There are a few scenarios once you get to the "protest" part of the Quickie Burger storyline. Once that part is over, it's just the same random events as normal, but with more money.

Not sure how much it will help, but here are a couple of suggestions. Under Character Stats (Character button in the left window) you will see sliders for Plumpness, Muscle, Physicality, and Athleticism. You want to increase all those. Increasing your physical skill will help increase the last 3, but reduce your plumpness. Increase Plumpness by eating more, even if your food stat isn't low.

Another thing you can do, but would require a restart. On the second page, there are 3 boxes, click the World Generation Options box, scroll down until you see a box with the text Traditional sports team genders. Click on the box to remove the check mark. There is some blue text "What is this?" that explains it.

One question, does anyone know which variables dictates the glasses on NPC? I have one NPC that I want to made him non-glassy, but I couldn't remove his glasses in the customize menu, and I couldn't find the line that says so in the save files too.

Looks like the "Proven" event requires you to have passed a bunch of checks in practices: a tackle, quicksteps, a field goal, a strategy session, and a sprint.
Additionally, you need to have fucked the qb (or have the qb be incompatible with you or have "Bad Situations" content forbidden) or have attended 21 practices, which does take a while.

You can leave the swimming team, wait 2 weeks and join the cheerleaders..
If you're close to summer break otherwise you can just wait for the new year..

I got the impression that you piss off your teammates if you quit during the year, so I only changed at the end of the year. In general I would recommend taking the cheerleader route first
