As someone who's very much learning to be a not-terrible manager on the fly and dealing with young technical staff who report to me (and I actively hate this job, which is why I'm looking to get out into a non-management technical role anywhere else) ... god I fucking hate the way everyone associated with the Fen-Den talk about their former colleagues. It's not even funny or cathartic, it's just plain nasty.

Pausing to stick one more knife into someone on your way to showing them the door doesn't make you a cool badass TRUTH TELLING artiste, it just tells me you love the moment where you have the most power to set the narrative and they have the least: which is naturally why you try and hurt them one last time.

Holy Hell.

Fen and Savins stable of writers are a bunch of catty bitches, and Savin is the cattiest bitch of them all. (tbf I thought that would be Tobs, but I guess that guy reserves his vitriol for the audience instead of his co-workers).

I still call their claim of William's writing "not passing standards" bullshit. Something happened behind the scenes that we will probably never know and can only speculate. They're already implementing half-assed content in both CoC2 and TiTS but suddenly when William does it they all of a sudden know what Quality Assurance means?

My honest guess is that it's because, 1:William's stuff was actually far too popular for their liking, especially since people kept mentioning it even in the discord and 2: It's also because William (sounds like he wasn't the only one who did so before leaving as well) actually retorted to their bs instead of just shutting up and taking it.

Also unsurprisingly Savin unlike his delusion, is not some golden goose for the writing, the actual good lore came from Fen and the good, interesting writing came from some of the other writers.

the whole einen situation was overall very odd to me. Why was she held up to such a standard when shit like Viviane as a companion got in the game. I'm really not sure why Viviane is even a companion and I'm not quite sure if she's got any major content in a while. Shit I had almost entirely forgot she was even a character until recently, she's not exactly very popular. That and Agnimitra, who has also sat as unfinished for years by this point.

Rubbish.
I am honestly not surprised one bit about those "revelations". The things anons over at /hgg were saying about Savin, half a decade ago, had been quite similar in their essence.
Savin was a venomous snake from the very beginning. He just couldn't so openly bare his fangs while Fen was in charge.

Agnimitra is easy to explain actually. As one of the writers came open about it recently - Agnimitra was a paid commission from some random nobody. And that random nobody never showed up again, so B just abandoned writing anything for Agnimitra.

Amazing how that structure always dooms a game into being full of half-baked dead end content. Creators don't care, they still get paid and clearly thats the most important thing here.

I mean they're comissioned writers and their job is to do write what they're comissioned. I wouldn't write someone's random OC for free for "game consistency" reasons that's Savin's job at the end of the day.

And that's why CoC2 and TiTS suck ass and will never get finished. :HideThePain:
Original CoC was a fluke born out of passion from many unpaid contributors.

Damn, what a ride. On a serious note, I do kind of hope that the subscription bleed means these projects will finally finish. Quicker they're done with this, the quicker people can figure out ways to make them better... and hopefully not make it easier for Fen and Co to just spawn a sequel off people's work again.

It really just showcase shit culture, to be honest. I can't speak from experience but the signs aren't particularly great. That's why having a proper lead would be good. Alas, they're stuck with that muppet.

Speaking as someone who just recruited Agni on their save, I have a suspicion this Quality Assurance bit's a bit all over the place. You'd think someone would at least put more stuff on her just due to being a damn companion. The Fucking Pink Monster of Airborne DST's behemothic content looks even bigger in comparison when Agni shows up.

Given I've been playing it, I now think Savin sometimes hits on a good nail. Unfortunately, most of those nails are spent on Cait and his track record isn't all that amazing with her either.

Truth be told, I feel there was a way to channel him into producing something actually good but you'd need a proper person to check him on his shit with the power to manage things. I genuinely think CoC2 could be salvaged but I doubt it would be with this crew. I'm even more certain it won't be salvaged with Savin playing manager as well.

Still, I'm surviving through this playthrough so far. Got Agni back, picked up Cait's bumbling dad, stumbled upon Quintillus for the eleventh time so far and have ignored it constantly, fixing the Wayfort now. Probably gonna go hit the Kitsune Tree to meet up with Hisui Senko Kohaku, even if it means going through the Tobs Zone. Hopefully it won't try to get Kiyoko off the orb as well.

Additionally...

Holy mother of ego's batman! Who knew Savin and crews confidence(and others) issues ran so deep?

Shit these clowns make tobs look like a saint lmao
If nothing else, he gets partial points for being up-front about being an ass. :KEK:
Who knew we'd live to see the day where TOBS is somehow more mentally composed than the rest of his compatriots(and that's saying something)
