In a better game, by better devs, with a real vision that wasn't just bullshit that they made up to cover for their inadiquecies...
A level cap is useful for a controlled experience, ask any tabletop DM, being able to control what level you're at for particular content sure makes their lives easier.
But in CoC2? Where every design ethos they've ascribed to has been broken at this point? Yeah it's about damn time they just made the easy difficult default and let us ignore combat. Or finally stop their double standard and let us kill/banish any random encounter we're sick of. They gave us a scolding for wanting to kill the annoying Kitsune bandits, but then they introduced a pair of unique demons you're allowed to snuff out without consequence. Consistency gods damn it!

No, she's the Kiyoko clone I mentioned. IE, a hypocritical bitch that serves as a bad ending for the character.
After the time jump, players (and I played through this material as it happened, I was a backer, I was on the forums, I got banned for constructive criticism of TITS) were incensed because they were enjoying playing parents to their cute daughter. What you get for your reward after real life months of investment was either Hime who suffers everything that is wrong with post freedom Kiyoko, or Inari who makes it clear she was damaged by your absence.
Is it any wonder people wish that she stayed five years old?

Oh, also, I tend to come across as very terse and unpleasant online. I wish to make clear, after years (older than this account) lurking, I enjoy your point of view and do not wish to hurt you. I'll lose interest and stop posting before long, but if in that time I overstep then please tell me.

coming back to this game after not looking at it for a while and this thread has been making me giggle. legit wondering WHY they don't cater more to ppl attracted to men tbh (and just actively removed one of the few companions who caters to that?). they'd probably make a shitton from gay furries alone. i get they said that nonsense abt nobody on the team likes dudes but goddamn hire someone then. or like. challenge yourself as a writer and learn to write abt smth that doesn't personally make you horny.

Its dehumanising at times cause he seems to think tragedy and harm like that are things you can use like a spice....Reminds me of abusive, manipulative ex's of mine tbh.

Edit: Sucks that charcters that had such potential are used that way. (I prefer Inari over Hime but both could be handled better. And with Rindo originally the plan for Kinu's sister, it just gets even more creepy.)

I enjoy playing in different points of view, but a female champ in CoC2 has very little content, and that's cock on vag, as vanilla as it gets. When it comes to writing porn, it's not hard to assume either persona, giver or taker if you will. It speaks to the nature of the CoC2 writers that they can't divorce themselves from one character's perspective and realize they're writing a vanilla straight scene, but with the Champ being the receiver instead of the giver for once.

This qoute pretty much sums up my feelings on this game at this point. The devs have created possibly one of the most profitable fan fictions ever. This game is not meant to fufill the players fantasies, it is all about fufilling the devs fantasies. It is most likely why they only get writers from their own community.

This is also why I don't really care what new content is coming out or leveling up in this game, because if the core reason for playing an RPG (the role playing aspect) is going to be broken in the new content as well i'm not gonna really enjoy the new stuff either. I'll just continue to be disappointed. You can't role play if the devs don't give you any meaningful interactions.

At this point I'm only playing because I'm a little ocd and want to see how this all ends. Probably in more disappointment. But oh well.

Also Rindo isn't Kiyoko's daughter at least according to the wiki (I know no one updates that thing, so could've changed in a new patch), but it is heavily implied that she's reltated to either Kiyoko or Kinu as a distant relative. Still gives strong Alabama vibes.

It's a fascinating look into how getting stuck in your own headspace really fucks with your writing. I don't think these guys have even considered the classic writing advice of "murder your darlings." Instead, they fuck their darlings and commission porn of their darlings. It's a perfect example of "you can write 1 million words and still not be a good writer."

I just want more story progression and more levels. The level cap is getting beyond annoying at this point.

I agree on multiple levels, supposedly the reasons for the delay of what, like years now for it is because of the rework they've finally got around to doing, and because 7s supposed to be a big power spike, but they could really have done with a placeholder level/stat increase. Having to set the difficulty to story and borderline erase the whole combat system to progress without your party being one shot feels awful, level 7 abilities already being obtainable but unusable feels worse. The story is kinda progressing, the paladin in khor minos *spoiler* is connected to or is kasyrra, and the ring quest that's currently in but wasnt really talked about is a decent story continuation and has a boss fight with a cult member *end spoiler*, but it definitely could be going better.

