That's strange. Currently, the game is being sold for money on Steam, and it has paid Patreon subscribers. For them, the developer releasing the game here for free would be a slap in the face. Why would the developer publish it for free on some random forum unless they added some not good stuff to the code? -_-
I don't know why, but I find most paid Steam adult NSFW games here for free. This is, I think the most popular NSFW game forum besides ***********. While I don't care to check the developer's honesty they could have added not good stuff like a backdoor, so I can't answer your question as to why they would do what they do
Why, when I post this, it shows stars?
Actually, it's quite a funny situation. Paid build for free directly from the developer is suspicious, but pirated cracked copies from unknown users are OK. Maybe Micinka should post it somewhere else, so we can steal it.
Maybe we're thinking too negatively? The dev just wants to make a nice gesture, gain trust and prove that the malware stories are just fiction? Maybe the controversy has gone beyond F95 and negatively affect him, who knows.
After all, the fact that Micinka decided to be active here and financially supported F95 suggests that he's trying to improve dev and game image.
On the other hand, it's true that this is a dangerous move, patrons and Steam buyers won't like it...
