they and the lead VA didn't want it in the first place, but felt it "had to be there" because "that's how these games are." Then they removed it.
Huh, that's really interesting! What a weird misconception for them to have had.

I mean, A, that is obviously not 'how these games are'.

But also, B, if all NSFW games were somehow 'like that' as a general rule... if they didn't like that, just be the one to break the mould? Make the game you want rather than conforming.

I'm glad they've made the game they want now (or at least part of it), just a shame they ever felt like they had to do anything other than what they wanted to.

The dev removed non-consent stuff because they and the lead VA didn't want it in the first place, but felt it "had to be there" because "that's how these games are." Then they removed it. And it's not glitching through enemies by playing with yourself and initiating the ero animations: It's the primary way to recharge health.
I think they might be referring to certain enemies, like the soldier shield lady or the crystal dragons, being designed as sort of "walls" that need to be dealt with in some way to get past, but are usually pretty easy to just kinda fuck them and scoot by. But like, yeah, that's my favourite way of "dealing" with them, so...

And if you play on "Hard", you won't recharge health for fucking them.
Additionally I think Anon said, he planned different endings related to how much you fucked.

I was completely sure this game was already released for some reason, probably because its in development for 10 years. I guess we are having another something something fragments situation here.

Regrettably, yes, this was a god send when I was nine years younger, and now nearly decade later, it still remains incomplete. I admit I lack knowledge about game development or the involved, but I believe that unless it is an exceptionally large project with online multiplayer and server requirements, ten years for a single game seems excessive.

For a team of one to three people who dont have a ton of experience, ten years is a long but not that long. The dev has struggled with some shit so that adds time as well.

Think this dev is caught in a pretty common trap: Start making a game without much experience, get pretty far/finish the game building skills while you do so, then want to redo the whole game to get the quality up to your new skill level, rinse and repeat. Its an endless loop if you dont catch yourself.

You can go on his patreon and see how many months in a row he's taken peoples money just to make polls for alt colors of boots, jackets, underwear, eye color, hair color, etc. He's a scammer milking his patreon now. He's making over $5k/mo and doesn't even have to show results to get it. You don't need to come up with excuses for him, he has 829 people fooled already.

I used to support this dev back when he first created his Patreon. The game seemed way more promising back then since it was frequently being updated. That being said, I still periodically check on the game and end up refreshing my disappointment with the current state of things.

Around the time of the creator's big move across the country, he claims to have started having a bunch of health issues (both physical and mental), which were the biggest reasons for the setbacks involving his work on the game. As someone who struggles with mental health issues, I can understand that if it all was true (not saying that it's not, it'd be real scummy if it wasn't) since health issues can cause all sorts of roadblocks, but what makes it so bad is the fact that I can't remember the Patreon billing being stopped for any period longer than a month - if at all - during this project's lifecycle. I know for a fact that I don't get paid when I take time off from work for mental health days, so why is this guy still being paid for giving people the same product, but in different colors?

On the one hand, I'm glad this game wasn't abandoned. On the other, I'm sad to see it fall into development hell. I don't think Anon meant for it to, but they faced genuine issue and fell into the pit like many others. I wish it got closure even if it was extremely rushed. A simple fade to black saying "Alicia would continue her quest to save humanity but her fate is yet unwritten." Roll credits. Let it have the "Completed" tag.

Stop this gem from corrupting into the next Future Fragments or Pure Onyx.

Don't think I made any excuses for the dev lol, not even suggesting anyone should support on Patreon. Maybe he's making up the mental health issues just to keep the subscriptions rolling but this exact arc of game development is extremely common.
