Ren'Py - Corrupted Kingdoms [v0.21.3] [ArcGames]

I had to rewrite this review like five times before hitting send, because I was so mixed about my time with Corrupted Kingdoms. Though even in the state that it's in now, there's plenty to see and enjoy.

The story, characters and writing are serviceable. The gameplay is typical VN with very little in the way of actual mechanics to learn so it's easy to dive right in. But to me personally, the decision to use koikatsu is both a blessing and a curse - While it streamlines creating characters and H scenes, with as many characters and scenes that are in CK you can't help but feel like once you've seen the first few hours or so, you've really seen everything the game has to offer. So really your time with this game will depend on how invested you get with the story, and the girls.

But the fact that there are so many scenes to find combined with girls that will usually play in to a specific anime trope or kink you have *cough*Veronica*cough*, you're guaranteed to find something you like here. Especially if your kink is mind control, and you like the idea of basically running around the city with your pants around his ankles, ready to lay some fuckin' pipe with anything and everything by the end of act two.

I give Corrupted Kingdoms a strong recommendation, and look forward to seeing how act three plays out.

One of my absolute favorite games. It's one of the games that made me feel like I absolutely had to support the dev, so I do. I'm actually surprised I didn't leave a review here sooner. Been an on/off supporter for about 2 years now as finances allowed.

Outstanding storytelling, great use of KK artwork and an overall stellar knowledge of the Ren'py system and it's capabilities. The story actually invokes feelings of connection and empathy through it, and it does it pretty well, imo.

Most importantly, It doesn't feel like any other ren'py game because it *isn't* just another ren'py game.

Absolute recommend. 100%.

The writing itself is pretty okay...for an h-game. But that's only because the standard is so low. It's really cliche, and has this weird mixture of trying to be too serious for the quality of writing that it is, while also feeling phoned in. In the last year or so, It feels like it's being milked without any solid idea about where it's headed, like things are barely being made up as it goes along. Maybe this isn't the case, but that doesn't make it any better. It's sad, because some of the concepts and gameplay elements are/were great.

It's worth a download. It also used to be worth some actual support imo, hopefully that returns one day.

Corrupted Kingdoms is a very high quality Koikatsu sandbox game. Tons of content, plenty of locations, girls, etc. It's set in a modern, fantasy type setting., meaning you'll see humans alongside a pixie and a cat girl and fire girl and you get the picture. This and Heroes Harem Guild really stand on equal footing in terms of quality but with one very notable exception, CK's dev, ArcGames is one of, if not the most consistent devs on the entire site while HHG goes on frequent, year plus hiatuses. CK releases very frequent small updates, so you never have to wait long for new content. Highly recommend.

It was good in the beginning and the update were ok, but now, theses updates seem to be smaller and smaller the longer this thing is going on.
An exemple : v0.16.0 to v0.17.0 and about ten to twelves minutes of game play tops.

I'll see the next updates, lets say from here to june and if it didn't move much, i'll free a bit off space in the putter.

This is a generic "explore and fuck" title. Characters are walking anime tropes, the writing is cliche, and the renders while not bad aren't particularly noteworthy. On the plus side there's a lot of content (though not that much for a 3 year-old game), and does scratch a variety of kinks. That being said, while this game does not do anything special- it's still quite fappable.

I saw this game in the update feed a few times, but gave it a pass since Pixie is the cover and there's too much fairy/pixie stuff out there. What's gonna be different? Holy hell, was I wrong. Lost my whole weekend to this game. I consider the best games to be ones that I would play even if the H-scenes got cut, and this is one of those games. The sandbox is a little annoying, but it's used well and there's few time constants (No "wait will Saturday" and you just got the quest on a Sunday) Character's are great. Love the pregnancies, and I espeically love that your offspring get some time and attention in a way thats fun and not suffocating. The first chapter or two feel a little rough, bvery much showing the early dev days, but once the map opens up, it's smooth sailing IMHO. Excited to see what's next.

For ArcGames who has developed this game, I only hope to add small details, such as playing with children, humor, and features like school etc because that makes the game more lively, not just a harem.

And a little input from me about the H scane, you can accept my input such as adding outdoor sex, sex toys, and being able to add how much lust is in each heroine.

The game is great and well-written but in my opinion, as it is right now it suffers from a lack of focus. There are so many nice girls that don't get enough focus because there are just too many characters.

Already a favorite, excellent game

- Act 1 (beginning of game) is a bit boring, but you get into Act 2 fast enough

Gave up on this game a while ago. I don't believe the dev is interested in developing the plot anymore. It's become something else. It's been about 6 months since I last played, and scrolling through update summaries it looks like the main story has had 2 events added to it. So 5% story 95% fluff content.

Interesting story, but after a while I got bored, I feel like the plot is still lacking, but it was still interesting.

