Jesus Harold Christ, they're being really protective of a game's special content despite having no idea if it's even gonna be successful or not.
Yeah, It is to a ridiculous degree and when looking to the new version on patreon that flaw I mentioned awhile back is still there but it is more annoying then the last time has become more obvious.

My word of advice do not touch this game if you care about your information.

Another thing too, does it not feel a LITTLE hypocritical to be this fanatical about protecting their game from cheaters when none of the assets or models in it were made by them? Everything in this game was made by other artists lol.
oh grabbing the models and assets are the easiest thing to do, it is the ip logging and data scraping you should be concerned about because even as a person not trying to cheat you are forced to partake in it and you have to deal with this plus the back door is still there which I would call funny because I forced some random person to run a process that makes them download the bible entirely in Japanese but in reality it isn't funny. Look I needed to test if they can force processes and that can make someone download a file that could be hypothetically anything the bible in Japanese was just funny and don't worry I compensated them with an activation code for McAfee and explanation in a notepad file.

They can see your current processes, passwords, emails, on surface level if you go slightly deeper you can interact with files and processes through methods that I am not going to say because I am going to say this again I do not trust anyone here with the method and I do not really care who you are because this big security vulnerability for all the users who has it on their computer or for the "Lucky" people who get code injected in program meta data such as chrome.

Not sure what you can see on your end in relation to the code but do you reckon that the IP logger and data scraper were put there intentionally for more nefarious purposes or do you reckon this is a amateur coder doing to their best to protect 'their work' (Please ignore the assets that aren't theirs, lol) and inadvertently created a method that would allow for backdoors?

Also, to mirror what Johnny said, it is really odd how protective of the game they are when the majority of assets are not theirs. I guess that Pateron grift must be all they got for income.

Also also, how do they intend to get this on Steam? Ignoring for the moment that some models aren't theirs, aren't some of those characters from other copyrighted IPs? Did they get permission to make a commercial product with those other guys stuff?

Well honestly the code compared to everything else looks and feels out sourced like they hired someone to do it and the ip logger does seem to be there on purpose if not then main this thing is the tf2 coconut because the game wont function without it.

Also do you think there is any reason to have a data scraper and ip logger on a program like this would have any good intentions because you can get literally anyones ip who have booted the game from how they have things set up.

they wouldn't even if we ignored all of that because steam doesn't allow games to have malicious code even if in "good faith" so having an ip logger and a data scraper would get it instantly rejected

Question. if I haven't touched/played the game since, let's say around 0.6 (which is i think when they first added the logger), should I still consider myself at high risk or not? I no longer have the files for the game installed by the way, it's all been cleaned out except for like the save/player file data. (Mainly worried about the Backdoor stuff)

Has anyone confronted the dev or at least commented on their Itch Io to warn others of the malicious code? I am interested in seeing what their reaction is to this stuff (and how fast you would get banned for saying it). Especially to see if they try to hand wave or justify it as it is seeming more and more like the game is more a vehicle for more illegal stuff on the dev's end.

How does one get the jello skins unlocked? also has anyone got 0.8 cracked?
Well, I'm not a cracker at all. But after half an hour of fiddling, I managed to bypass Patreon check.

I'll upload it later after I test it myself.

I myself launch games from f95zone only in the sandbox (sandboxie for example), without access to the Internet, which I advise others to do.

You should read about and how to use it. It allows you to restrict access to the file system, the Internet, and much more for isolated (sandboxed) applications. At the same time, it has almost zero overhead. Plus, all saves, configurations, and other game files are in the sandbox folder, and not scattered throughout the system. For those who prefer risk over safety, there is a thread where you can see the latest infected games.

For Linux there are Firejail and Bubblejail (Bubblewrap), but they are much less user-friendly.

How do you install and use it? Because i'll be honest, i understand nothing that is in the files

Dude, at this rate I'm definitely going to get a warning for off-topic. Download Sandboxie-Plus-x64 ("Plus" has a more modern/feature-rich UI, "x64" means intel/amd 64-bit processor (x86_64). The program is quite simple, you can figure it out just by experimenting, looking into various settings and context menus. But if you need some tutorials, , or any other from Google results. Once you get the hang of it, you can read about the program's additional features, for example, . Personally, I just google the question that interests me when I want to do something, and I'm too lazy to dig through the "documentation" (for example: "sandboxie how to make sandboxed app shortcut"). Google will find you a lot more information than I can tell you from memory. And unlike me, it will answer you right away, not the next day.
