Can anyone let me know how much the size of the 2nd challenge the paladin goal is? I know I am missing atleast one cutscene, the one where parley is unlocked because the first goal is 10 and it immediately jumps to the 1M goal after that. I usually get like 120k goal progress in the first fight so was curious. Is it 100k?

Probably not? I hit her for 68.9k and don't get the parley invitation scene

-Bugfix: It's no longer possible to bypass the Ruler achievement goal limitations by gaining large amounts of goal progress at once.
I don't think this is fully fixed?

The Ruler feat in College Town also bugged once I completed it 10 times. Ruler goal 11 was not locked
While redoing the loop, I got to Metropolis 2 days earlier, and got Balanced almost 10(?) days earlier. Also I bugged out Ruler again. I completed Ruler 7, skipped 8 somehow, and got access to an unlocked Ruler 9 in College Town.

I went over to Metropolis to test the Ruler action over there, completed 9, and got a locked 10, so Metropolis' side seems to work fine. But the requirement says it needs "1-1" so...

I've attached my day 70 save, so you can test it yourself

I decided to check out investigating the occupiers action (just stats, bit disappointed) and the Day 150 cutscene contradicts itself

Also I checked out the Lancia reversed goal scene again, just in case there was anything different. At the very end, it says we're alone in this city again. But I have Paladin with me??? Should probably add a variant to account for Paladin's presence

Ok CSdev this is probably a selfish and very lazy suggestion but thoughts about making an auto option that extends to the loop end scene and the post loop selection screen that immediately begins a new loop without making any changes in the upgrades? Basically automating the grind entirely xD
Right now it's only the bit of remembering to click through the loop end stuff every 15-ish mins that's the stopgap in the grind being truly efficient :ROFLMAO:

The patreon mentions the new attribute of Hacking. I assume that also involves a new character? Is that what we're getting for the next update?

I'm at loop 1,951. Sometimes my game freezes mid loop while autoing. It's happened twice now, both in the middle of a scene. It doesn't seem to be a particular scene that causes it? Once at the Hashimoto diet unlock scene, once while meeting Lancia

Edit: Happened a third time at Lancia meeting. Exact same spot too, right after she runs over the drug dealer 1765781704288.png

I'm at 3k+ loop and have run into it too. Idk what causes it but I have noticed that if I avoid minimizing the game then it doesn't happen. (Just not minimizing. Having other apps over the screen except for the game itself is fine.)

After the update, my abduction counter is partially covered by the location box

I saw the new scene for unlocking classy diet. It's nice, but the notification now says I've unlocked the premium diet. I still got access to the classy diet though, think it's just a typo

Uhh, traveling by jet bugged out again. My 4th time using it

Yeah travel in general seems bugged. I didn't even use the jet but normal flight seems to bug things out too. Hopefully the problem will be figured out.

I can’t believe Heilig doesn’t approve of Ostentatious Clothes. Do they not see how many diamonds get crushed to sprinkle diamond dust all over this outfit? I spend 70 thousand a day just to reapply the coating of diamond dust! Heilig seriously prefers some basic clothes another person picked out for us-

…does Heilig want to cuck Tanaka?

I’m joking by the way. She probably just has bad taste in clothes due to being stuck in her lab all day. Her fashion sense consists of clean lab coats, lab coats with folded sleeves, and lab coats stained by chemicals, probably
Heilig is definitely the type to not even think about what people are wearing unless it stands out for some reason (for example, due to the person wearing them looking really really, good). Maybe I should have the ostentatious clothes work too, though. They even have the same Stamina-cost-increasing effect.
Will that be the loop that earns the most mol or the most mol "efficiently?"
This is only a comment for day 150+ loops where sanity only functions as padding and at high enough day counts it becomes a less "efficient" run.

I was about to comment if dev would allow ostentatious clothes to proc the scene lol
By the time the option is implemented, we'll either be at Release 3 or very close to it, which means that excess Sanity causing your loops to run way too long will no longer be an issue. There are a few powerful Sanity-consuming actions which will be available at that point.
Hopefully we get options for both most MOL and most MOL in shortest time. Cause sometimes I'm busy with something and can't check on it anytime soon, other times I can check in on it now and then, usually right when the loop finishes so I can start it up again
Does max / best MOL actually do anything within the regular scope of the game? Sure, for the post-game grind, its really nice, but for the beginning of the game things change so much between upgrades that I don't know if it helps at all to try saving those.