-Drawing/3D modeling: 4 (The design of the characters is fine, there are no exaggerated proportions and there is "variety" in body types, I see it well in this aspect.)

-Music/Background sound: 3.5 (It is almost the same for all scenarios, but it is not annoying, let's say neither good nor bad)

-Plot: 3.7 (The plot of the story, it seems to me that at first something good was seen, but I got bored with the progress of the story, I think it could have been better, but that's just my opinion)

-Map: 4 (Well designed, it indicates the places in a way that one can know where to go)

-Animation: 3.5 (like any animation done in Koi, they are fine, there is not much effort in this anyway)

- 18+ Scenes: 4.5 (if there is quantity in terms of scenes +18, during these there are dialogues that do not harm the moment so it is enjoyable in this aspect)

-Gameplay: 4 (It lets you do several things and actions per day, it doesn't limit you and that's fine)

-Interface: 5

This game bothers me because of the "grind" theme, I feel that it is very boring and sometimes I got lost in the story, I didn't know what to do. I think from my point of view that if it had been a VN it would have been better, in my case I would not recommend it, but that does not mean that it is not a bad game.

Solid story, surprising depth to characters. Cool game for the game itself with all the lewd content feeling like it just adds to the game. You can get surprisingly invested in the characters and actually want to know what happens to them

Amazing story, i love the way MCs powers were implemented.

If theres anything i dislike about this game then it would be the somewhat disappointing renders and the lack of a sort of evil path.

Theres dialogue options where you can choose really douchebag options, but as far as i've seen it doesnt effect the overall story

178 reviews of this game at this time, so not a lot more needs to be said. While any given element of this game is only so-so, there's just so much of it that the quantity adds a quality of its own. Dozens (hundreds?) of diverse characters, side-plots, quests, and sex scenes to encounter. It's also a very forgiving game - it's hard to screw up or permanently lock yourself out of any content, and if a segment doesn't interest you then it's very easy to speed through it (or ignore it entirely). I'd say it's way too wordy, but again you can skip 90% of the dialog and still know what's going on. Somehow, it's more than the sum of its parts, and it has a lot of parts.

Story (No spoilers)
Its an interesting game. The main story revolves around a guy coming back to town to investigate how his mother died and punish those responsible. It soon turns out that there are lot of things in this world that not a lot can see, there is magic and powers that we have, fey creatures, secret dangerous organizations powerful enemies and pretty girls. The story is nothing groundbraking but its interesting enough with mainly focues on girls and their backstories/quests with only moderately long main story that is ok till this point (0.14.5).

Graphics and H content
As for H content its plentiful and varied. There are dozens of girls main and side ones with a lot of nice animations for them. While they all share a kind of similar thirst for the MC (partially due to his powers) they are varied and interesting enough on their own. Graphics has a cartoony style and its good with girls looking really pretty.

Additional notes
This is the game with most frequest updates that I'm following, and while they are not big there is a steady stream of them. This is great as many devs prepare too large updates and then get stuck on them or drag the release for months. Definitely worth playing and looking forward to future updates. Seeing how things are going I have no fear that future content will have the same high quality as we've come to expect of this dev.

I would rate this as very good - 8/10 (where 1 - trash, 5 - average, 10 - masterpiece)

This one grew on me the more I played...
+ Good story line
+ It doesn't forget it's porn and we get plenty of scenes
+ The h scenes are enjoyable and often animations are included; though the rolling of the eyes and sticking out tongues is a bit of a trope
+ Nice diversity of "females" (some human some not so much)
+ I didn't feel like it was grindy. Yes, I have to return to a girl a few days later, but even leveling something like Charisma (reading books in the mornings at the bar) simply meant doing it and succeeding first time versus having to repeat 6-15 times (like some games) until I get enough 'experience' (or whatever) to finally gain a level
+ The girl cards with hints on what to do next is basically a walkthrough, which I highly appreciate.

Great game. I can't wait to see how the story and relationships develop.

*Fantasy setting for those that like it
*Really solid story and fairly diverse cast (if not slightly tropey) characters
*Great h scenes that are easily viewable via gallery.
*Dev is active and regularly outputs meaningful updates

Even in it's incomplete form, CK gives a master class in consistency, quality, diversity of content and overall just producing a very enjoyable product. I'm still shocked (SHOCKED) that the fucking succubus storyline was as good as it was, and how it managed to retain my attention. Great shit, my man!

A real gem of a game.
An actual interesting story that doesn't forget it's meant to be a porn game, add to that some high quality nsfw renders and a dev that cares and regularly updates the game (Unlike some other devs milking their patreon and giving nothing in return, y'all know who I mean). Great fucking job, Arc. I will definitely be looking forward to the future of the game!
