The game rewards being an asshole, and being nice makes you a loser. Classic alpha/beta debunked shit.

It's an incel's viewpoint of the world essentially. I have no idea how people love the writing so much. I don't think the dev has ever even held the hand of a woman much less slept with one.
Then again looking at the reviews people seem to love this a lot so I guess it has a niche to fill after all.

It's not bad, but despite the nigh perfect grammar, pacing, etc... The MC's behavior is just a little too much to stomach at times, so I can't in good faith recommend it beyond 'give it a try, I guess'.

Why do I dislike the MC's behavior? Because often times it actually feels like I'm inside the mind of an incel, or a schizo, or maybe the school shooter you never saw coming? The dude is incredibly ill and borderline crazy, and while a lot of this is supposed to be... uplifting? It just seems like it's sending the entirely wrong message, and I don't see where the big reversal on it all is going to come from.

    Some concrete examples:
    - First 10 minutes or so of reading was incredibly unpleasant. MC is a dude who's pretty much given up on life, and it's tough to read. Really reads like school shooter, about to kill himself, etc. vibes.

    - The dude talks to himself. A lot. Now, that isn't a problem -- we all do it -- but it's written like how a mad man would do it. Fun at times, but ultimately, I don't find it to be the likable kind of crazy, a.k.a eccentric.

    - There's one scene where the MC gets mad, drags a character around, and then goes on this angry, edgy, narcissitic rant about all the things he's going to do in retaliation for spoiler things. Why can't he be calm and normal? Why does he have to give school shooter vibes? I'm supposed to want to root for this guy, for christs sake.

    - Longass flashback where we find the reason for the MC's crippling depression is... melodramatic at best, childish at worst. Not to mention the flashback seemed to come from nowhere, with no real obvious foreshadowing I could see that that was the MC's problem all along. Whole sequence just kind of fell flat for me and painted the MC in a worse light. More foreshadowing? More reasons for me to emphasize with the MC? Idk, the sequence just didn't work for me and only made me hate the MC more.

    - Our MC starts making some progress with women, and as one of them's confessing to him, he quite literally goes crazy-eyed and starts arguing with himself internally on whether to use her for easy sex or not. Shit is batshit insane and not cool at all, but no one in the game seems to be saying it's so. Hate it.

    - He exhibits some behavior that is about the most quintessential incel shit for trying to get a girl to like them that I almost cried. I've had real-life friends that did the shit the MC's doing... at more than half his age. It's just, agh, can you make this guy come off as a bigger loser? If the ending somehow comes out as that entire sequence not being about the girl playing him, I might lose my faith in humanity. Holy shit.

-There are some scenes where the MC almost 'whines' a lot, and while the initial banter is great, I feel there are a few scenes where the banter ends up being dragged on for just a little too long. Once the jokes and arguments start getting repeated, that's when we're reaching the tedium of a real-life argument as well, and I just want to tune out and leave. The initial part is almost always good though, so it's more the extra stuff to soldify the MC's personality as insufferable that makes me annoyed.

    Anyways, TLDR?
Read my first paragraph. Just wish the MC were more sympathetic/likable/at least showing signs of becoming more likable instead of worse.

The writing is literally a korean/japanese soap opera/romance drama. And that is a good thing. The only difference is, so far theres no rival or antagonist for your love interest and you can choose your ending girls.

Currently too early to do a complete review but so far this is very promising.

Wow! What a fantastic game! I have had a blast playing it and cannot wait for future content. The tone is grave, even harsh, but the story is fantastic. So far, Alice may be the dream girl in the game, but to me Elsa is the real star. She has so much presence in the story and plays such an enigmatic and important role in the plot. She really feels like the main female character in the game.

I rarely become a patron of any developer, and when I do, it is always a one-time thing, as I sadly can't sustain many expenses over time. But this is one of those rare cases in which I am becoming a patron, even if it is for only a brief period of time, to say thanks and support the creator of this fantastic game.

    Keep up the good work!

