Have to say, a specific part of the new storyline in this update has left me with more questions than answers

If Neelie has been dead all along, then who were we fucking? It can't just be Ei's imagination obviously. Was she a ghost that was corporeal enough to fuck and had also assumed the form of a succubus despite not getting the chance to turn into one before dying? Was she some sort of independent materialisation of Ei's memories of her?

Considering that there are other ghosts we can fuck in the game I assume the first option makes the most sense, though it's still not entirely clear why she is a succubus then. Did she adopt that form on purpose to go along with her sister's delusions? I'd also argue that if she's corporeal enough to maintain an independent existence in the world she's not really meaningfully dead in comparison to the existence of other succubi, but that may be a more debatable philosophical point

Maybe something about this will be revealed in the following updates but I'm getting the impression that we're leaving that part story closed after this

Your GPU can't handle the game's lighting system. If you are on a laptop try to make sure that it uses the dedicated GPU and not the integrated one. If you are using an old computer, then sadly it is not compatible.

Fair enough. To be honest I didn't consider VAT. I can understand that being not worth for some people. This is more like supporting a project financially, this is what allows us to commission CGs, music, voice acting, etc. I also understand ppl just buying a sub when a new version releases then immediately cancel it.

Besides, there are a lot of other ways to support a project, like spreading the word on Discord, recommending it to others, creating reddit posts about it, stuff like that. Sometimes that could mean much more than a once time donation.

My point is there are a lot of ways to support a project and as long as someone is being nice about it, I generally don't mind it. I can also understand just waiting until it releases and then buying it, while keeping in mind that if everyone would think like that, then the project would likely not survive. I'm not sure what exactly is the best way to go around it myself. I wish I would get so much support that I wouldn't even have to care about it at all. I've even seen some devs being so successful that they can just immediately share their game on F95 and still have enough support to keep going.

Anyways, I'm kind of rambling here, if no one shares it the I'll probably share it myself as a Christmas present here since I'M genuinely interested in what you guys think of the new update. But this also kind of feels disrespectful for those who pay for it... Well even if I did, it's with the mindset that I still don't approve sharing the game outside of Patreon.

I've been a long-time supporter for both Drain Mansion and CoC on Patreon and even I sometimes hesitate just because of how Patreon is as a platform. It's easy to forget that you've subscribed to something and Patreon makes it difficult to do anything beyond constant month to month payments, but I'd probably prefer something like every other month, or manual payments, but I think they truly do hope that you just forget about your subscriptions and don't want to diversify their payment options, so you just hemorrhage money into the platform. I guess that's kind of the modus operandi for big companies these days like Adobe for the past decade and all the gaming platforms now making and pushing subscriptions for games.

I also manually bought Drain Mansion on Steam so I could leave a review that was counted to score on the store page.

That said, I still love your work, and I've supported consistently since I think last year thanks to you providing a $5 tier that I don't have to worry about as much. I've also thought about whether or not Patreon is worth it when it seems a lot of creators don't have any cumulative benefits type of thing, but I think you do have something like that, (or at least did) for Drain Mansion where you got the final game if you contributed enough money during a timeperiod to your Patreon, so kudos to you!

I agree with you on subscription, that is pretty much why we see every company switch to it and I hate is as much as you do. I'm not gonna pretend that Patreon and me are not on the same side here, but that doesn't mean that I like that this is where we are going with services.

Anyway, I'm still doing the same with CoC as with DM, if you donated the game's price on Patreon, when the game releases, you can request a Steam or itch key for it. I'll make a post about it later on with the details.

Tbh I knew this was going to happen and was hesitating if I should say that, but at the same time I don't want ppl to feel that I just gave the thumbs up for pirating all my stuff. I gave you a choice and I'm pretty sure it's obvious which one I prefer. I know some ppl can't afford it or are waiting for the full release to buy it then. That's why I shared it like this, so that those ppl can still enjoy the game.

Basically, just handle it as if anyone else leaked it. I'm not gonna call you out for playing it like I didn't do it before.

Gave up at the garden switch puzzle, genuinely don't know what it's asking me to do there. By the looks of it, I seemed to be near the end anyway so I just unlocked the gallery. Fun game.
