Just played this for the first time and ~4500 posts tells me I'm not the first person to really enjoy it.
It was in my to-play folder for a while but I dug it up on recommendation and am really digging the story and the girls. There are lots of harem games out there, but man can this dev render a pretty girl. Ironically, I think one of the reasons I back-burnered it for so long was that the art stlye of the LIs - in the previews on the site I first saw it on - did not appeal to me. Must've been some terrible previews, or maybe it's just a look that grows on you the more you see it? Cause man-oh-man did these girls grow on me.
Having no prior experience with this game, are the updates usually regular, or are they unpredicatble with some longer intervals mixed in?
And has there been any indication from the dev regarding future plans & how much more story they plan on telling before completing the game?

The dev is solid. So are the updates. Check out the Changelog in the OP. The dates and the volumes are there. I mean you don't even have to use the search.
And the answer is 3-3.5 months per update.

I think its a mix of both. The preview renders are from the earlier sections, and the renders definitely improve throughout the game. And I think due to the cosy "feeling" of this game you really start to get into it and the renders really enhance that feeling, which you cant really get just from previews.in the previews on the site I first saw it on - did not appeal to me. Mild spoilers I think I cant remember where exactly, but Cosy said that there are going to be a few time skips in the story. I am pretty sure he said it will go till some point after the MC and akatsuki graduate from culinary school, although I might be wrong about that

Cosy has already said he wants to redo the renders for the first 12 days or so to bring them up to the level of what he's making now. Hopefully that means we get better preview images too.
He's indicated that the next update will be a bit slower than that because he took a break over Christmas, the next update is going to be big, and he's spent a bit of time bug fixing.The dev is solid. On the plus side, he's in the process of leaving his day job and going full time on game dev, so that should improve the pace for updates going forward.

could be anything:changing lighting,posses or expressions.
adding a few more to clarify things or removing glitched things like arms/legs inside their own body's or other objects(arms glitching into boobs is a common thing)