    Dear viewers,
If you can live without massive sexual content and you like emotion-driven stories, then welcome to this game.
Some of the characters are very well-written (like Elsa).
Moral dilemmas are interesting and the corporate setting is funny.
The sofa-history scene is a masterpiece.

    The classic tale of love.

Boy meets Cece. Boys falls in love with Cece. Boy changes his life for Cece.

Had to do it. Let´s move on.

I´m sure there will be porn in this. Very sure. Positive. But right now? Zero. Nothing. Nada.

If you want porn avoid it! Play something else! Why would you play this if you wanna wank? There´s nothing here. Move away from the screen.

If you like an adult first person visual novel, play this one. It´s refreshing that the MC is different. He´s not an alfa, not a beta. A little cuco perhaps?

There is one, maybe two LIs, there´s another female main character, a friend? Your mind races a bit figuring her out and it´s great.

    I really like this one.

I feel like I'm not the target audience for this game. The main character is a pathetic beta, even when making "Alpha" choices, has only one love interest, and is generally unpleasant as a player avatar.

His main goal, to upend his life in the hopes of maybe sorta kinda getting with some girl he met once, is ridiculous and again, very very beta.

Finally, there are no animations and the sex scenes are boring.

I wish I had something more positive to say. I ended up skimming through 2/3rds of the game because I was bored to tears, and even fast forwarding it didn't get any better.

The game has been developed for over two years and there are only a handful of sex scenes, all with one girl is not all that attractive. There's also a decent amount of off-screen NTR as characters I would have rather made moves on run off with other men while the MC rages about how pathetic he is.
  9. 2.00 star(s)

    narcizze

Why do all games use the "alpha" route when so many writers clearly does not have a clue about beeing an alpha?
An alpha is a man caring when needs to be, protective always and someone confident enough that he does "NOT" need to be playing games to succeed in life. An alpha is one in 10000 guys not one in ten as everyone writing seems to think.

The "alpha" way against Lucy is not more than a would be sociopath in everyway possible, someone okay with using someone else feelings to get what the person wants with no regards for any consequences. (many more people in life that one likes to think.)

No alpha ever would be playing Elsa's game. Since there is no clear reason to do that more than getting the girl? The mental war inside the MC in the end of this rel was real good though. So many questions why the MC is letting Elsa treat him like she does and still he kept letting it happen. The only thing Elsa represent in this game is femdom. A girl/woman (though she looks like a 18y old) playing like a mantis with its prey. Being rude and condescending in the guise that you need to be able to handle that to get ahead, seriously? Call it what it is. (Even when she will be the one that makes the MC dreams happen it still will be femdom)

This game could be so good if the choices were more varied and the MC could actually handle the situations like an Alpha not a sociopath in the making.

But since there are no real choices 2/5

So far, Corporate Culture (0.4.5 version) is a very interesting game, but do know it is quite a slow burn. Story is well told and interesting with a MC that begins as a loser and slowly can progress in different ways as he faces the world around him, giving him a compelling arc and some interesting backstory and side characters. All while maintaining a good amount of believability in how the story is told and progresses, though some time choices are a little unclear in their consequences.

Renders are great quality, really high, but so far I haven't seen many animations. Sound does its job, but is still lacking a bit in that regard. And as far as I've played, haven't faced any bugs.

So, all in all, a very interesting game, let's see how it evolves.

WoW matches with my life....looking forward to it .....;). Everything is awesome in game. Story, renders. Although MC could have more physique( muscles that sort of things). I am not good at writing but I am doing this just to review you game and give it 5 stars. I like it how it has less sexual or suggestive themes, mostly focusing on story and building bonds with characters.

Very good. I am personally very tired of these VNs in which you and your daughters are a couple of days away from performing oral sex on each other, with your choices in dialogues not mattering because the cock-hungry girl that happens to be virgin and yet super attracted to you will no matter what initiate everything... This game is a polar opposite of that.

