When can we expect chapter 10 ??
It's coming. I had help in previous chapters, but those devs have since moved on to other projects, so I've been completing this on my own. The finale includes both Chapter 10 and the Epilogue, which makes it almost twice as long as the other chapters. I'm working right now on completing the last two scenes, and will then start in on animations which will take a couple of/few weeks. I'm still aiming for this spring, but am not confident enough yet to announce a final release date.

Take all the time you need.
Don't rush it.
Quality require time to be achieved.

Northern Hemisphere Spring, I assume?

Wasn't a steam release in the plan or am I mistaken? I can't find Confusion there right now.
That was the original plan. That was back when it was going to be Early Access, and when Chapter 10 and Epilogue were going to be released in two parts. The current plan is to wait until the current version is done and post it as a finished product, then add features that will be unique to the Steam release (more scenes/animations, achievements, etc.) I want to get the finale finished and am having a hard time justifying peeling off time to develop all of the ancillary marketing materials I need to set up an "add to your wishlist" page on Steam. Like I said, back when I had help this would all have been much easier, but as it stands right now things will have to wait their turn. ⚧️

I finished playing the game last weekend and I just want to say that I really do appreciate how you're been able to handle some heavy subject matter. Will be keeping an eye out for the next release

Damn, does anyone have recommendations for games that focus on similar stuff like this with a trans protagonist, to keep busy until the next update?

With the 'good' and 'evil' choices giving points, is there a gauge where you can see how many points you have gained per your choices?

The story doesn't exactly work like that. It's more about thresholds than it is about "achieving" anything. In other words, the more often you choose bolder options, the more likely it is that you'll have options opened up to you further down the road.

The first versions of Confusion didn't have any notices at all, and I never wanted the player to see anything as choices were made. I wanted the player to experience the story as it might affect them, not as though there's some "grand prize" for making the "correct" series of choices. But as illustrated so beautifully in The Stanley Parable, if there are "points" to be had, players will want them even if it doesn't make sense to "collect" them.

So I capitulated early on to showing when a change in status occurred. But they're not "points," it's not about collecting anything, and I don't show any totals because it doesn't make sense to. The notices will tell you when something has changed and how much relative weight the change had, in case you want to step back and choose a different option, but in the end it more affects the flavor of the storytelling and less the content. To be fair, there are a few scenes that are dependent on your previous choices, but those are outcomes based on decisions you make, like if you choose to end ties with someone or don't do a particular thing, as opposed to "how many points you had at a given moment." Does that make sense?

Perfectly! Thanks for explaining!

Yeaaah look, I enjoy these tags, but can you chill out on the misery porn? It's getting old fast.
Not exactly sure why you felt compelled to leave a statement like this, but thanks for participating. I get that Confusion might not be your cup of tea, but I'm sure a lot of what you find compelling doesn't personally appeal to me. (Personally, I can't stand RPGM games, moving little 8-bit blobs around a screen, but to each their own...) If you took the time to read the spoiler notice on the OP, it states quite plainly that Confusion is a drama. The complete story was written years ago, during the pandemic--I'm not making it up as I go along just trying to appeal to guys who want fresh fapping material. It's a complete, sometimes sad story, but has a happy ending (I'm compiling the renders for the finale right now). Respectfully, if you don't like it, then I suggest you just don't play it. Problem solved.
