hehehe. Neither. I thought about doing UT in a sandbox style for a whole minute, but came back to my senses. IDK, to do multiple story paths effectively, you almost have to give players the option to go anywhere anytime, but I know how much some people hate having to navigate a story this way. As a selection mechanism to go from one self-contained fap-event to the next, it can make sense. I blame sandbox's poor rep on the failings of devs to effectively utilize the structure, falling back on old tropes like grinding for stats/money and continuously repeating events. Or worse, the inability to play without constantly consulting a quest list, where it might as well have been linearly presented.if you go, either NTR or Sandbox
Almost as bad are linear games where several times a day you're presented with a list of 10-12 menu items to select what to do next. Sandbox in sheep's clothing.
Oh, and I don't have real strong personal feelings about NTR one way or the other. (Netorare, definitely not. Netorase, maybe not. Netori, okay within reason--depends on the story.) I had one person accuse Confusion of NTR because Chris dated Izzy. Even though it's a story point that nothing ever happened between them. Even though she and Alex weren't a thing yet when it happened. The accusation was that they could picture the possibility of it having happened in their head, and it turned them off. It takes all kinds.