You are a normal guy, a bit on the loser side. You almost don't dare trying to flirt with girls, and consider your words carefully as to not scare them away... and yet when you take your courage to get out of your comfort zone, you end up humiliated. This is the normal tough life of a man, and yet not every men; but why is it yours? Can you do anything about it? What if you grind very hard at work for weeks? Then you'll get promotions, then you'll get success, then you'll get bitches!

Well, in a videogame that might work but in real life, it's neither a necessary nor a sufficient condition. That's where the game shines; it's not about taking one good decision that will unlock everything, it's about putting all of your efforts into bettering yourself, one improvement at a time, each of them making a very tiny difference in real life, but each of these differences comforting you in your choice to give up apathy.

One of those tiny differences is making a friend, a female friend. Quite gorgeous without overshadowing the main girl you are into, which is a good thing. She's her own character, and it's uncertain whether you'll end up being more than friends or not eventually. At least it feels like it's not going to be her initiating everything out of cock hungriness, and that if you want to get out of the friendzone, it is going to requires efforts from you. That's a very good thing for a game: good games have challenges, challenges with risks and stake; that's what you need to make sex rewarding.

However, the game is too short of content as of now (though I'd say the slow burn is there for understandable purposes). Also, if the renders are often very gorgeous and the girls attractive, you sometimes wonder how the characters would look like if they were "real humans instead of characters", and that doesn't happen in some other high production value VNs, which means there's room for improvement. I'm also of the opinion that a semi-sandbox would be ideal for this kind of game; it'd feel better to grind to the top yourself, to feel the efforts, and have it feel more rewarding when you make those progress (having to make money by working extra hours, buy costumes yourself, have free roams in which you can try your luck with random girls, or take time to read books, with the challenge to have to manage your efforts well otherwise you'll miss sex opportunities, etc.).

All in all... I am impatient to see the story evolve. I would really like the scenario to keep this "challenging" aspect to climbing the social ladder and seducing people around you. I want characters to remain realistic in their interaction. My final wish would be for the game to get a lot of non-lazy endings and epilogues that are not only determined by a final choice; several by characters if possible, some in which you are romantically into a girl (either your boss, your co-worker, your neighbor, random girls, or your main crush), some in which you have dominated them into submissive objects (in a way that still fits their personalities), some in which girls agree to have a three-way relationship, bad endings in which you end up a rich lonely asshole, or a crazy guy in a psychiatric hospital with a shattered ego, or a broke lonely guy... I think the game is promising enough to deserve being fleshed out to the max of its potential. The sky is the limit! :coffee:

    Review of version [v0.4]

Who could have thought that one of the most original and smartest VN that I have played in a long time is about an employee who wants to become something?
No paranormal plot twists or world secrets, and yet I can’t predict anything, the game is truly something of a breath of fresh air.

I wanna talk immediately about the two best qualities in this game, the writing and the directing.
This VN feels like a movie, I have never seen such clever use of the ambient and camera in such form of media.
Scenes are shot in such engaging ways, even if most of them are in first person, it still throws you in the situation with the character.
For example some scenes like the couch one, is astonishingly good.
It has an element of surrealism and minimalism that is a perfect vessel for storytelling.
Or the bar scene were no line of dialogue is used and yet I feel like I know everything that happened.
This is one of the elements that makes the game so unique and enjoyable.

The second best element is the writing, from monologues to dialogues, everything is written fluidly with a great english.
    Every line doesn’t feel unnecessary.
Dialogues are amazing, they are just not a way to progress the story, but they are written in such smooth and realistic matter, which it seems that you are witnessing a real conversation.
My favorite dialogues are the ones with Elsa and Edward or Tommy and Edward, especially Elsa the chemistry between the two is captivating and fast, just like a ping pong play.

Also the models are well made, humans have facial expressions and body language is really present.
The places and backgrounds are a part of the story not just a place where characters just interact.

For the characters they are all written exceptionally good, each one has its role.
The protagonist could be seen as whiny and a loser but that’s what he was at the beginning or what he thought he was, and turned himself into a leftover of person.
He has a great character development and his internal monologues aren’t overbearing like some others.
Then we have Elsa which is probably the best character in game, witty and sarcastic as a sharp blade, she has some of the best lines and still keeps an aura of mystery and normality.
It is really the deuteragonist of the narrative and without her, this tale would not work or be as great.

