the update will be out in a "few days" according to the Developer on Steam.

People get a little annoyed when this exact topic finished being discussed three posts before yours. Just take a few breaths and take a look to see if your question was already asked/answered, that is all. We are all really excited for the upcoming release, you are not alone .

That is an update talking about the PROGRESS of 0.8, which is still not out, it doesnt mean that it was released. You could literally see that if you clicked on that "update" on steam.
Many people here uploaded Steam version games and noone of them did not require a launcher to start the game.
