sorry for the bad English (google translator)

i don't believe i'm the only one who has this problem...
for speculators -> Falcon-mkxp.exe only black screen even with mod

1280x720 screen --> a large part of the display is wrong
1280x960 screen --> only when i press F5 can i see the elements --> i don't like fullscreen things

plus in both cases there are black bars on the edges which degrades the graphics part of the game even more
it's obvious that you have a mistake when switching from 4:3 to 16:9, fortunately i can set the resolution to 4:3 but it would be good if this mistake (4:3 window is fixed to 16:9) and if missing parts of the graphics didn't occur....

Hello Crazybat!
Do you aim to do a Teaching Assistant Stage 8 in which (logical step) May and the Teacher would be gangbanged by the students?
Thank you in advance for your response.
Happy New Year 2025!

I´ve been running into some annoying issues... These past few days the game was running just fine, no crashes and overall minimal problems. But today I noticed the game suddenly boots up extremely slowly (as in it takes a really long time for the game to pop up after clicking the .exe), and during H-scenes the game often randomly freezes up altogether giving me the "program has stopped responding" error and resulting in either a very long freeze after which the game starts working again, or alternatively it just crashes and shuts down.

Any idea what's going on here? I've tested several other RPGM games to see if the problem persists but it only seems to be happening with Coming of Age. I already tried redownloading it which didn't fix anything so I'm not sure what the problem is..

Make sure to use the falcon exe not the game exe. if its extremely slow still turn off cars and day/night cycle in the settings.

Yeah, I hit that stupid principal bug where it says to "report to the principal after class" but the interaction is not available.
However, turns out when you load the game using game.exe instead of falcon, it suddenly works just fine and you can progress.

I have been using the Falcon exe from the start, the game itself runs fine. The problem isn't turning things on or off, it's that these issues appeared out of nowhere. One day it's fine, the next I'm getting random "program not responding" errors and the game taking ages to boot up.

Program not responding sounds to me like a problem with your pc. As you said it worked fine and now suddenly it's giving problems. I've never had the program not responding and I also don't see heaps of people reporting any issue's with it either.

Could be a software or hardware problem. Some other piece of software like a virus scanner might be trying to interact with it causing it to slow down. Especially since you mentioned it's slow to boot up. (*unless there some problem with the drive that it on.) That just doesn't makes any sense, since the program is tiny.

I was unable to reproduce the problem with the save you provided. I've loaded your save with both falcon or game, but it worked just fine for me. Might have been a glitch.

I know what you mean, and I'm genuinely puzzled by this issue. I've tried quite a few other RPGM games at this point and none of them are having these problems. I also doubt it's a hardware problem since I have a high end pc that I built barely half a year ago. While I would like to say it's a problem with the game, I'm having my doubts on that one as well since the game ran just fine for several days before this started happening.

I didn't make any major changes to my device either and I'm not running any kind of invasive anti virus or anything like that so I'm honestly running out of ideas as to what could've suddenly caused this (which is why I decided to ask about it here, hoping someone might come up with something I may have overlooked).

Sorry, but your post is very hard to follow.

The game uses 1280X960 resolution (4:3). So ofc it won't work properly on a screen that only has 1280x720 resolution.

It will never fill up the screen on a 16:9 resolution so black bars will always be present on a 16:9 screen. Avoid using alt+ enter to go full screen with the game.exe. Use F5 or F6 (windowed) (Falcon-xp.exe is the exception, since Alt + enter is default to go full screen with falcon-xp.exe)

There's also a section about full screen in the readme that gives hint en tips.

Wish I could be more helpful, but I don't have a clue either what's going on here.

Well good news, because I just decided to fire up the game again to test a few things and the game booted up as normal. I'm now leaving it idle during an h-scene (since that's when it usually broke) to see if it freezes up at any point but so far it's been running for about 15 minutes without any freezes or crashes.

So even though I'm even more confused now, the problem seems to have gone away on its own somehow. Guess I'll just wait and see if it starts happening again at some point.

In any case, thanks for the replies!

Just a thought in passing. May not be relevant to your issue, but you might want to check it out.
I recently acqured a small tool called 'Clip Grab' for downloading vids. (I keep Task Manager in my system tray, Win 7, to keep tabs on resources in use.) Found that even after exiting the program, I was still using 25% more comp resources. Digging into Task Manager processes, found Clip Grab loaded a 'Quick Time' process, but didn't end it on exiting. Ending the QT process gave me back that 25%. Is it possible you've something similar? If you rebooted between COA runs, some similar left over process wouldn't necessarily have started, restoring COA speed to normal.
