Just played through the first few episodes. Its...fine. I think the writing waffles between genuinely funny/entertaining and really stiff. I get that its a porn game, but the relationship aspects of it make me want to enjoy engaging with other characters, to really earn those scenes. There isn't enough uniqueness to differentiate the interactions (Gina wants you to praise intelligence, Foxy looks, Bridgett wants sarcastic banter, etc.), and the passable-at-best VA dulls whatever success might come from "advancing" a relationship.
The art is bad, and by that I mean glossy and off-putting. I used to be a big fan of FlowerXL's art back in the day, and its really sad to see how fully they've leaned into AI. There's no uniqueness to anyone or anything, no sense of personal "style"--it really is like someone took FlowerXL's old art, blasted it with a powerwasher and then injected everything with the most generic and unimaginative plastic surgery money can buy.
The proportions are also freaky--I know folks are into that kind of thing, but Vanessa was an immediate turn-off for me. A touch of realism goes a long way, from the proportions of characters to the way that they dress in day-to-day settings. Again, I know this is a porn game, but building to the sexy moments is an art--its a shame when every character has see-through shirts and midriff from the moment you meet them, instead of slowly building tension until you finally see that first bit of sexy skin (the first date with Kelly! Gina at the beach! Bridgett in the weight room! etc.). This really dulls the excitement and climax of getting to those sex scenes, something that the narrative pacing otherwise does a decent job of (applying sunscreen to Gina's back, and maybe feeling brave enough to grab her ass, was a great moment of sexual tension).
The phone is my favorite part. Getting to text everyone, look through Insticum, and generally manage your little digital life genuinely brought back the thrill of being in college, surrounded by hot girls that you could digitally flirt with while stuck at work. More of this!
There are better dating sims out there. There are better porn games out there. There are better dating sim porn games out there. But I wouldn't be writing this if I didn't think there was some promise here. If the art can get good and the dialogue writing can get kicked up a notch, I'd consider supporting this. Otherwise I'd much rather play something like Aurelia.
