DoL certainly has more content, but unfortunately, I don't particularly like the content too much. Not that it's bad at all, I think DoL is objectively a fantastic game, but it's very focused on dom/sub and non-con, as well as just pretty dark stuff in general, like the very fucked up general situation in the orphanage. Which I'm just not that into. CoT is so much better for me personally, because I can play a character that has just a fun time in college, and also a ton of cool, consensual sex.

DoL is a super impressive game, the writing is good, but I prefer my porn games to have a lighter tone. And the achievement system with the points you get that you can exchange for perks etc. is really cool. CoT inclinations are not half as good.

But all the better writing and cool gameplay systems and overall more content doesn't help when it's just not for me. CoT just gives me exactly what I want, which makes it the better game for me.
Yeah. I also don't like most of the animal/beast stuff. Absolutely no interest in turning into a cow.

After 2 to 3 in-game months, the main problem I have with the game is how many of the "storylines" are hidden behind the game's shitty RNG, with also a terrible grind, and when you accomplish something in the game you have this bitter feeling of "that's it?".
Another example are the two lastest main updates (River Rat job and Frat Houses): they are good at the start, with a nice amount of sexual content, but after a while it gets repetitive or not enough content to keep me going.
Same for me - once I get to Harvest Eve my character has settled into whatever role I picked (though is normally a exhibitionist slut) with no money worries, don't think I have ever got a year into the game as there just isn't the depth to explore.

I understand the game will get more content but a lot of the problems of this games I believe is that they go for width instead of depth. Having options is the main thing of a sandbox but if those options are too simple then the player will get bored quick.

I really wish the Dev the best cause they have something good here.

im sorry but dol has so much content. im now downloading this game here to see if it got more content but dol and especially dol+ is still unbeaten in content and customization so far. tho, i hope this game gets to the same point because here we have more visuals to look at.
I really like DoL... the game is *really* more "fleshed out" than CoT. My only issue with DoL+, is the "chibi" look, or the ultra femboy/sissy look of the males.. I sincerely wish there were mods to make the males more masculine. There are only two that I'm aware of Goose and Kitmint.

If anyone knows of another, I'd be very appreciative... :D

Storylines aren't hidden behind RNG.
Like they are, but the sticking point is mostly a massive fucking gameday requirement. Later roommate content is locked to day 90+ lol
Seriously? Ugh, no wonder I never saw it.

Honestly, the big problem with the game is that there is a ton of content but most of it is surface deep at best. I get the design reasons why; you want to make sure that systems are in place before you start building on them and adding too much depth, that way when there's issues in the overlap you can fix them all at once, but still, it kinda sucks to play through.

For example, once you start dating the DnD player, the story ends and it's like every other relationship, with the same shallow gameplay.

I get why the developer has only focused on building out the one semester so far, and the reasoning makes sense, but it really does need to be faster than a major addition every three months or so.

I think most players who play DoL prefer playing as a female character rather than male, so the mods are more skewed towards feminine looks. The devs are also more interested in adding more story content than polishing existed sprites. So yeah... I wanted DoL to have another story setting where you are the bully instead of the victim, but that seems to be very far away even if the devs would make it happen.

Seriously?
Ayep. "EventRMPMastBecomeAware", the event where you can catch your roommate masturbating and which unlocks the event of telling their partner they masturbated, is from day 90. Relmain, the event following up from telling them the partner about the masturbation where you can go to the toilets and do the blowjob sequence copypasted to/from the arcade, happens at earliest seven days after that (and only can happen on certain days).

Half of the roommate partner dares before are also locked to day 45, for comparison.

The ultimatum in the classroom harasser questline happens no earlier than day 60. The followup event is day 80+.

You'd have to add up the minimum time between promotions for the River Rat job, but I think I unlocked most of it's lategame content around the same time.

I understand why people are saying this, but I don't think the content of CoT is particularly broad, either. There are a number of basic systems (that really are in need of deepening), and a few events and quests that I think are also fairly limited. This may just be because it's still early in development and there is more background work being done on systems that are important for extensions but not immediately visible to the player. At least, I'm optimistic that is the case, as I think it also needs a lot more stuff to be added for the world to feel lived-in (and livable-in).

I think the poster is right though. There are several shallow systems or paths that could be fleshed out. Jobs for example. Burger and Cantina jobs lack any meaningful content, Bar stops after becoming a Toplessbar. Sports are quite shallow too. While Cheerleading and Football are OK-ish, swimming and especially E-Sports lack any meaningful content. Game bets could become bigger.

Instead we get a new Cardgame that is unnecessarily complex imo.

The thing with the bar is that you can take it in the other direction, supposedly, and even that has nothing there. The game has a fair number of systems in place, but you can't really do anything with any of them.

There's a weather system in place, but it doesn't really do anything. You've got all these clothes, but no reason to use anything but a couple of outfits. And on and on and on. Like, punish us for wearing the same clothes for a week straight or something. Make weather have an actual effect on gameplay.

The issue is likely one of scope. There's way too much to add in terms of basics and no real storyline or win condition so there's no real end goal for development. As a result it's stalled out at the first semester while system after system gets added and the game spins it's wheels.

I've been wearing same set of clothes for almost a year without washing them and nobody seems to care, at least not yet. I believe future updates having PC "punished" for wearing the same smelly clothes such as your classmate sitting next to you will comment about your smelly clothes despite already maxed the hygiene meter.

Does anyone know the prerequisites for the event where you get stuck in the dryer? I triggered it once and I want to do it again but no matter how many times I refresh it, it won't pop back up again. So I'm wondering if I need to do something more specific than just washing my clothes or if it's time gated.

For me, its random. Try re-rolling the event until it happens.
