I didn't notice, because I started with a save that already had a companion, but can image the raids would be bad at the beginning before getting your first girl. The changelog did say ...
  • Bunker raids - the more people you have inside the bunker, the lower the raid chance

Brings up a question... I wonder how many people we can get in the bunker. I think I was only able to get 2 girls at the most but that was
the last update.

I just restarted for the heck of it...and so I could just take the most expensive items when setting up my character..that way I could sell them to the trader and get more food/water

You can currently have up to 3 companions and have for several versions. If not mistaken, at one point the dev said we would be able to have more companions after completing a run of the game ( building and using the radio ), but currently that only means you can start a new game with companions you have found in previous games, instead of having to wait for an event to find one.

You do know that humans have a natural healing tendency. No one bleeds for days once a single cut is done. You already make it impossible to get a first aid kit. Now a single cut means fucking death sentence.

You do know that you can put a bandage on the cut to stop the bleeding, you don't need a first aid kit.

soooo like when are we gonna get the first male companion or is it only gonna be women. because so far the gay content is nonexistent
If there's a gay interaction, it's with a black NPC who asks you for water. Interacting with him gives you the option to make a deal to have sex with him, but of course, he only lets you be the active partner in that interaction, because in threesomes he only lets you be the passive partner. There definitely needs to be more diverse content so the sex scenes don't get boring.

The latest update basically killed the game for any gay player, because there are no male companions available. So you're stuck either accepting a female companion, or getting endless raids until you inevitably die.

Dev, please consider either reverting the latest change, adding one or more male companions, or implementing some kind of construction that can protect from raids.

interesting game. after completing it once there is really nothing new to the game as you start over with 1 more spot for a girl.
There needs to be a bit more, and also those companions as you describe them, could the be more worthless? you get nothing out of them. even the sex is more interesting during the random encounters. and 1 random encounter every day at 10am. and nothing more or less? that gets boring quite fast. the stats make a very little sense to me. is there a cap? is there a purpose? why cant more than 1 person go looking for supplies.
the items you take on exploration make very little sense also. i get that a bag and briefcase increase carrying capacity but what does the rest do? why does everyone walk around during day, but you can go out only during night?

You're right, it is an interesting game. And since it's still a really new game there's no telling
what directions they will take it. Seem to be quick enough updates as well so far.


I've been paring down my collection and the first ones to go are the ones that only get updated once a
year or so.... I just have too limited of an attention span for those....lol

Actually, as far as I'm aware, a new start doesn't currently give you 1 more spot for a girl, just the chance to select unlocked girls to start in the new game. The girls actually give a bonus in one of the three training options and supposedly having more companions lower the chance of your bunker being attacked each day. There is some information in the about section that may answer some of your questions, such as; the flashlight is supposed to increase your chance to find things when exploring, gas mask reduces damage from certain events, stealth suit may reduce the chance of getting attacked while exploring, etc.

game still needs a bit of a balance change. seems like im constantly going to get food. cant trust companions either, because they'll still get killed off even if they have something like 80 strength. for strength it also seems to cap out its effect. if you continuously grind the stat there will be no increase in damage, nor increase win chance for companions to 100%.... which means you can never rely on your companions.

greenhouse does not help at all... you spend 3 water for a measly 4 food... that takes 3 days. its good when you have a bunch of water, not good to rely on.

also companion increase doesnt work sometimes. It'll go back to 3 max companions. idk, if it's reloading a save that causes that or what.

every time i finished the game and got a new term my companion slot increased from 3 to 4. i had 3 girls last time and half the time i returned from scavenging i had an enemy waiting for me at home. But i no longer returned to having my items stolen. as for stats. you get to around 50 each before any companion turns up. training with or without them is pointless at this stage as more stats dont really do much anymore. you also get steroids or books much easier.

I disagree about training being pointless, particularly for endurance, because you can never have too much health, and higher intelligence does help in some events, but personally strength could be better used to increase damage and maybe be able to carry more back. I've made a few suggestions for new items etc. on this thread and hopefully the dev will consider them.

true endurance is useful, but str over 50 is not adding much. intelligence might open some alternate solutions to daily event, but those usually end up with getting stuff, which you could get if you defeted them or stat boost which is useless.
i have only played the version here so i dont know what is going on on the more companions.
more variety to items and buildings could improve the game. like each companion could unlock a special building that is specific to them.
