Have to admit the info for the releases is a big let down for me, even as a not paying pirat here. The gallery edition has actually nothing to do anymore with a bonus gallery imo. That version has now, according the infos above, almost 1/3 more content as the standard one. Also have read on the "other site" that ALL good content for the orphanage girls is now cut out and exclusive in the "GE" game. Degrades the standard edition actually for me to a crippled version...

For this update alone, sure, but not the whole game.

Scene images for SE (in total) = 2,353
Bonus scene images for GE (in total) = 138

It's not as if I'm going to be adding orphanage girls every update, it's just now and again as a bonus.
And only the ones that appear too young for F95 are going to be GE exclusive, older girls will still be in SE.

Also {the game that must not be named} has 9 exclusive images per day/update in the gallery whereas I only have 3.
That game has 171 exclusive images not seen in the standard version.

I have 21 gallery images + 138 exclusive scene images, totaling 159 exclusive GE images.

Bonus GE scenes are my way of making up for the lack of Gallery images.

Hey RIC0H! Appreciate all the work and content! This might sound negative, but just giving some honest thoughts...

Personally, the delta between "free" and $20/update is just a bit too high for me. Other games not featured here release on itch usually starting at $20 or $10 and then decrease over time. I'm not down bad so I'll usually pick them up in the $5 or $1 range... unless I am down bad then I spring for the $10... but that is for games that aren't even on here period. Given that only ~1/10th of the "free" game will be missing, and honestly a lot of the content in the "free" version scratches the proverbial itch, well... it just isn't that great of a value proposition.

Obviously "wanting to support the artist" and all that jazz aside, just thinking about the value play, a non-decreasing $20 on itch for 1/10th of a game (although that split will probably increase, especially if its doesn't sell amirite? :p) isn't something I'm likely to engage with.

Again, really appreciate your work! Cheers!

I have to agree. $20 monthly plus $20 update gets expensive quick.

Well just think about those that are doing $40/m to me for the GE version.

Other games not featured here release on itch usually starting at $20 or $10 and then decrease over time.
That's what happens with the SE verson, the price decreases from $10>$5>$1>Free.

The GE verson is there for me to make money while the SE version is $1/Free

I suppose technically the price of the GE versoin does go down, from $40 to $20.

a non-decreasing $20 on itch for 1/10th of a game
I'm not too good at math, but isn't currently about 1/15th?
0.8 will make that go to about 1/20th

This statement alone isn't really helping your case, on the contrary, you shoot yourself into the foot. I won't post more here, I made my statement at the "other place" about this topic.

I mean I could just remove the SE version, that should make you happy :)

Hmm.. That would mean less work for me..

The only reason the SE version exists is for sites like this one, but if the people on this site do not want it, then okie dokie.

It would make my life a lot easier if I didn't have to worry about Rule7 and just added such content to the SE version, but that would mean that this site would never see an update ever again. (because I sure wouldn't be making a patch just to keep the people that moan happy)

What is it about porn game devs and having the thinnest skin biting every bit of bait they come across lol

RIC0H, I 100% respect your growth from modder, to game developer. But I myself share the sentiment of many around both this forum and "the other", which is that pay-walling paths is never a good idea, it almost always backfires on the dev as it disheartens those who were supporting at the $20 section in your case as they'll feel as they're now being given less bang for their buck for no real reason. Making them be a little less likely to continue their pledges. I personally would have subscribed to you at $20 a month for the paths that don't comply with rule 7 on here, but in my opinion $40 a month for that is just borderline daylight robbery. Especially since you've admitted yourself the GE only has 1/15th more stuff in it which will actually decrease to 1/20th in the update after the next update, I personally think a reasonable price for extra content would be $20 a month and $25 a month if you want to push it (if you don't want a patch at all). My honest final bit of advice would be based on how many other developers have gotten a bit greedy (not saying you have, but it is a slippery slope) and locked things behind paywalls, a lot of them have gone on to regret it due to losing a lot more than they gained by doing so, so what I would recommend is to make a patch or something that is hosted elsewhere like itch.io for like $5-$10 for just the rule 7 breaking stuff, with the gallery and any other extras locked behind the current paywall. I'm not saying make it completely free, I'm saying please at least make it more affordable because a lot of people (like myself) don't have $40 a month to spare (especially in the UK with our economy being in the bin and the cost of living crisis that has happened because of that).

Yea man, I totally get it. Again, this wasn't even a complaint or a negative really... I mean like you said, with the free content growing, it kinda de-centivizes purchasing the non-free portion more... that is a good "problem" for us F95 users.

Obviously, you can charge whatever you want for your content, and I'm sure there are devs that charge the same or more. I was just giving some honest feedback as a potential consumer. Perhaps setting the bar at $20 in perpetuity is a good idea for the development work that is essentially a sunk-cost at that point, as you said, people pay $40 to support you; but I would hazard a guess that $20 isn't exactly the sweet spot to maximize your profits if that is the goal. Of course you could have other reasons for the $20 asking price than profit maximization, again, just giving honest feedback, certainly not telling you what you should or shouldn't do. Honestly, I'd probably pay the $20 at the end once the game is finished, but there are certainly other games where I have eclipsed that already in the $1-$10 per update costs.

Just want to also specifically point out I'm only talking about itch, since Patreon is more about supporting an artist or creator and getting nice benefits as a side bonus. Itch is more about buying a product, and the value proposition of that for me, a potential customer, is all I was commenting on.

Thanks for your time. I wish you all the best! =)

I guess some of the content is behind paywalls, well I had fun with the first couple of releases. I liked the humor of the game. The thing is that most VN games don't get finished, I have supported a few over the years... and got burned. Oopsie Daisy was one of them... But anyway I will wait and see how this game goes, maybe I will buy a version in a year or two from now, but not $20 for a few more bits of the story. I would probably pay $5 per update. Most game updates just take 5-15 minutes to finish. Anyway sorry for ranting. I only wrote this because I do like the game.

Can't you just... vote with your wallet? Don't like what Ric0h is doing? Don't get his fucking game. Otherwise, support him and be done with it. Oh, the drama.

When an update leaks, I take 7 months to update it.
When an update doesn't leak, I take 1-2 month to update it.
:p

The question is, how long do you want to wait :p
I guess, it would be best then, if only the completed version in "number of updates to come" x 1.5 months will get leaked...;)

I could put the April scenes in the SE version for 0.8, but the downside of that is this thread would never be able to be updated again (so it'll remain at 0.7 for ever) due to Rule7.

And no, there will not be a patch, she's either in it or she's not.

There will not be unofficial patches, I tried that with other games and the staff said that was a no go.
