Sub Arona technically isn't a thot. While I did mention the cumtrails, every time (or at the very least, thrice) it gets brought to the staff it's acknowledged as a mistake, and then nothing happens. It's like how it took nearly a year for high confidence low libido Etheryn to stop crawling onto Hashat's cock.

soulbind

Souldbind is such a half-assed idea. I usually don't like being this obtuse. But, it's mindboggling that they threw that into the game.

You get

• a few paragraphs of changes
• a few pages to cover the TF
• Some sex scenes (for the kitsune)
• Some middling powers

And your drawbacks are

• Your ability to TF is substantially restricted
• Your gender can be restricted (if Valkyrie)
• Inevitably locked out of the Kas romance in whatever "act" that Savin alluded to is.
• Virtually disconnected from corruption as a concept

So you get a marginal boost to power and negligible dialogue changes and lose out on potentially substantial amounts of stuff.

And it'd be one thing if it was constantly reaffirmed or even updated and kept current as the game progresses.
Kitsune's soulbind quite literally has never been revisited. The only thing even remotely approach reflection is Valkyrie and that's still not equivalent in losing an entire route.

It never could be.
It's just a bad deal.

In Advanced Guardian Heroes if you died you could make a deal with the devil to trade your soul for 10 minutes of invulnerability. This is a worse deal than that.

Maybe if there was an alternative romance path there.
As it is right now? Terrible.

The kitsune soulbind affects lots of dialogue with the kitsune (obviously) and some of the vulpine fellows on the mountains, I think it's pretty cool that it actually has some impact. Headpats and mofu tail scenes probably give me some bias here as well as me actually liking a lot of the kitsune content in general. I thought it was cool.

Maybe I just have trash taste though lol. ¯\(°_o)/¯ It would be better if you could become Kero's champion without a kitsune tf, but I think the soulbind concept isn't an inherently bad idea.

When I say a few paragraphs worth of changes, I'm tallying a whole lot of them. Together.

This is what we're working with here more often than not.

Of the many sentences in something like Kiyoko's wedding. Only 12 are changed and the vast majority are things such as

• "You haven't proposed to the High Lady Ōtomo yet, have you?"
  • "You haven't proposed to the High Lady Ōtomo yet, have you, your Eminence?"

You get the idea. Sometimes you get a sentence. Rarely a few. Usually it's a single word swap. When you knock up Miko/Mai that scene plays nearly word for word the exact same. I've always thought that was overly lazy. The major point being "there's absolutely no way these marginal changes are ever going to amount to losing an entire romantic route with one of the characters that overwhelmingly has some of the most content in the game"

As a concept? Not bad.

But, hmm...
I don't even know how much I should compare to other games. There's multiple text games that do make big sweeping reactive changes. But, two of them are being written for free. Is it even fair to compare this to that?

As someone who looked through all the instances where dialogue is changed when the PC's race is kitsune through notepad, you're right in that the scenes themselves don't change much the majority of the time, which I should have been more clear about. But I don't think I'm being hyperbolic when I say a lot of dialogue is changed.


Plenty of it is a sentence/word or two in each instance, but it's a lot. Just type that under Frostwood or the Kitsune Den (The Frostwood has FAR less instances) and you'll see how often it comes up.

When you responded to my post, which contained the statement "a few paragraphs". I thought that was what you were calling to question instead of the sheer quantity of adjustments, small or otherwise.

Under that basis, I'm most certainly wrong.
But actually, under several others ones I'm also still wrong to the point that several parts of my entire original statement gets redacted; "negligible dialogue changes"

Because I had a big think, and even if the most that was changed was the calls to the title, of which don't get me wrong a substantial amount is only that, there's still enough to reaffirm your choice. This was the place where my critique had been coming from for that particular grievance.
