I never understood this mentality either. Especially when the results of said dev's hard work is nothing short of awesome. But as the saying goes, "Different strokes for different folks."

Can't say that I have though the devs that updated to Ren'Py 7.4.2 have been having troubles.
Are you using Windows 7, 10, or something else?
Did you check your Anti-Virus scanner to see if anything got put in the vault? Sometimes Ren'Py files get falsely flagged.
Check the game folder size to see if it's around 1.04 GB (1,120,166,609 bytes). If it's much smaller than that well something probably went wrong when you extracted it.

yes i run win 7 and the game folder is at 1.04 GB

Enter the bathroom on Tuesday Afternoons to see both of them bathing. You get to choose which one will "clean" you.

(Them anti-gravity boobs, though)
