I'm pretty much on board with this. Harpies are pretty low tier as far as monster girls go. The only Harpy Girl I can think of that is kinda cute was the one from that anime funimation canceled that was all about fucking monster girls. But even she is a "I'd only fuck her if there was no else to fuck."
I agree that their are varying depictions of Harpies that can be kinda cute, and if where going with original version of any monster girls there all hideous. But Harpies in my opinion never really seem all that great. At best there passable at worst there hideous.

I find it hard to make a list because any category can be good or bad, depending on how it’s handled. E.g. I generally don’t like bunny girls, but I’ve seen several interpretations or characters which I have liked, so how much weight should either have? Also, in many depictions, there is hardly any difference between e.g. cat-, dog-, wolf-, fox-girls etc.; they all end up as “human girl but has animal ears and tail” with slightly different temperaments at best. However, if I had to go for a top five (in no particular order), it might look something like this:
- Plant girl (alraune etc.—the Monster Girl Encyclopedia’s “Liliraune” is hot AF)
- Animal-ears-and-tail–girl (as long as they have pointy ears, e.g. cat-girl, wolf-girl, fox-girl etc.—but not round-eared ones like bear-girls or mouse-girls etc.)
- Insect girl (has to be done well, because they also have the potential to be really hideous—I like moth girls a lot)
- demons (succubi etc.)
- angels (and other winged creatures like bat-girls—harpies are somewhat close to this, which is why I like them probably)
I don’t dislike lamias; they’re just not my favourite.
I’m generally not a fan of bunny girls or girls with centaur-like body plans (centaurs, driders, etc.)—again, specifics can supersede the general: I like Eubicha, for instance.