I'm assuming they'll add it in before the next leveled area (unless that's just too much work uwu) but I'd bet it's going to be a recurring theme, like keeping level 7 until the weakest enemies are 8+ etc. Not possible to get accurate records but I'd assume the genuinely artificial difficulty has probably just stopped quite a few people from continuing, from not wanting to change the difficulty or not wanting to deal with it. Id assume the combat system will have the same feeling til level 10 which would suck hard

Imo I think rindos original concept would have been better, with one of your children being burned in the attack on your home. I don't think it would have had any sexual content but it would have had a personal touch and potential for your character to help them heal mentally as their parent, more platonic emotional support version than the current rindo. It feels weird with the entire location burning and some of the little kids having to go feral to fight off the attackers that there were no consequences, it would have had more emotional impact if it would have ended with something like "many escaped with few wounds, but some have needed medical care, and one of our daughters was burned horribly; please speak with her".

Rindos not awful but her "I snorted the ashes off her neck it was pretty hot" scenes pale in comparison to having a situation where you could interact with one of your kids, it could also have helped kiyoko get more development, like if she was in the party maybe she helps her along with you. Maybe even introduce a new kitsune that loves her as she is and get wholesome sappy matchmaking stuff that gives a opportunity to be involved with making sure your daughters happy instead of having no role or input. Literally anything else other than kinu sue parts 3-6

Eh, even then. Such tight "control" by the dev can interfere with some fun experiences.
Overleveling the final boss is a classic trope and that in fact been the premise of many amazing pieces of hentai doujins.
Fuck "maintaining the experience". Grind like crazy and then crush the final boss in a single hit because she is a level 50 demon lord and you are a level 256 hero

I disagree that she has no daddy issues. Her scenes make it clear she has problems with authority (her "Yes I am getting married dad scene), her difficulty accepting help, contact, friendly gestures etc. You give her a gift and she is stand-offish about it and makes a point of saying "Fine, I'll only take it because it'll make you happy."
She's emotionally stunted after 11 years of being abused by Kiyoko. So she's better... but that's like calling a survivor of domestic violence better than a corpse.

But this is all getting away from the problem and the real villian, TOBS retroactively adding meaning to what is his fap-material for himself. All Kinu quest one and two are is his hate-boner for classic CoC. All his designs for post freedom Kinu are, by his own admission, based on his preferred Hentai that he is copying. Strip away these accusations from him that don't stand up to scrutiny and what are you left with for the entire Kitsune content?
A collection of Bubble NPC's, in a game that at the outset swore to not want any bubble content, who can't really be interacted with outside how best to fulfil the author's vision, and which the author commissioned private fap material for...

Thank you for this comment as much as I love the anons of this thread I disagree heavily with the opinion Inari is better. I would argue she is worse as she is a giant hypocrite for jumping into marriage just after getting out the orb. As dislikable as Hime Kinu is at least she is more consistent in her ideology and beliefs as bad as they are. Otherwise agree with everything you said.

Regarding a certain author and their hate boner for CoC never forget these lines taken from the wiki.

'Raphael is heavily based on the character of the same name and similar aesthetics from the original Corruption of Champions game, albeit much darker and heavily villainized; TheObserver felt many of the things he did in that questline were quite creepy and ominous and played up those aspects of him.'

People be talking about Hime and Inari Kinu and the intricacies of their content while I'm just surprised there are even two of them. The only special event I ever had with her in the realm was that quest when she asks for a quarterstaff or some shit. Guess TOBS wanted me to spend more than 2 months of in-game time with her but that's not really feasible unless you purposefully put off getting them out of the orb. Not sure why I get the "bad-end" Kinu just because he can't pace his content out well. Sorry for not wanting to repeat doing the same shit I did in the orb 50 times already TOBS!

Honestly even if the Kitsunes weren't pieces of trash, I would still hate them. They all act so needlessly polite all the time except for Kohaku, it's really fucking grating. Why does my "wife" feel the need to be so formal around me all the time? TOBS knows Japanese people don't act like that, right? It just makes them all feel fake and sterile as fuck.

I don't want to hear: "Good evening my husbando, tonight we shall dine on only the finest delicacies from my culture and then we shall bed each other until I am swelling with your offspring." I'd much rather hear: "Hey honey, I'm making ya dinner and then we're gonna fuck all night until you breed me!" It's part of the reason why Brienne is just so much better than Kiyoko.