Sex scenes are few for now, so if you are here for the sex, wait the next updates.

The abrupt ending of this version boosted me with expectations, I am really looking forward on how all of this will continue, and this sets Corporate Culture as one of my most anticipated games here.
I recommend it all of it.

There are bad MCs, and there's MC in this game. He's on whole another level of pathetic.

And considering game is 75% his internal monologues, it's not much fun either.

Here should be a part where I say, "but the game is saved with H-content" and yes, girl models are nice and there's definitely a selection of them. Except there's no content for any of them except one. Everyone else is there to mostly tell MC what to do. That's actually good, he probably wouldn't be able to tie his shoelaces himself

    [Review is for v0.4]

Great story with believable characters. The game is great at making you feel what it wants you to feel -- aroused, happy, frustrated, sad, excited. I'm sure most of us can relate at least a little bit to the MC, which helps a lot with immersion.

This game isn't for those looking for a quick fap, but if you enjoy games with actual story, good writing, and the occasional h-scene then definitely give this a shot. The models and renders are also super well done, and there's even music/sound. Only downside is that the h-scenes aren't animated.

    - Story is interesting
    - music
    - Relationship dynamic between the characters are cool to see
    - Game has a immersive story going on with some deph.

    Cons -
    - lack of a gallery
    - no animations

A game with an excellent writing.
The story actually makes sense, and it's not just something thrown together. One of the few games where it's actually worth reading it.

The character models are also really nice, and I'm interested in finding out what happens next.

    Version Played: 0.4
    Time Played: 4 hours.

Like many of your days at actual work, this one is a slow burn.
While the story and setting are extremely engaging, there is a decided lack of sexual content (so much so that I missed every single sex scene with my choices save the flashback ones >_> ).
I really enjoyed a lot of the dialog: particularly the banter between Elsa and the MC is humorous and you feel like they are friends with a genuine rapport. There's also a big mystery around just who Elsa is that I liked and am intrigued by. The MC himself is relatable, or at least able to be empathized with in part. The only thing to really note on the writing front is that, for as good as it is, there's a vague sense that the writer(s) aren't native speakers, since every now and again, there will be a strange turn of phrase or something that just feels off.

    Positives
+ Beautiful girls (Alice is one of my fav DAZ3D models and the devs did a great job of making her a total "girl of your dreams" type.)
+ Intriguing story with good writing
    + Bush! (well, a bush)

    Negatives
    - Barely any sexual content. You need to be ok with playing to enjoy the story and characters without getting any payoff at this juncture.
    - End of content is extremely abrupt and jarring. (It really doesn't help that it ends with a "The End" screen instead of a "TBC" or something that lets the player know it's the end of current content update.)
    - The overall theme of self-improvement isn't really well-defined yet and I am very wary of where it could go.

Speaking specifically to that last point, it could be just because I used a mod in order to see the sex scenes that I missed, but I got the vague sense that the game has a "You have to be an 'Alpha 'to get ahead" undertone. (The choice labels in said mod were things like "Alpha" and "Loser" so that didn't help...) I find that worldview incredibly tiresome and unhealthy and found myself rolling my eyes when making the choices that were on that path just to open scenes. That said, I think it's very important to note that said mod gave those names and I don't know if they represent the creators' actual intent. Also, many choices, with the exception of bedding one character, currently have no resolution, so it could be that just one character responds to the "Alpha" treatment. In any event, it's way too early to pass judgment, but I am slightly wary and hoping that the game offers multiple outcomes for choices and that the different characters respond to different behaviors.

Note to Devs: Great game so far; I could really see it being one of my all time favs down the road. Please consider taking into account alternate ways for approaching the choices that still lead to positive character outcomes and interactions. That said, if my final paragraph is incorrect I apologize and will amend accordingly as more updates are released.