I think you get more value, without much more hassle, if you could just save and load setups. This helps people who want to rerun the game, and endgamers can manage their own setups as well. I honestly am avoiding doing any upgrades or changes in the post game grind because it takes far more time to adjust anything then to keep running what I already have.
I agree that the ideal would be to offer more player customization of the auto feature. I'm hopeful that I'll be able to figure out a good way to implement it before too long.
Wish there were some upgrade in the future that'd make the requirements of activating some stances like <100 stamina for vulnerable and <20 hp for self-destructive more flexible, like needing <21 hp with 1 level and so on. This would definitely help with decreasing the need to micro-manage after getting an upgrade every time and things like that.
I originally planned on something like this, but the problem was that it was so incredibly weak outside of the single use case of "make your Auto setup more robust." I think it'll be less of an issue going forward because of some planned abilities that will make the player less reliant on early game Vulnerable/Self-Destructive etc.
I think it'd be very helpful to have a more explicit notification (even if it's immersion breaking) when you unlock the Looply auto option, to explain to the player that you can now Auto through an entire loop making it identical as the previous run, to get upgrade points.
The game should be giving you a green button "new thing to check out" notification which points you to the Looply option after you get the Savior achievement for the first time.
I tested out getting MYP real early (before kidnapping) and wow, it's making a difference. There's a bunch of days where I have larceny kit + generous equipped to deal with Hashimoto's goal that leads to tower. Swapped out some actions, got MYP, then got charisma 1 so the buff actually applied

2.0 > 2.1 modifier. Which kinda sounds worthless, but it gave me just enough of a buff that I barely managed a vitality lvl up, which gave more stamina from resting and let me do 2 extra stamina worth of tower, which led to 6 lvls in academics instead of the usual 5. Then the day before the kidnapping, I spend all actions on focus and got a bunch more, which increased my kidnapping goal progress (with larceny kit + generous) from 8.1k to over 11k

Unfortunately I have to use eye catching attire and DuMunt Mansion actions to lower my stamina enough that I can't complete the goal, because I do need her kidnapped to meet Lancia. I'm just waiting for that future update with an alternative way to meet Lancia

Also for some reason Heilig's relation bar is visible even though I haven't unlocked her or met Jackal yet
View attachment 5456508
The character/attribute bar visibilities currently always work in pairs, so as soon as you see one, you can also see the other.
Up to you, really. It's good, also gets better the higher your charisma lvl and your relation lvls. Since it buffs both the relation's stat buff and goal progress buff

The worthiness calculation goes something like

How early are you in the loop? (how much time you have left to grind stats, and how many goals left that might be impacted by this)
How many days will it take to complete? (if it takes something like 10 days, you're probably better off spending that time on the academics charisma feedback loop instead)
How much MOL upgrades did you do for Focus (Yumeno Game Dev action), Academics, Charisma, and the action result is increased by hp cost upgrade (for causing trouble in Metropolis, cause you can scale it up to give 100 times more finance xp than any of DuMont's stuff)

You also don't have to do all of MYP at once. Look at your focus lvl, then do MYP 1, or MYP 1 and 2, do a bit of academics + charisma grinding, a day or two of focus grinding, then MYP 3, etc. That's what I used to do before I realized farming Ruler feat was better for MOL

I spent 1.472 million MOL on the upgrades

Also I finally finished the loop where I got MYP 1 before the kidnapping. Went from 1.9k MOL to 2k MOL per loop. Here's the save file if you want to take a look at the path

The Ruler feat in College Town also bugged once I completed it 10 times. Ruler goal 11 was not locked

Also got 7k progress from failing to prevent the kidnapping, then completed both hire Jackal and complete the investigation goals in one action. It did not show the cutscene for the investigation finishing, only the hiring scene. It's kinda funny to think I walked in, paid Jackal to investigate for me, but then dumped all the kidnapper's belongings on the table and went, "Sooo... I got his ID, driver's license, everything here. Now please search them up. I dunno how to use a computer."

