Basically, yes, female PCs get slightly more content, especially if they are cis, bisexual and submissive. They also get some events like wardrobe malfunctions and such.

There's also a fairly detailed clothing system where 80% of the clothing is traditionally female. So if you are playing a trad alpha male you don't really get to engage with it. Holding out hope for to either be able to gift NPCs a wider varity of clothing or set custom outfits though.

In my opinion the game treats straight male player characters like second class citizens. This goes down to even the basic ways the game functions. One example is physical appearances. Playing as a straight male one of the primary concerns is probably going to be what female characters you interact with look like. Of course in a text based game there are no pictures so it comes down to descriptions, but the way the game works the only character that you always have a description of on screen is the one you are playing as. Your character could be in a room full of big titty girls in their underwear, but the only way to even notice it requires opening a sub-menu to list every character in the room and then checking each one to read her individual description.

It's also quite clear to me that most events are written with a female pov in mind. One of the most obvious examples is the "roommate's partner" storyline. In this quest chain you meet your roommate's girlfriend who physically dominates you and dares you to do things like streak across campus. Is this sexy? Does it even make sense when you are playing as a gigachad football player? Clearly the developer wrote a story about a girl meeting her roommate's boyfriend and then enabled flipped genders without bothering to rewrite anything.

Another example is the River Rat content. By proceeding through the quest chain you can turn the local bar into a topless bar. Unfortunately for straight males who are the main customer base for that kind of establishment, only npcs actually get to enjoy the topless waitresses. As the player character you can work as a topless bartender and get groped by female patrons, but there are zero scenes where a male player can interact with topless female npcs. In fact because of the previously mentioned issue, you won't even notice that they are topless unless you go out of your way to check.

These are just two examples, but the game is full of this kind of false equity. It's disappointing because it wouldn't take too much effort to mirror events so that not only gender is flipped, but also the player<>npc role, but it's clearly not a priority concern for the developer.

I suggest some ideas to make straight male playthrough somewhat more enjoyable than current state. The developer can start at quad parties where the male PC can 'cop a feel' some topless female NPCs and also encourage some of them especially to female friends to get topless. In River Rat male PC can ask some services from waitresses just like how male patrons did to female PC if she works as a waitress there.

In roommate's partner story, I think developer can write the roommate's girlfriend into a materialistic and manipulative person who forced you to buy expensive stuffs for her in order to keep her mouth shut. At least it is more realistic than forcing you to streak around campus as a man.

You are already gender bias with the suggestions...
Why only straight male PC? Can a female PC, a gay PC or non binary PC do these?
Why not ask to allow PC of any gender to grope NPC of any genders and to get them topless?
Why not suggest to allow PC of any gender to get service from the waitress or even the waiter?
As a waiter/waitresses, why wait for a customer to ask for service when you can make the suggestion yourself... but then, this is a bar, not a brothel...
As for the roommate storyline, i rather get a chance to turn the table with a tricky/exciting event and turn their GF/BF/Partner into my sub!
The issue isnt about gender, it is about taking "more" control instead of waiting for the NPC to make the first move and the PC responding to them.
Though there is one event that bugged me... you can only ogle at female NPC and asks them to flash... you cannot ask that of male NPC lol!
The petition update is a nice move adding some PC initiatives into the game.
Take the card game for example: It would be more satisfying, if a story event is added to make the PC discover this game and introduced it to the campus students and the townie. PC can then challenge any NPC for a card game but NPC with some inclinations can decline the lewd stuff.

It looks like you need to activate the Media Production Lab in the Emerson Building (The Classroom Harasser). You need to be submissive to them and have filmed a porn with them. Then edit and submit it to the Amateur Porn Town website. Sometime after that you get an email (on your phone) asking if you want to do it professionally. Go back to the Harasser and discuss it, if you choose to do it, the meeting is on Ginseng Street.

Kept seeing camera person, '$proporn', and '$proporn.harasser' all near each other as well as 'harasser' being asked what they thought about it and took a guess. The above still appears mostly true, but that's just one method to unlock the storyline.

