nothing on the menu if selecting it is how I'm supposed to proceed. Trying to click it with my mouse makes me walk away. C also does nothing so I'm completely lost.

well quick question have you played their other game since that also has the same control setup so i don't know if that one worked for you or maybe something else. so Z suppose to be the confirm button not the cancel/back on which is suppose to be X

There isn't any problem.

As I can see from Nanami still been in the first room, you are at the start of the game.
In this face you can't search anything, since the loot is generated once you start playing the boardgame (Main game). By that time, the game itself will tell you if you need to search around the house, and THEN, the loot is generated.

Just talk with the girls, and then go down stairs.

Ah I see thank you. I actually ran into it when the lights went out and assumed that was when you are really supposed to be searching. It not being selectable at all but still showing up threw me through a loop but I'll take the L on this one I should have tried more.

AFAIK this one is pretty much done. All the chapters are complete, the epilogue is finished, and the freeplay mode. Maybe you can bug the author about patching some glitches but that's about it. This was supposed to just be a small little gaiden game while the author works on the main one.
