My feelings are largely similar. When there's content that I dislike or don't have an interest in, I either avoid it or skip through it. But I don't have a fit and complain. I find foot stuff to be completely unsexy 95% of the time, and just skip skip skip until its over, but the fact that its there doesn't ruin the game for me. There was a time when it seemed like all of the better games included it, for whatever reasons, and so if I just skipped every game that had it at all, my options would be pretty small.I really don't blame those complaining though... product of the system. The real problem IMO is mods using the kid gloves when it comes to this stuff. The fact that asking "is it avoidable" has been normalized as a question is striking to me. Such an arrogant position to start from.
PGJ's shower thoughts for the bored, skip otherwise-
Every game with fetishes present has a "fetish footprint" for those fetishes. By footprint I mean stuff other than the actual sex scenes from which you can tell that fetish is present.
-For stuff like incest games, this fetish footprint is usually very large, you can't get through a conversation without shit like "but she's my [charLandlady]!"
-Hard NTR games generally have a large fetish footprint, while the type of sharing/swinging games I like best have a very small fetish footprint. Outside those scenes, you wouldn't be able to guess that content was neccesarily in the game.
-I know within the ntrs community, feelings about IR-focused sharing are split, some like it, some hate it, some don't care. I myself don't like it, these games typically have a large fetish footprint. Every other scene the characters have to tell you about how they love bbc.
-On the other hand, foot fetish stuff is an example of a fetish I don't like yet typically has a pretty small fetish footprint. Outside the actual sex scenes, usually there isn't paragraphs and paragraphs of text dedicated to mc admiring toes and soles.
All in all, I can play games with just about any fetish present as long as their fetish footprint is kept small - it's easy to skip through sex scenes. When it gets annoying is when the fetish footprint is big, and affects every aspect of the game. It'll be my goal while making my own game to try and include a bunch of stuff, but keep it from spilling into main story.
The games that I completely avoid are ones that are clearly based around some variety of dom/sub and/or BDSM content. That's a very hard pass for me. But again, I don't go into those threads and raise a stink about it. Its just not where I belong.