From my own test at the River Rat I can:
Drink + flirt and get sex from a random professor not from my class with just Friendship 8 and lust 3 - this varies with professors of different personalities, but i didnt get phone numbers from them after sex.
Maybe you can only get the numbers of your own teachers?

So I've been playing around some more, and it seems like there's some sort of...maybe hidden characteristic, and beyond just sexual orientation? Some faculty you just flirt at The River Rat and go, and some seem to just never go for it no matter how much you flirt with them.

Does it have anything to do with the professor types listed in the class stats?

I very much agree with the observation that 80% of the clothing is intended for female characters, but I have this "problem" in basically every similar game that has more than a few outfits. There are just so many more female outfits, period. And even "worse", many traditionally male clothes are now unisex, like jeans for example. And I'll be honest, I'm not really seeing a lot of male clothing that's missing from CoT. This is just an accurate reflection of human fashion.

Tall and strong guys can still be submissive! It's more rare than tall and strong guys being dominant, but it's hardly unheard of.

I agree that more players who play straight males would mesh better with a roommate's partner who doesn't want to dominate them. The suggestion of getting somebody who manipulates you into spending a lot of money on them sounds quite good. There should be a trigger or choice in character generation for people to choose which roommate partner version they get.

But don't take away the dominant girlfriend for people who want to play subby straight guys, these people exist and deserve content just like anybody else.

I think I understand. But you're projecting. If a guy is playing a girl he might only be interested in what his girl PC looks like. But if a girl plays a girl, do you really think she's just thinking about her character, and not fantasizing about the guys fucking her character?

Not being able to see what others are wearing without going into sub-menus isn't ideal, but it's difficult to conceive of a way to solve this problem. Even adopting a DoL-like system wouldn't help, since it only shows the PC as well.

I'm not sure either, honestly. I was just throwing the idea out there in the hopes you or somebody else knew anything about the game's code.

I recall there was an allowfree variable, and if you can do console stuff, you can set it to true for a given person, and it unlocks much of what was locked. One could probably search the html file for allowfree to see the various places it's used.

About the professors, i did some experiments:
For your professors, there are 2 types:
1 - Aggressive type - after class offer to help"
At lust>35 or 36 - you can get compliance 1 event when offer to help - they reach for top and caress your chest
At lust>45+ they asks you to tidy the place naked when you offer to help
At lust >65 when you offer to help, they will tell you to bend over for sex.
You can ask for phone number after sex to ask for dates after that.

2 - type 2 is the less agressive type:
At lust>41+, you can get an exhibit 1 event to remove your clothing to seduce them and they will touch, but that it until lust>80
At lust 81+ you can offer them sex
You can ask for phone number after sex to ask for dates after that.

As for professors not from your class, i didnt experiment much and isnt sure either and only tried to seduce some when i found them at River rat out of curiosity. Whether they accept sex or not might depend on their inclinations and traits?

Clothing wise... i didnt notice them much when i first play as a male PC, but is disappointed when the description of the NPC and what they are wearing can only be found in the submenu when i learned their names.
But this is a text game without image, so i guess it can create a clutter if the descriptions remains.
I did get a mod that display NPC stats including what they current wearing (or naked) to appear just below my PC's stats when I talk to that NPC, you can find that mod in the COT mod discord.

During sex i usually strip my PC and NPC immediately and didnt care about what they wear at all...

After tried to test play PC of other gender, for example a female or a custom gender, i learned abour cleavage and other clothing descriptions i never realised existed. This make me more aware when choosing clothes for my male PC afterward...
All clothing are unisex in this game, I have let my male PC tried mini skirts... and my female PC (with a dick) wear a boxer...

As for dominant and submissive straight male wise, the game doesn't look at how strong and muscular your PC is during sex.
Physical skill and strength will help, but the game is really looking for traits and inclinations.
You can unlock dominant and dominant vibes when your assertive/domimant skills reached lv4 and lv6.
With this 2 traits you can overcome, resist domination act on you and even force the other dominant NPC to submit... strong physical trait should help.
This is for sex combat only, and will not stop wolf whistles when you walk around the campus no matter how macho looking you are...
