I am conflicted about that. At the very least they could send a Luigi.EXE.
Someone smarter than me needs to explain why the version about Pokemon cosplay girls was a problem with Nintendo or whatever but this version about different Nintendo cosplay characters is fine so far.

Considering it got a big DENIED for a Steam release, I don't think Valve shares their opinion on 'legally distinct'.
Really Valve is probably being extra cautious after the Dolphin Emulator debacle.
As detestable as the changes were it sucks that Steam is refusing to sell the game.

What’s odd is the posts they wanted us to delete—none of them were from the current version of the game at the time, and some were just random older versions.

back in 2015. However, after that, he stopped and removed all references to it, switching to wholly original characters from then onward. Its possible he also got a DMCA and switched things up, but that is purely speculation though as I have never spoken with him.My theory is that they simply search for any copyrighted names or terms. A few of the posts they flagged for removal were just pin-up images, but they had official names in the titles, like Sobble and Grookey ect.
Parody is fun and its a shame that Nintendo is so overzealous about it. My advise to any creators is to avoid using any copywritten names. You can still make parody on designs and characters just do what porn movies do and make pun names/edits.

law states many things on legality of ripoffs:
most notable music must be at least 10% different, but also must not be recognisable by a casual listenner, not even in part.
for names, looks, plots and everything else: it must be 30% different.
so a person called Zelda with an outfit that's 30% different from any of zelda's outfits still wont be good enough, but "Zeldini" changes things because it's more letters and drops a letter, making it 3 letters different in a 7 letter name making it greater than 42% different. so it's legal. still some emblems and facial attributes needed to be 30% different as well. even the costume's clothcut should be 30%+ different.
if you want to use an exact character then you need to essentially use it for comedic parody. but if it's an exact copy of a game or a blatant ripoff of a game with nothing more than jokes roasting said game, then you better not be making money off it.

Man, I haven't played this game since it was in version 0.07 or something, seeing all the new stuff was a lot of fun. Pheobe was easily my favourite character; she's such a bastard, it's so fun to watch her antics. I do hope some future version takes the time to go back and update the older character models, seeing all the newer stuff and then going back to Vanilla's 360p-looking-ass always gave me a bit of whiplash.
Anyone try to play this game on android by using winlator, Dos or flash emulator,... If have some emulator work. Please!!!! Tell me, i want to play this game but i dont have a laptop at the moment it gonna take fucking long to get a new laptop
