Yeah, I think you’re right to be skeptical. In theory you could feed an AI a Twine game’s HTML, but in practice it probably wouldn’t work very well. Twine games are full of branching paths, variables, and bits of logic that depend on player choices. That kind of structure is hard for a model to track or “play through” accurately.

Even if the AI could read all the passages, it would still run into token limits. Tokens are basically the chunks of text an AI can handle at once. Every word, or even part of a word, counts toward that limit, sort of like memory space. Once you go over it, the AI can’t “see” or process the rest. For a big Twine game, that means it would probably lose track of earlier sections or skip over details.

It might be able to map out some of the story structure or summarize the overall plot, but a full, accurate walkthrough of a large game isn’t really possible right now.

I think people have a very wrong understanding of what 'generative' in it's current state really means.

At best AI has reached the level of a small, very young child. It might look more sophisticated for the uncritical mind but it is in fact not much better than that. So while you often can get the impression that a child seems to be pretty far in it's development, it more often than not just mimics what they observe the adult are doing, without actually understanding the process behind it all.

AI is very much the same in many of those aspects, which gets obfuscated especially when AI deals with longer texts or complex issues. It creates results that seem to make sense (it is a logic based system after all) but the level of failure is actually very high. It often omits things and especially in summaries this is easy to get away with if you never read the original to begin with.

So in terms of your actual question: You are right to think 'no'. Cross relations are very difficult to keep track of especially in terms of how they are represented. AI is great with 'normalised' data but awful with most free language. If the AI in question would be capable of deep learning it might be possible, but the current state is nowhere near that.

I very much appreciate everyone's experimentation / explanation in regards to my thoughts! Looks like the best way to explore the game is by doing things the old fashioned way - gooning until the end of time.

I am always baffled how younger generations manage to create words that totally flip the meaning: in this case 'unhealthy obsession' becomes 'gooning'

I think... even comparing it to a child is not correct. It can't generate anything it hasnt seen before. It cant experiment with new inputs. It's basically a big database that can handle all kinds of exotic inputs/outputs that a normal database can not, like images, text, audio, video, etc.

The impressive part about AI is that it can create relations between all these exotic inputs/outputs and how it creates them with the caveat that there is no way to mathematically verify it.

AI is basically very very good at cheating on a test. Knows all the answers, but doesn't understand them.

I have been playing this game for a while and I really enjoy the premise and the lore built up so far. One thing that I still have not figured out despite multiple play throughs is Rio reaction to the Green light at the party on the second or third Saturdays.

Typically the green light shows the future but in Rio's case, the effect is immediate. Is this due to her awareness of the lights, a hidden kink\desire or just a simple plot hole that still to be resolved?

Absolutely. The details of how, however, will have to be provided by someone else. The drawback of juggling multiple saves has caused this process to be mixed with others for me.

Fun game, but I wish the videos were high res and took up more of my screen. on my 1440p monitor the whole interface including video only takes up the top left quarter, maybe 2/3rds if there are multiple clips

Statistics from Steam. Have a look at resolutions. Since Steam is one of the bigger hubs of a large user group, this is usually a good indicator for devs what to support as base and what becomes luxurious add-on

This doesn't even need dev time, whatever scenes they clipped were probably from high res sources, I hope they release a separate HD video pack that can just be copy pasted over the original files

There are alternative packs for a few actors that use higher resolution if I am not mistaken. But that is practically a Mod and since the dev provides all the model names it should be an easy job to replace whatever video one isnt satisfied with with something else.

My main point is not that higher resolution is bullshit but that from a dev's point of view higher resolutions are not achieving anything new in terms of developing the game itself and the majority will run the game in a single tab and not full screen browser anyway. The text is the main feature, the graphics are only supportive here.
