I used the blackened herb or whatever it's called in Hawkethorne and it CORRUPTED MY SAVE, MY MAIN SAVE THAT HAD NO BACKUP AAAARGH
It granted you mercy and now can escape the endless cycle of waiting for updates then getting pissed off at said new update.
Also now you know to either backup or rotate your saves

One good to come out of CoC2 is that it helps you appreciate just how amazingly twisted the first game was.
True, can't argue with that. Amily's recollections of the past along with the very guarded nature of Tel'Adre does a really good job at underlining the threat of demonic corruption and just how screwed Mareth was by the time you get there. Their very goddess, Marae, of whom the realm is named after, is severely weakened and can even be corrupted by pollution should you choose to overload the valves in the power plant.

The twistedness is even seen in just how different the sex scenes and dialogue are between regular NPCs and corrupted/demonic NPCs. Regular NPCs solicit sex normally, either forcibly or asking for the MC's consent as well as speak in accordance to what their personalities are. Even horndogs like Urta. On the other hand, corrupted NPCs and demons almost always make it their sole purpose to dominate the MC utterly and seek to change the subjugated thoroughly, violating their very being.

Hell, the fact that the MC of the first game can even kill demons by the dozen is a testament to setting of Mareth: It's hostile, it's sexually, physically and mentally violent, and you will suffer trying. Sure, you can kill imps in CoC2 but it's treated more like a pest infestation more than anything, proving Belphegor007's point that demons are just evolutionarily less successful kitsunes.

I want to give this game the benefit of the doubt since it's both still in development and the setting is of a world that is just starting to be invaded by demons again after two centuries but I have yet to see anything that would keep this game on my computer.

Fuck, did you overwrite your whole playthrough save?!! Always save on a different slot each time fiddling around the backers build. Learned it the hard way.

Well, at least they're something right with corruption.
I think I want to take back any requests of corruption content now...

This is why I follow my favorite quote:
"Always make a backup of a backup of your backup."

Playing poorly optimised MTL'd RPGMaker games go a really long way towards drilling this practice into your brain.

true you'd also be in the habit to save often and to have at least several save files if you've played Fallout New Vegas, that game was such a buggy mess that I learned the hard way to save very often and always before fast traveling or moving through a loading screen door.

Okay, it turns out my save wasn't corrupted. The item broke my game, so I closed out but I accidentally opened a legacy version that I had floating around. Apparently, the other save that I had in the same location is way older than I thought it was. Sorry, my dumb ass wasn't paying attention.

Shhh, this info will be hidden.
No positivity must be said here as it will only feed their planet-sized ego and become even worse assholes.

I don't think convocation was a good piece of fantasy writing, the whole stuff with the gods is just kind of overdone and boring, and a random ass fucking phoenix wright legal battle in the middle of a porn game is a stupid idea (especially when tied to a giant exposition dump).

Kas has the only really interesting motivation/story in the game, as far as main plot stuff goes.
At least Phoenix Wright has some logic to it. You have to just look up the walkthrough with Convocation.

Unrelated but I find it hilarious that Garth only ever confronts you for knocking up his daughter once. Guess he must really like his 20 or so grandchildren I sired lmao.
Will never be as funny as Gwyr saying half of them are from Gwyn and half from Garret.
It's even harder to care about demons when the worst thing they've done is:
  • Give dicks to women without consent
  • Turn bees into bimbos
  • Rape the party upon losing...which isn't any different from losing to the other mobs
  • Turn the plants breed crazy
  • Topple a kingdom that was already going to be toppled anyway
I could go on but the point is it's really hard to care about the demonic invasion. The actual worst thing they've done could be seen in the centaur village, which I'd argue is a rare moment of corruption done right (probably). If the gods themselves don't care too much, why should you?

Besides, unlike in CoC where you are transported from another dimension into the already corrupted realm of Mareth, CoC 2 has you play as a native. This assumption is made because iirc Cait mentions that the horse-dicked futa portal made the MC extremely susceptible to TFs when consuming things that normally don't transform people. Yet, no one bats an eye as you transform into all sorts of different forms, change from male to female and vice-versa. No one's freaked out nor mentions anything about it.

The bridge suspending my disbelief is falling apart at this top-tier worldbuilding.
Well, in addition to what Belphegor007
said, they're clearly crazies who want to go too far with everything they're doing. Those are, however, reasons for wondering why it goes so far with killing them and the options to, including things like killing newborn imps and defending someone you just met from non-mortal danger with a deliberately lethal attack in a setting where characters get raped all the time. At least the first game's demons had war atrocities to their names. Wasn't killing anything but high to significant mid-ranking ones just additions in the modded versions, too?

Don't really know about them but some writer like Fleep does come around here looking for ideas and feedback on the writing. As for they bootlicker they do come by sometimes causing some purge for fun i guess. Mentioned this place in their forum too. Heck half of the peeps in this forum used to or still is a member in the fenforum so not surprised if it has been mentioned there and then lurking here a lot lol.
