I’m a fan (and old supporter) of the game, but part of the reason we’ve reached this point is how many of you will actively defend subpar communication and unfulfilled promises. It’s honestly delusional and prevents actual improvement.

If you really don’t want the project to lose supporters/die, we need to face reality - this is not the first, second, third time he has made delays or promised things he could not fulfill. It’s not just about the update, but that he has a track record of promising some date or time and then disappearing past it. It doesn’t matter whether or not the update eventually came out - he did not keep his word. How are so many people afraid of admitting this?

If you say that an update or post will come in a given time frame, you should update your supporters by the proposed deadline. It doesn’t matter whether “it’s just a couple days, it’s just a week, it’s just 2 weeks late” - you give a date, you follow through or give everyone a notice at the very least. Let’s be real, regardless of how long any delay takes, whether or not you have a job, it does not take hours, days, or weeks to send a post saying “hey, sorry it won’t be coming as promised today due to [whatever reason]. I’ll give another update post by [ date].” There are many developers that need breaks or have delays, and honestly the vast majority of supporters are understanding when you put out the bare minimum of respect by communicating.

Now’s obviously not the best time to add more stress to the situation, but keeping PFFG more professional and accountable only attracts more patrons in the long run, which leads to more incentives and resources to continue. Poor communication paired with routine delays lead to an eventual decline in trust - the only thing that sustains this payment model. Blowing off real concerns only kills the future of the game and actual monetary support. Stop blaming supporters for leaving; blame yourselves for continuously defending behavior that causes supporters to leave.

I do agree that the lack of communication has gotten worse recently, at the start it was much more clear and structured and I'd advise people to objectively critizise this behaviour. It has to be said that losing someone in the team that lead the entire project might have lead to the rest of the team being a bit all over the place, but that is no excuse to not give a short update post. I won't hold anyone accountable for pausing their pledge as I have done the same, once the update comes my trust will have been rebuild and I continue supporting simple as that. I don't think that hurts the dev anyway.

Ain't nobody here actively defending the dev's terrible and almost criminal behavior of not hoping everyday on patreon asking how we've been and catching up with us here in f95zone; in fact, as far as I've seen on this thread, people are planning on cancelling their subscription over this, which would be a bit premature to me, considering how almost every major h-game dev is far worse in terms of communication, which is understandable for many real-life reasons.
Of course the dev knows having better communication and better management of the team would be better in the long-run, but he has a real job and a life outside all of this. Thinking this is his priority at any point in time is just not realistic, in other words, it's delusional.

I mean we know the reasons for his delay, he was being consistent before the editor left so its obvious this will hinder him, Maybe he doesnt know how to match the editors skills which requires time, lets just hope he delivers but the dev needs time thats for sure. Worst case scenario he abandons the game. In the end of the day its up to you if you wanna keep supporting him or if you want to cancel your subscription, no need to start a riot over here on the forum...

If he somehow updates the game tommorow, yall will start praising him and asking for a hero....

man it isn't that hard for the dev to take 5 minutes out of their day and post here to tell everyone its further delayed instead of leaving everyone in the dark
Bro the dev might be exhausted as well, dont judge too easly. Bros working a real life job as well and considering his editor leaving he has even more workload to do for this game + his full time job unless if he has another person helping out.

edit: I recommend a new game which is somewhat similiar to this : VN - Ren'Py - Falling Undercover: Nox Syndicate [v0.02.0] [Azienda] | F95zone | Adult Games | Comics | Mods | Cheats Thank me later