I have found another bug. This one also related to pausing auto with mouse click. Though instead of messing up the list of actions for each day, it seemed to remove the completion of an action. I got some new text in DuMont's scene about how I didn't walk Tanaka home, which... I did??? Or at least auto-me should've done it, I checked the planner and yup, walked her home the previous day

Seems like ? is an invalid character for save file name, or there's a max character length limit. Tried to save a file as "d2 generous early?" and it didn't save

Also, I broke the game. Well, this save file. I got finance 1 to use generous start of day 4, then at day 6 game froze at the end of a cutscene. Rebooting it doesn't work, game takes up a lot of processing power launching then just closes itself. Restarting the computer doesn't fix it. Removing this save file does fix it

Edit: tried going down that path again with the new save and it broke again

Also what's the difference between the default action choice setting and the default routine choice setting?
I don't think this is fully fixed?

Thanks for the bug reports. I think that a lot of this is due to the game's auto setting causing the game to continue even before the game is done writing the daily save file. When the save file gets large enough, it might be trying to advance the game before it's ready, depending on how fast the player's computer is. There are probably some programming tricks I could use to make it handle the save operation more "safely," but a simpler immediate solution is just to bring the save file size down to a more reasonable level, which is planned for the coming month. The planned solution will be backwards-compatible, so your existing lategame saves will continue to work fine (they'll just get a lot smaller).

Thanks as well for the continuity error reports as well. This is something I put a lot of effort into, but there are many chances for something to slip through.

Maybe as a lategame unlockable feature.

Anyway, Release 2f has gone public, so here's the release text! Note that the hall of fame feature in R2f is very slow (taking up to 10 minutes to produce the instructions.txt output depending on your computer's speed, and causing the game to freeze until it's done). This is something I'm also working on fixing now.

The bulk of the work this month ended up going into Release 3 content which isn't yet accessible to the player. In my own playtesting, I've confirmed that the Hacking attribute is functional, and the 3rd and 4th cities have most of their actions filled out. But, again, the goals required to reach this part of the game are disabled in the R2f because the associated content hasn't been written yet. This is work that will pay off once it's time to start the final push toward Release 3.

There's still some new content that can be enjoyed immediately, though! Tanaka's placeholder scenes in The Metropolis have now been properly completed. There are now proper scenes for completing your "mission" at the rave club, as well as for completing the "Establish authority" goal which previously just gave you access to Syndicate soldiers without any explanation. Furthermore, some existing scenes have also gotten new variants to reflect the fact that you might have Syndicate soldiers loyal to you as well.

In The College Town, the country club is also having its placeholder scenes filled in. There's now a proper scene for unlocking the "Fancy restaurant" diet, and there's also an entirely new gameplay reward when being hired for the Metropolis job. In addition to unlocking the Metropolis job actions themselves, the player also gains access to a private jet for making quicker trips between The College Town and The Metropolis. It's pricey, but the ability to cut a day from your travel time is extremely powerful.

Finally, this release also includes the first Release 2 high score submission! As a result, I've also included my own high score, which was beaten by almost two full loops. I'll definitely be trying to make a high score run that's more challenging to beat for Release 3. But in the meantime, players can now examine these two runs to see what strategies are possible and decide whether they want to try to make a run that's even faster.

My goal for the next release is to completely finish the "Reach The Metropolis via the country club" content. This will involve filling in the remaining placeholder scenes at the country club as well as adding a couple of entirely new goals for a new gameplay bonus associated with the Metropolis job and for meeting Lancia without needing to go through Tanaka's Syndicate storyline. The coming release will also include the new romance scene for the winner of the current poll, so make sure to vote on that if you have a strong preference there!

I have finished a loop. The new scenes are very nice. We might have to do a side quest to become a therapist for Tanaka

Jet is useful but... inconsistent. Thanks to jet I've increased my 100 day loop MOL gain by 104 (2,132 > 2,236). Thanks to Ruler(?) bugging out I immediately lose 98 MOL if even a single day is auto-ed. So yay for +6 MOL gain! I've attached the save
