Yeah but here is the positive: He can write what he will but given how the game is structured, he always to acknowledge you win and I bet it drives him insane, the PC getting one over on his precious NPCs. They can get away, flee and scurry, be "winded and beat up but still standing" or whatever he tries to incorporate to salve his ass burns but at the end of the day, no matter what he writes, you still have to win.
His only escape from this simple fact of game structuring is in scenarios as you described, its social, non combat related stuff and honestly outside of the shit already griped about here a thousand times I don't think there is any new ground to tred. His nonsense view of family matters, some OP pysker harpy who can frag the PC's mind and you are forced to get over it, ultimately yeah that stuff exists but it doesn't change the fact you also get to kick the tar out of some of his NPCs and it probably rides his ass.
Ultimately his take on the Champ is bullshit, his NPCs are bullshit but it doesn't change the fact, he still has to write the Champ winning in a good deal of his nonsensical little stories.
