Seriously, nonesuch was the only one speaking sense there. They hate Embry because her race was specifically created to facilitate her story. But like he said, how many super feminine futa races are there, or races who could turn into anything but they usually choose a hyper feminine appearance, or races with a male gender but when around pregnant females of their race they turn more feminine (kaithrit, makes me roll my fucking eyes). People put whatever they want into the game so they can create their porn or specific story.

Considering there are races/people in TiTs who are more susceptible to genetic modification, having someone who is less susceptible doesn't "throw away the lore of TiTs". And even within the universe where you can go down to the shop and change your body, several character's had backgrounds where they were too poor to get modded how they wanted to or they got the mods they wanted and the cost put them into extreme debt (Sera partly, Reaha). I honestly don't see how Embry's story is so against the narrative that people were so mad about it. It's especially stupid that Savin says he really hates her char but has never actually read it beyond I guess the basics of what he's heard.

I thought Embry's story was kind of interesting. In a world where most people can change their body on a dime and the only thing stopping them is the price or getting tainted (if they use those natural transformatives), Embry's story was unique. She wanted to change her body and it probably sucked seeing people able to do that easily. And in the end it still was a matter of price, the mods she needed were more expensive because they needed to be stronger to overcome her races natural resistance.

Idk, her story didn't bother me at all. But maybe that's because I'm not the target audience for the game. So the races that had built in lore reasons for being made up of only busty women or fem futas, seemed just as self-indulgent to me as Embry's race.

That would be the best scenario, identity issue.
'I dont know who I am supposed to be now, Im half man and a half woman...could you help me pls, miss/mister corrupted champion?' with a two choices give her pp or vv. And than, basing on how player treated her after that (suck/ride her tight pack of pulsing veins or fuck/lick her sloppy mound of venus) she would go like 'hmm, I having pp/vv feels better than having vv/pp...guess I go with pp/vv than'.
Problem solved, everybody happy, character arc are unique and completed. Even obligatory, for modern games, LGHDTV comment was pushed, an epic win.

-Ryn implied before that if she was given the choice, she would want to be born a woman. Oh?
-Ryn doesn't have an explicit repeatable talk scene about never wanting a vagina - no matter how much the writers want to justify her stance, she only brings it up in 2-ish scenes ? - both of which are one off scenes. Give her a repeatable scene then, so that it's not easy to miss, no?

-Dev criticism - seems like most of the devs just treat Ryn as though she's busty / enthiccened - due to the newer art only reflecting that side of Ryn, yet she actually starts pretty flat / thin. Guess that side of her character is also as forgotten about her as the submissive side.

Fantastic work appreciate this a lot I had a feeling Ryn didn't object to getting a vagina originally I wonder why they changed their mind on this.

I mean, especially in fantasy world where changing your genitals is just a short walk to your nearest alchemy shop (and you can sport a different set thrice a week) it kind of establishes that genitals don't in fact determine your gender. People who got their genitals swapped because of the demon interference don't immediately start thinking of themselves as being of the opposite gender, either.

As for Embry, you seem to misunderstand the source of dislike for her -- which is, that character had their entire species devised specifically so she could have a present-day transition story as her (only) character arc, in a world where said transition would normally be as simple as taking a short walk to your nearest sf alchemy store. It's not really anything like Ryn who simply wants to keep a dick despite some subset of players who'd prefer her not to and grow resentful an NPC wouldn't just bend to their wishes.

I worded that poorly what I meant to say is IRL a full sex change op is a life changing experience with no turning back its a huge deal and many are against going all the way due to the consequences and the possibility of not getting the full experience of being a woman. So what I meant is they use real life transsexuals as justification not to remove Ryn's dick which I think goes against what was already written for the character I fear their personal politics is crippling a game which has a world that doesn't need that justification. I am also pro keeping the dick as femboi trap too at the end of the day I see options as a good thing especially for a major character. However do agree that too many options leads to development hell seen it happen on a loads of games on here so you aren't entirely wrong but this game has tons of writers and tons of money which the games I speak of didn't have.

Couldn't it be argued that a majority of the Winter City storyline was written with the requirement of Etheryn having a dick? Wouldn't that be a lot worse than just having a throwaway race written solely for the purpose of a transition story?

Also, it's pretty silly to think people resent a fake character in a smut game, sure a lot of people here express their dislike for her, but to goes as far to say they resent her? Nah. If anything people hate Savin more for the lack of options, even if Ryn was super attached to her dick (which I didn't really see any evidence of in the time I played) why not have a corruption route where you can trick her into getting rid of it? Corruption is supposed to be a major theme in the game, and a major character like Etheryn should definitely see some effects from it if the player chooses so.

"don't fit the universe tho" just seems like not good enough of an excuse when the lore is just so malleable. These games, their lore is just not very good to begin with, they make shit up as they go, so that it fits whatever they're writing at that point.

I don't see how making an entire race for a character is so unacceptable when half the writers of CoC are doing weird shit to satisfy their own urges. Bubbles has his own apostle of a god who is a gigachad for no other reason than to stroke his own dick. I don't see Savin going apeshit on him for that.

Not even remotely surprising tbh. Guy has not had a single original or interesting idea since CoC1. Will take it with a grain of salt since those posts are pretty old, though. It's really funny to me that the devs act like they have any authority to give writing advice/critiques despite having a text game that has never once made me go "damn that was some good writing".

JimT could've made Embry a Terran with a genetic disease that makes her less susceptible to gene mods and require more specialized treatment just sayin'. Also she only requires 5000 credits in tips to change lmao, Paige's eye surgery is 500,000 credits. That's just for her eyes mind you.

Maybe I'm just still just miffed about her origin. Reminds me of those annoying mary sue-ish friend-of-the-author types that suddenly appear in fan fics.
