I'm genuinely kinda curious about the general opinion on CoC2 atm...

It's absolute shit.

I've written a rather long review presenting my points, so I don't feel like doing it again.

Anyway, tobs is a terrible writer, his OCs are stupid, boring and immersion breaking, his necessity to self insert proves that he is an amateur at best and the kitsune related content is the worst part of the game by far-- and also what destroyed it.

Yeah this seems to be it, like in TiTS I have an Amazonian naga plant/dryad zaika hybrid and there is a lot of reactivity to my choices, but CoC 2 feels "bare".

i have a hunch that the player character being weak, the lack of reactions to the player physical traits and the lack of agency in the story comes from "lazyness" and rather than acknowledging the players choice they instead invent excuses for why you cant do it

like, it starts from having a idea for a scene, and instead of adapting to the player's choice, they make the scene as generic and all encompassing as possible and then create explanations for those that dont fit
that is unless they forget something even exists or pretend it doesnt exist

that's how we end up with requiring requiring a virility booster after the wedding,
with every gust of wind being too strong to fly no matter the wings,
and (my personal favorite) being a bimbo not changing a single line of dialogue on the Kitsune Den so non-bimbos and bimbos might as well talk the exact same, excluding Tesuya and Takahiro as they were writen by different autors, but you would assume for someone that fucking loves writing walls of texts, TOBS wouldnt mind writing a little bit more? nope! seens he draws the line on requiring actual effort to make a alternate version of a scene based on a choice the player can make...

I think i may have figured out the puzzle for the graveyard. the clue lays in the text when you enter the graveyard, the position on the sun, stars and the moon. the moon i think is cresent the stars are glimmering but i didnt get a good look at the sun. thats what i remember.

Is it? Because if it is then holy shit they missed the mark. Before losing my saves I was trying to redeem the main "antagonist" so I ignored the whole selling my soul to the gods for power schtick, but if what you're saying is correct, then it's amazing because I skipped the whole Kitsune shit out of how boring and out of nowhere it is.

The Valkyrie stuff is alright.

It is certainly better implemented into the story than the Kitsune stuff, HOWEVER from a game's perspective (in a game that is all about the CUSTOMIZATION your character mind you) it has the glaring flaw of being gender-locked into only letting females transform (which is so fucking dumb, this game has fucking demons in it, WOULD IT KILL THEM TO HAVE USED ANGELS INSTEAD OF VALKYRIES?¡ LUMIA IS THE MOTHERFUCKING HOLY DIVINE LIGHT GODDESS FOR FUCK'S SAKE!)

I'll shit on Tobs' content any day of the week don't get me wrong but AT LEAST his God doesn't has bullshit gender norms involved in their Faustian Bargains.

Sort of comes with the territory when every emotional interaction, response, thought, feeling and etc falls into one of the God's domains, courage for example is a positive of Khorne, or for Slaanesh ambition, the desire to better yourself and improve.

Chaos represents a primordial truth of reality, it's Deities a mixture of nuance and intricate domains both good and bad but all distinctly have a place in every member of sapient life, conversely Mollach is basically just a waste of space.

I dislike most things about COC fandom, but the one thing that makes me follow it is its variety of content. Sometimes they make really good stuff. Looks like my patience have finally paid off: after 5 years, we got a sexable goblin-girl NPC! Goblins are cool! More goblins!!

I guess my sense of "Alright" is warped after the Kitsune bullshit.

The kitsune content and by extension the soul content tries to do something like Skyrim did with sub-factions. You want to align yourself with a faction then do a questline however the game misses the mark. When you do something like the Dark Brotherhood or the werewolf quests do them because you were organically introduced to them. You discovered them while exploring on your own. Now with Savin model the main quest takes you to the werewolves and makes you fight an incredibly powerful one so you feel compelled to join. Then when you join the questline never ends and the main questline is effectively derailed.

The side factions do not have to be in the questline as they are. The execution here is ham-fisted and as is obstructs the main story. Which is already out of focus enough due to the player character effectively being an escort for characters who do not share our character's goals. The only analogy here is a D&D campaign that has lost its focus. You have several player's who have their own questlines they've introduced while vaguely tying it to the original premise. You have been in campaign since the beginning and everyone is ignoring you or just nodding to you occasionally when you try to reassert your character's presence in the narrative.

If they want to fix this hot mess then they need to trim off characters, currently there's too many loose ends. Rework the existing areas to better the narrative. In a good game you generally name the impact of the area on the story even in sandboxes. I.E, in GTA V you can generally say what happened where. Such as in GTA V where the downtown is generally where the big bank heists occurred or the more rural areas where train heists occurred. Give the player character more interactions in events. As is the player picks a choice and the narrative runs off. If you want to do this Talltell's better experiences gives a roadmap for how to allow the player to still feel like their choices had an impact. In the case of this game the player needs more choices to break up those massive paragraphs and reassert their presence in story.

I'd like to say I want to hope that this could be fixed however with the personalities here. The odds are stacked in favor of stagnation.

Damn, sounds kinda riperino to hear the kitsune stuff has been such a waste considering it had a pretty dank start in my opinion when you just raised da family + peak fox wife. I only recall the kitsune faction being dunked by the demons or that wraith stuff in the plot into the side but they've effectively been shoehorned into the bulk of content atm then? oof (Been a while so memory aint clear.)
Only recall the random timeskip/aging of the family being kinda meh when I last play so that's a shame they've gone down this path then.
My favorite pieces of content from CoC2 was the naga twins story with the wraith flashbacks + the fox family arc so that's been a while storywise in current updates I'm guessing based on what every1s sayin

To put it simply, I (only) play as a female MC and she just a slut so any dick that she sees, she'll choke on it but what I wanted is more characters like Brint or any male that has time same content as Brint (that's probably the must gay thing I ever said here but whatever).

Do I hate the futas horsecock? no on the contrary, I like it, is more dick to my MC but I said it months ago that this game has a long list of characters that I really don't care, they are way to generic, their scene is mid as fuck (that's if they have one), their unique content is nonexistent, their content doens't go anywhere, most of the NPCs I just talk once and never again because they don't bring any new to the table. I remember that I was really excited about Khor'minos like "fucking finally there's no way that will be only generic futas everywhere right?" bro Khor right now is probably 90% futas like what the fuck, I was genuinely hoping for more characters like Brint for fuck sake.

I don't really care for the waifus in this game (mostly of them are probably futa anyway and also I play as female, I don't care for the lesbian content), all I care about is husband content like Brint or something like Kas/Garret type content or dom male content, oh yeah, and speaking of Kas, where the hell is there any new content related to her? GTA IV will probably be released and Kas still doesn't have new content that is worthy it (not that I check this thread/game that much anyway).

Anyway I'm probably not bringing nothing new to the conversation here, but that's how I feel about this game nowadays, so I'll just go play TiTS or LT because they have more freedom in content than whatever this game is now.
