Ah I see, thanks! That wasn't clear at all while playing, I did see the action in battle, but it has no useful description.

After getting the Demon Flower suit, if I rest for the night with it equipped, I can't unequip the suit anymore.
Does anyone know if it's by design or is this bugged?
I can only remove it if I do so before sleeping every night.

Yeah, as MirVoc said, you have to wait until you are able to use the skill "pick" to pick up the fruit (after several in-game days). Then you can unequip the plant. You can try to breastfeed the plant to accelerate the process, I think, though I don't think it was working for me (the english translation being so bad, it's hard to know)

Holy hell this game is terrible!! Even after taking the specified steps I was still unable to unequip the armor. I had to teleport to the succubus and give her all of my SP before I could change my outfit. I appreciate the help.
